Solid restaurant at the top of one of seven hills in Rome. Suggested by our local friend in Rome. Simple and elegant in decor and lighting, clientele mostly consists of locals. The portions are quite huge - I would recommend sharing a tasting menu for 2 people. Out of the dishes that we had, Fluffed buffalo mozzarella cheese and tomato was the amazing winner. I don't know how they Achieved the fluffy consistency of the mozzarella cheese but the result is extraordinary and the tomato was the perfect complement to the whip cream like cheese. The pigeon wrapped in pistachios was delicious. Just the right texture for the meat, with a bit of nuttiness of the pistachios. Reminded me of some of the dishes that I had in morocco. The dishes to avoid would be: Cod carpaccio with mayonnaise and cucumber - too fishy Sponge cake with chocolate gelato and apricot - too sweet

Lovely restaurant overlooking Trastevere. The interior is a series of smaller rooms, so it has an interesting intimate catacombs like feel to it. Our service team was outstanding and did a great job helping us navigate and selecting some delicious wine. We ordered a la carte, though I'm sure the tasting menu would be an excellent option given the outstanding dishes we sampled. Amber Jack tartare was terrific - light and flavorful, a nice antidote to much of the heavy overly cooked meat meals we'd had in Rome. Roasted pigeon with Rhubarb and Pisco was also lovely and a perfectly sized starter. Pastas were outstanding. The Maltagliati with Chili and Uni was really outstanding - subtle yet flavorful. Tiger Prawn Tortelli was also terrific but also very subtle and perhaps could have used a bit more seasoning. For mains, both the Snapper and Sea Bass were extremely well executed. Both were perfectly accompanied by their vegetables. In both cases texture and flavor pairing were very interesting (but maybe a little more seasoning, again). Admittedly I am a bit of a salt whore, so factor that into my observations. All in all it was a lovely evening - this place has a nice comfortable feel to it and is stylishly casual. The food pushes some boundaries without straying too far into the realm of the experimental. It is approachable, well executed, and delicious.

Antico Arco is a good overall experience. However, be alerted that it is not a traditional Italian place like most of the popular places in Trastevere. This is not necessarily bad, but I think it is important to mention since you can get disappointed if you are looking a traditional place. Having said that, our experience was fine. Even if the restaurant is located in a not quite convenient location if you don't have a car or take a taxi, its interior is elegant and minimalistic at the same time. In a certain way, it is like they want you to focus on what should be the main attraction: the food. The service was polite and professional as you would expect from a place like Antico Arco. I remember they did a good job describing the plates to ensure we knew what to expect. Our orders that night were: .- Spaghetti Verrigni with pecorino cheese, black pepper and zucchini flowers: The dish worked pretty fine. My girlfriend thought it was too cheesy (she was already alerted by the waiter before ordering) but in my opinion (I am a cheese lover) that pasta was great. .- Risotto with snapper ceviche and burrata cheese: Simply beautiful. As a proper Italian restaurant, each of us got a sample of what the other one ordered. Certainly a nice touch not often replicated... The bread we got during our meal was outstanding. We didn't order desert but we got a complementary little one. Unfortunately I don't remember what it was, even if I do remember I enjoyed it. Enjoy!

Came here for our last meal in Rome.. :/ place is a bit tiny but very home-y feeling. We did the 8 course meal which set me back around 80 something euros I believe. It was well worth it bc i was able to try a little bit of everything on the menu. Portions appeared to be a little small at first but then when the 3rd plate came out my food baby started to appear. No complaints all around though, food was amaaaazzzing and the service was A-1. Everybody was attentive and staff worked as a team, which I liked! I loved there olive oil and super thick balsamic vinegar that I even purchased some to take home. By the end of the meal I was super full and glad that they were more than happy to bag up the dessert. I would definitely come back!

On the outskirts of the Trastevere neighborhood in Rome, this whitewashed, modern Italian restaurant is run by the owner and attentive, knowledgeable staff. The food is paired down and exquisitely prepared. Mozzarella delicately fried in pastry with herbs and mushrooms, black truffled pasta with light crème, macaroni amatriciana, and sliced pigeon: all wonderful. A treasure filled but-still-bountiful-under 40-euro wine list yielded bottles I've been waiting to try for just this occasion. In sum, a delightful experience that is sure to please.

    Delicious! CArbonara!

Hands down, best meal I had while in Rome. So good in fact that I went back for a second round and made sure that my sister and bro-in-law made a reservation as well. INCREDIBLE wine list! Worth the drive! The tasting menu was so delicious.... I can't decide what was best... the truffle carbonara or the pigeon. This place is not to be missed!

Crudo di ricciola, zenzero e insalata di avocado hass and roast pigeon

Among the many fantastic restaurants in Rome, Antico Arco truly stands out with its commitment to excellence in both food and hospitality. Just a short walk away from the Belvedere del Gianicolo, this trattoria offers traditional cuisine with outstanding ingredients and innovative twists. We ordered the roast pigeon and crudo di ricciola as starters, followed by the linguine and risotto with scampi. The linguine were enhanced by a lemony salty mullet roe and eating the risotto was like diving into a blissful sea of fish and butter. All along the waiters did their utmost best to make us feel welcome and well taken care of. The wine list is extensive and offers excellent pairings for a well rounded and delicious meal. My only regret is not being able to stay for secondi and desserts. But it will certainly not be my last time at Antico Arco. Grazie for this unforgettable lunch!

We ordered sea bass fillet rolled in zucchini and honey mushrooms. Fish was tender, soft, and delicious with great seasoning. We also ordered Ravioli with white truffles and it was delicious as well. Ravioli tasted like it was freshly made and it tasted great with truffles. Lastly, we got tiramisu for dessert. This tiramisu was prepared by an artist. Just by looking at the dish, it was very pretty to look at. It was presented on a beautiful plate with thin chocolate cookie on top with sugar decoration and underneath was a creamy white tiramisu. I loved this dish because it was unique dessert with great sweet flavor and great presentation. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly with great attitude and they are attentive. I think they liked the look on my face every time they brought out the dishes because their presentation was great. Whoever was the Chef that night, I would give him or her an award. This restaurant was unique just like Rome. Highly recommended!

We opted for the Roman-style cuisine tasting menu with wine pairings. The service was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance was quiet and romantic. I appreciated the decor, especially the various wine bottles displayed throughout, and I also liked the dishes the food was served on. That said, this restaurant leaned a little too "foodie" for my taste. I also discovered that I really dislike truffles! My husband, on the other hand, enjoyed everything--including my leftovers. The wines were fantastic across the board. I also want to mention the pricing was shockingly affordable for what we got at dinner, which again, included the wine pairing. If you consider yourself a foodie and enjoy creative, thoughtfully prepared dishes, Ristorante Ad Hoc is worth a visit.

Pane e Salame, however, was delicious!!!! On our first day in Rome, my husband and I decided to search for a lunch spot nearby (we were staying near the Trevi fountain), and I found this place had pretty good reviews. We got there about an hour after it opened and requested a seat outdoors. They have a tiny patio across from their entrance, but they fit quite a bit of people in it! We initially wanted to order two sandwiches to try more items, but I'm glad we just shared one - they were big and filling! We also had the small charcuterie board to share which was plenty of food for us both. We shared a bottle of rose, and all in all, we paid under $50 (usd) - what a steal! This was the perfect first meal in Rome. The food was incredibly fresh, the service was great, and the outdoor seating allowed us to experience the streets of Rome. 10/10 - would absolutely go back.
