With this being my second time in Italy I really wanted to explore the Michelin star side of Italian cuisine. Moma, although not our first choice, was a nice treat to indulge in while abroad. We opted for choosing a various items from their a la carte menu verses a traditional tasting menu. We started off with some small bites a crunch beet dish (5/5), a goat cheese "ice cream sandwich" (3/5 and a little too butter for me), and a beef tartare (3/5 pretty average). The second round of light bites was a chicken liver half dome (2/5 as I'm not a fan of chicken liver), and an anchovy cracker (2/5 nothing memorable). After the small bites we had the crispy sweetbreads with broccolini (6/5 and it melted in your mouth like butter), a citrusy eel risotto (6/5), and fresh truffle and lamb pasta (3/5 if it were warmer I may have enjoyed it more. We also had the cod and bok choy (2/5 as it had little to no flavor other than the general bitterness of the dish), the crispy quail (3/5) and a fois gras verrine. I though that I would've immensely enjoyed the fois gras dish, however the original flavor of the fois gras was lost in the pursuit of Michelin star glory and thus me giving it a (2/5). Also, the parting mignardises were a delightful way to end the night.

I asked for them to actually cook the poor stake and they had the audacity to refuse to cook it to medium well... I'm paying for the thing and eating... at the very least I think they should be able to cook the thing to my liking. Not theirs. Disgraceful.

I'm a Michelin star slut but Moma did not satisfy me. We got the tasting menu and the only thing I really enjoyed was the mixed pickled vegetables and octopus. The spaghetti was good but boring, the risotto was too sweet, and the cuttlefish with tomato sauce tasted like perfume which made me gag but I kept going cause this was not a cheap meal. I will say the appetizers that they brought out were 11/10. Presentation and service was great all around but for the price the food was very lacking and not worth it.

Bravo! We had the pleasure of dining at Moma on a recent trip to Rome. I cannot express enough how wonderful this restaurant is! The food is outstanding. They started us off with their delicious small bites, the next course was the crudo, then the pasta course of spaghetti and carbonara, fish course and ended with small bites of dessert. It was a well orchestrated meal with lots of great flavor. They have recently earned their first Michelin star and I believe it is well deserved!

4.5/5 stars So glad we got to try a Michelin star restaurant in Rome! We did the tasting menu, and it was so fun! Ambience was nice. They had hooks near the tables to hold our jackets/bags. The food was presented so beautifully. I was pretty pleased with most of the dishes, but not every dish was 5/5 stars. Service was great To start, we got a bunch of appetizers. I couldn't even tell you what we ate! The descriptions weren't on the menu, and it was a little difficult to hear exactly what the waitstaff was saying about each appetizer. The appetizers were finger foods, and they were mostly delicious! Next came the bread! I couldn't stop munching on those crunchy pieces! Next came this vegetable dish, which was soooo flavorful (5/5). We then were served some carb dishes. The cuttlefish tagliatelle was interesting (3/5). The waitstaff poured the sauce on the noodles, which was fun. My dish was unfortunately cold, and the sauce wasn't very flavorful. The risotto with smoked eel was surprisingly good (5/5). The texture and flavors were stunning. The last savory dish was the octopus (4/5). I love octopus, but this one was a little dry. For the desserts, overall will give 4/5. Not entirely sure what each dessert was, but I gobbled everything up, so it must have been pretty good! Overall, the dishes here were pretty unique, and the tasting menu was very fun. I would recommend!

Should not have a star, I'll give it two here because the first third of the tasting menu was good, particularly the small starter course, and the vegetable course. The rest was a disaster with one dish being inedible for us and other nearby tables (the risotto), while others like the cuttlefish puttanesca having flavors not becoming of a star - the sauce tasted exactly like sugar free ketchup from Whole Foods. The wines were good. In terms of service it was another miss, no water service, missed explaining some dishes, dripped wine all over the table on every pour, etc. Would not recommend.

We had a fantastic meal here at Moma. Every dish on the tasting menu was meticulously designed and extremely creative. The wine recommended to us by the sommelier was incredible. The staff was extremely attentive and professional. A well deserved Michelin star.

