    Ragù and carbonara
    Kelsey L.

This was our favorite meal in Rome! They had a ragù special that was unlike anything we have ever had before, and it was amazing! We also got the pecorino appetizer. And their carbonara was the best we had on our trip. We made the mistake of coming here our first night, then nothing else compared. The service was great, and the ambience was incredible too. This was our favorite place throughout our trip.

Ditta Trinchetti was one of my favorite meals in Rome! The menu is very vegetarian friendly and I tried a tomato and burrata special, cacio e Pepe, roasted chicory, and eggplant Parmesan. Everything was delicious but my favorite dish was the cacio e pepe. Service was quick and helpful and if the weather allows it would definitely recommend sitting outside to soak in the ambiance of the area. Also would make a reservation ahead of time if you're planning on going during a popular time

Don't even think about having dinner anywhere else. Best meal we've had in Rome. Everything we had was delicious. Service was excellent.

Amazing meal and service in the travastere. Beautiful place and delicious meal and wine!

This restaurant caught my attention because they have a sign that claimed this is not a touristy place. Duh! Got me! Indeed, this turned out to be what I consider a true Italian restaurant: the waitress spoke no English, so my little knowledge of Italian was very handy there. She also seemed to have an attitude, and service in many Italian places left much to be desired (God bless America!). For my last meal in Italy, I ordered a board of cold cuts with cheeses, bread (for which I paid separately!) and a beer. My bill was €23. The variety of meats and cheeses was ok, although I would anticipate a larger board for the price. It's bread that cost me €1 what ticked me off. In the past 2 weeks in Italy, I paid for water, but never for bread. Other reviewers mentioned that this restaurant was trendy and unique, but I did not find it that was at all. Don't think I would ever come back.

Super cute and cozy atmosphere and incredibly delicious food! We stumbled upon this place trying to avoid the tourist traps in Trastevere and boy did we luck out! We were seated immediately and our waitress was very kind and attentive. For starters, we got the burrata with anchovies and endive, which was incredible! The half litre of house wine was also very great, totally worth it. For entree, we got the salmon, which was to die for, and the gnocchitini with asparagus and calamari, also super tasty. For dessert, we got the tiramisu, and even though I'm not usually one for sweet things, this was so flavorful, I loved it! Incredible place, great vibe, super tasty food!!

This is a beautiful and romantic restaurant. Very hip and cozy. This is what drew us in for our last dinner in Rome! The restaurant is very narrow and doesn't have too much seating available. My girlfriend and I ordered to share: Agnello Alla Cacciatora - Lamb with garlic, rosemary and wine served with potatoes. - This was disappointing. I didn't taste the garlic, rosemary or wine. In fact, it was super greasy and just tasted like oil. The meat was also very dry. It was definitely overcooked but a good portion. Fettuccine Fatte In Casa Al Ragu Di Carne - Pasta with meat sauce. - This was good and fresh. But the portion was tiny, especially for the price. Carciofo Alla Romano - Roasted artichoke. - This was good but again very oily and greasy. Prices were a little higher than your standard places. However, the house white wine we ordered (1 liter) was actually a really good deal. (8 euros) Service was good and fairly quick. The restaurant is really just about the ambiance. The food wasn't the main focus for us.

Pretty lovely place to dine. Can get full if you eat later. We came earlier and was pretty empty. Loved the octopus and the pasta was nice.

-It's snuggled in the modiva (nightlife) area of Rome called, "Trastevere", amongst the tiny & crowded mini-alleyways.

We ordered sea bass fillet rolled in zucchini and honey mushrooms. Fish was tender, soft, and delicious with great seasoning. We also ordered Ravioli with white truffles and it was delicious as well. Ravioli tasted like it was freshly made and it tasted great with truffles. Lastly, we got tiramisu for dessert. This tiramisu was prepared by an artist. Just by looking at the dish, it was very pretty to look at. It was presented on a beautiful plate with thin chocolate cookie on top with sugar decoration and underneath was a creamy white tiramisu. I loved this dish because it was unique dessert with great sweet flavor and great presentation. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly with great attitude and they are attentive. I think they liked the look on my face every time they brought out the dishes because their presentation was great. Whoever was the Chef that night, I would give him or her an award. This restaurant was unique just like Rome. Highly recommended!

We opted for the Roman-style cuisine tasting menu with wine pairings. The service was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance was quiet and romantic. I appreciated the decor, especially the various wine bottles displayed throughout, and I also liked the dishes the food was served on. That said, this restaurant leaned a little too "foodie" for my taste. I also discovered that I really dislike truffles! My husband, on the other hand, enjoyed everything--including my leftovers. The wines were fantastic across the board. I also want to mention the pricing was shockingly affordable for what we got at dinner, which again, included the wine pairing. If you consider yourself a foodie and enjoy creative, thoughtfully prepared dishes, Ristorante Ad Hoc is worth a visit.

But overall, I would recommend to go here.

Pane e Salame, however, was delicious!!!! On our first day in Rome, my husband and I decided to search for a lunch spot nearby (we were staying near the Trevi fountain), and I found this place had pretty good reviews. We got there about an hour after it opened and requested a seat outdoors. They have a tiny patio across from their entrance, but they fit quite a bit of people in it! We initially wanted to order two sandwiches to try more items, but I'm glad we just shared one - they were big and filling! We also had the small charcuterie board to share which was plenty of food for us both. We shared a bottle of rose, and all in all, we paid under $50 (usd) - what a steal! This was the perfect first meal in Rome. The food was incredibly fresh, the service was great, and the outdoor seating allowed us to experience the streets of Rome. 10/10 - would absolutely go back.
