Nice location. Great views while you dine. I was surprise to actually like my dinner. Came here by mistake and last minute dinner...

We had two pasta as first entry with wines and two beef entree. Both pastas were so salty that we couldn't eat them. Staff was very nice that take them out from the check. The steak was good along with the desert. Most important part was the environment and it has seats next to piazza pierta which live musician performs.

Definitely more of a local spot than a touristy one, which made it taste more delicious and authentic. Although I love Italian dishes, it was a refreshing change of pace to not eat something with a cream and cheese explosion. The food here tasted healthy and clean (if that makes any sense) while not giving up any of the classic Italian taste. The dishes may look plain at first but they pack a delicate flavor that won't make you feel guilty. Despite being a hidden gem, the waiters were still tourist friendly and voluntarily translated the specials for us.

Situated close to Piazza Navona and The Pantheon, Osteria dell'ingegno is a charming restaurant/cafe/bar on a square overlooking the Temple of Hadrian. The menu is simple but fairly innovative and as is common in Italy the menu is adjusted with the season. We found it warmly welcoming and inviting. On arrival we were generously plied with 'Suppli' (Roman Tapas) which included stuffed olives, salami, fried mozzarella, pistachio nuts and garlic crostini - all free of charge. The menu displayed a virtuosity in traditional Roman flavours, the use of aromatic herbs and spices to create dishes full of flavour. Though we didn't eat there (we just had pre-supper drinks) we noted the spinach filled ravioli in cheese sauce, the codfish fritters with yellow polenta and chilli, the veal saltimbocca with sage, wine and juniper and the roast duck with a sweet-and-sour sauce flavored with bay, wine and raisins. Service was prompt and delightful and we paid in the region of 17 Euros (or about £14) for a bottle of water and 2 large glasses of good Montepulciano. We noted that a good evening meal with drinks would probably costs over 100 Euros (about £85) for 2 people. That said, the overall impression we got was of great quality and attention to detail.

Love this place! The kiss lip pillows lined across the front of the restaurant called out to my family and I and offered the perfect resting spot to stop for a drink. Although the prices are a bit high, the location gives an amazing view of Hadrian's Temple and right in the sun. Our drinks were prepared and served elegantly and were brought out with homemade biscuits that were delicious. Although I only went inside to pay and used the washroom, the peak that I got of the restaurant looked equally as impressive, and had we of had more time we would have definitely stayed for a meal.

This is probably my favorite restaurant on this side of town. I have eaten both lunch and dinner and it has always been consistently great. The resultant changes it menu on a daily basis and always uses the freshest ingredients. Among my favorite dishes are the burratina and the couscous seafood dish. Their gazpacho is amazing and worth trying on a hot summer day.

One if the best dining experiences ever. Marco is an amazing waiter who asked if we preferred a "dining experience".

One if the best dining experiences ever. Marco is an amazing waiter who asked if we preferred a "dining experience". The rest became history with an amazing experience a five courses that became just better as we progressed. Then Marco turned on the "Marcopedia" and took us out on the square in front of the restaurant and gave us the full on history behind the temple that we had been viewing from our table. This is with no question one of the best restaurants in Rome.

Little hidden gem behind the G galleria, very fresh pasta and fish. Traditional Italian style with foil bake and potatoes, steak from northern Italy and it semi cook at your table side. Didn't give them a 5 because of the time it took for our food to arrived. They could have served us the appetizer first and bread didn't come until the end.

Stumbled upon this place after leaving the pantheon. The prices are very reasonable. Although the staff weren't that welcoming we decided to eat there anyway because we were starving. We ordered the calamari for appetizer (can't go wrong with calamari), the carbonara and lasagna. Everything was delicious! The lasagna was not as meaty as in the states but I loved every bite of it. I also tried the carbonara and it was also really tasty. Paired it with a bottle of house wins, only £18.

Awful Aperitivo, 20€ wasted on a mediocre spritz, rude service and a small plate of "food" that looked like scrapped from other tab

Service and food were excellent. The Bruschetta and Mozzarella were incredible. They also accommodated my sons food allergies well.

We ordered sea bass fillet rolled in zucchini and honey mushrooms. Fish was tender, soft, and delicious with great seasoning. We also ordered Ravioli with white truffles and it was delicious as well. Ravioli tasted like it was freshly made and it tasted great with truffles. Lastly, we got tiramisu for dessert. This tiramisu was prepared by an artist. Just by looking at the dish, it was very pretty to look at. It was presented on a beautiful plate with thin chocolate cookie on top with sugar decoration and underneath was a creamy white tiramisu. I loved this dish because it was unique dessert with great sweet flavor and great presentation. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly with great attitude and they are attentive. I think they liked the look on my face every time they brought out the dishes because their presentation was great. Whoever was the Chef that night, I would give him or her an award. This restaurant was unique just like Rome. Highly recommended!

We opted for the Roman-style cuisine tasting menu with wine pairings. The service was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance was quiet and romantic. I appreciated the decor, especially the various wine bottles displayed throughout, and I also liked the dishes the food was served on. That said, this restaurant leaned a little too "foodie" for my taste. I also discovered that I really dislike truffles! My husband, on the other hand, enjoyed everything--including my leftovers. The wines were fantastic across the board. I also want to mention the pricing was shockingly affordable for what we got at dinner, which again, included the wine pairing. If you consider yourself a foodie and enjoy creative, thoughtfully prepared dishes, Ristorante Ad Hoc is worth a visit.

Pane e Salame, however, was delicious!!!! On our first day in Rome, my husband and I decided to search for a lunch spot nearby (we were staying near the Trevi fountain), and I found this place had pretty good reviews. We got there about an hour after it opened and requested a seat outdoors. They have a tiny patio across from their entrance, but they fit quite a bit of people in it! We initially wanted to order two sandwiches to try more items, but I'm glad we just shared one - they were big and filling! We also had the small charcuterie board to share which was plenty of food for us both. We shared a bottle of rose, and all in all, we paid under $50 (usd) - what a steal! This was the perfect first meal in Rome. The food was incredibly fresh, the service was great, and the outdoor seating allowed us to experience the streets of Rome. 10/10 - would absolutely go back.

Our sandwiches were cut in half and one half was big enough to make the average person full. We got five sandwiches for only about €30! The place was not a tourist trap, but i have to say, the seats at the booth were uncomfortable to me, and the place was a bit small. Sorry i do not have photos. But overall, I would recommend to go here.