Did the tasting menu here and it was great! The wine pairing was excellent and the overall service was great.

Got the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Everything was terrific and portion sizes were good (we left stuffed). My favorite courses surprisingly were the amuse bouche and the seasonal garden (these pickled veggies were amazing after 1.5 weeks of pasta and cheese in Italy). The only course I didn't love was the cuttlefish tagliatelle, as the cuttlefish was a little too soft to masquerade as noodles. The wine pairing was good (a sparkling, white, red, and a sip of dessert wine), but they also have very reasonably priced bottles and I'm not sure I would have preferred the pairing for 2 over a bottle. Service was very attentive throughout the entire 3 hour meal. Given the tasting was $110 with a $60 wine pairing, I thought this was fairly good value and would definitely return.

Beautifully presented pork belly and great tasting too!

Being American and who had been touring all day, we were the first (not surprisingly) to arrive at the restaurant at 7:30. I believe the restaurant caters to an English speaking crowd, but this was really a top notch restaurant with superbly friendly service and great food. Before we made our reservation we confirmed if the chef could offer a lactose free tasting menu. They reconfirmed this when we sat down and offered some inventive options not on the standard tasting menu. There was real harmony with the courses. One of the nice surprises was the cuttlefish. This was cut in such thin strands it resembled pasta and was perfectly seasoned with anchovies, olives and capers. Also, one of the most beautiful plates was the starter including pickled vegetables and prawn. Regarding the lactose issue, the chef made some clever substitutions with almond and pumpkin cream. Actually, I think we really enjoyed each course and the pairings as well. I believe Moma is a real find, and if you are in that part of Rome should be on your list. It will be on our list when we return.

I stopped by Moma for my first lunch in Rome and what a unique start of my eating journey it was. The place is very elegant and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered the cuttlefish pasta and risotto with eel. The cuttlefish pasta was like nothing I had tried before- the sauce was good and unique but the texture was a bit chewy in a way that I can't say I was running back to. Meanwhile the risotto felt decadent- super creamy with crispy small pieces of eel. It felt like a small portion when I looked at it but realized quickly it was perfect for how rich it was. This was a unique meal and a great and affordable way to taste a Michelin rated restaurant.

Carmelized pork with delicate fennel. One of the best things I've ever eaten.

Great meal. We had three amazing wines paired with the tasting menu. The food ranged from citrus infused flavor profiles to sweet and savory carmelized pork with delicate fennel. The dessert was to die for. One of the best meals of my life and certainly the best so far during my visit to Rome.

The issue I had was that I was in a super heavy tourist area and all of the restaurants we were walking past had people outside trying to lure us in. I wanted to avoid places like that, however via Yelp I discovered Il Chianti a short walk away. While still I assumed still touristy, the reviews were great and as we approached they weren't trying to lure us in, so we decided to try them out. I take this place is very popular since I noticed a sign instructing diners for form a line as we walked up to the restaurant. However, there was no line to be found and we were seated right away. Curb appeal is lovely, they have a decently-sized outdoor seating area though we opted to sit inside. The interior is a good size and compartmentalized into different rooms. The aesthetics are mostly classic with medium to dark wood tones. The menu contained some Tuscan dishes but also several that were more common outside of the region. We decided to start with two of their apps - a cheese plate and bread with fatty prosciutto, pistachio, and honey. The cheese plate was great, I love cheese and this one delivered - there was a good variety and the plate was paired with a few complements. The bread was great - the combination of the fatty prosciutto with the honey and nuts made for a great experience. There was a small salad in the center of the dish which was a welcome reprieve from the heaviness of the app. For my main I decided to get pasta - the paccheri with tomato sauce and burrata was speaking to me. The dish was great - pasta was cooked well and all of the components were super fresh. I've tried burrata in may settings but rarely in a pasta dish - it worked well and now I'll be seeking it out more often. Service was good - everyone was very friendly and there was a good pace to the rate our dishes came out. Overall, we had a great experience at Il Chianti - in a sea of touristy spots by the Trevi, this stands out as a noteworthy option for a good meal.

Food was delicious. Atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. Right near Trevi fountain. I would recommend…read morevery much.
