Franciacorta - read up on this type of sparkling wine from Italy, it's my favorite... this is the brut

We are in Rome for a few days before our Greek Isles cruise. I got a recommendation to visit this restaurant from https://www.instagram.com/theitalianwinegirl. This is an amazing meal. Seafood focus, amazing seafood and pastas. My favorite type of Italian sparkling wine is Franciacorta. Excellent and friendly service. We loved everything we ordered. On top of this, their tiramisu is amazing. Not sure what kind of tiramisu we have in the US, but we are missing out! Amagnac is delicious. I recommend this place. We loved everything about our experience.

Wasn't a great fit for us. I have a mild shellfish intolerance, so there are times I need adjustments to the tasting menu at a restaurant. Unfortunately, La Rosetta was not able to accommodate. It was understandable, given how shellfish heavy they said the tasting menu would be. So instead we opted for a whole Sea Bream prepared traditionally. Very simple, very fresh tasting fish. It was enjoyable, but at the same time extremely expensive for what it was. Another diner near us seemed to really enjoy the tasting menu, so I wouldn't write this restaurant off if that's what you intend to go for. Amuse-bouche and appetizers were good, though I forget the specifics. Our champagne was phenomenal. Central location in Rome is nice. Extremely close to the Pantheon, though at best some of the outdoor tables have a partial view from the side street La Rosetta is tucked away on.

This was our last meal in Rome/Italy and was recommended to us by a colleague of mine. We were steered right! This was hands down our best meal of our trip so we inadvertently saved the best for last. We ordered the four course tasting menu and every dish was fantastic. A summary of our meal is below with a blow by blow for each dish. My girlfriend stuck to water but I ordered the wine pairing and they recommended some fantastic pairings for my meal! If you are in Rome this is a must have dinner! The chef and owner Massimo was very friendly and gracious enough to allow for a photo together at the end of our meal. I don't know how else to say this was amazing without repeating myself from here haha. Chefs tasting menu was phenomenal from start to finish !! I see why they lost their Michelin star because because of lack of creativity not for the lack of Taste!! The food was excellent the service was even better !! The octopus was full of flavor and notes!! The grilled calamari had an excellent smoke taste almost like it was smoked on the grill the Creme Brûlée need a little more consistency but overall it was an excellent experience

Chicory hearts salad with anchovy dresssing! The best salad I have ever had!

The appetizer was good but the pasta was undercooked. At these prices and for Italians u would think they could cool the pasta right #fail

We ordered sea bass fillet rolled in zucchini and honey mushrooms. Fish was tender, soft, and delicious with great seasoning. We also ordered Ravioli with white truffles and it was delicious as well. Ravioli tasted like it was freshly made and it tasted great with truffles. Lastly, we got tiramisu for dessert. This tiramisu was prepared by an artist. Just by looking at the dish, it was very pretty to look at. It was presented on a beautiful plate with thin chocolate cookie on top with sugar decoration and underneath was a creamy white tiramisu. I loved this dish because it was unique dessert with great sweet flavor and great presentation. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly with great attitude and they are attentive. I think they liked the look on my face every time they brought out the dishes because their presentation was great. Whoever was the Chef that night, I would give him or her an award. This restaurant was unique just like Rome. Highly recommended!

We opted for the Roman-style cuisine tasting menu with wine pairings. The service was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance was quiet and romantic. I appreciated the decor, especially the various wine bottles displayed throughout, and I also liked the dishes the food was served on. That said, this restaurant leaned a little too "foodie" for my taste. I also discovered that I really dislike truffles! My husband, on the other hand, enjoyed everything--including my leftovers. The wines were fantastic across the board. I also want to mention the pricing was shockingly affordable for what we got at dinner, which again, included the wine pairing. If you consider yourself a foodie and enjoy creative, thoughtfully prepared dishes, Ristorante Ad Hoc is worth a visit.

Our sandwiches were cut in half and one half was big enough to make the average person full. We got five sandwiches for only about €30! The place was not a tourist trap, but i have to say, the seats at the booth were uncomfortable to me, and the place was a bit small. Sorry i do not have photos. But overall, I would recommend to go here.

Pane e Salame, however, was delicious!!!! On our first day in Rome, my husband and I decided to search for a lunch spot nearby (we were staying near the Trevi fountain), and I found this place had pretty good reviews. We got there about an hour after it opened and requested a seat outdoors. They have a tiny patio across from their entrance, but they fit quite a bit of people in it! We initially wanted to order two sandwiches to try more items, but I'm glad we just shared one - they were big and filling! We also had the small charcuterie board to share which was plenty of food for us both. We shared a bottle of rose, and all in all, we paid under $50 (usd) - what a steal! This was the perfect first meal in Rome. The food was incredibly fresh, the service was great, and the outdoor seating allowed us to experience the streets of Rome. 10/10 - would absolutely go back.
