Remember you are on A Roman holiday. Initially you might walk in and leave. Stop! Stay! This is not a tourist trap! Roberto is hopefully working when you visit. A professional waiter. The restaurant has a very appealing approach to reviving you after a 3 hour Vatican tour. Their menu has many typical Roman mandatory plates. My over-60 party of 2 did the shrimp/scallop ravioli and green salad with the house white wine. Also the pork rib and potato fry side. Enjoy!

I do not understand the great reviews here. I was looking forward to this, since the reviews were good, but I was really disappointed. The service was nice, and the place is cute- but my spaghetti pomodoro was just awful. Possibly the worst plate of pasta I've ever had. No flavor whatsoever. I could have poured sauce out of a can and had a more interesting meal. It's often the simple things that show you how good a restaurant is- and this one failed big time. I will say the bread, and fried pizza balls were great as were the olives. My husband had the tuna salad with olives (Nizzaro?)- and he wasn't too disappointed. Nothing special- but at least his wasn't horrible. But he agreed my pasta was awful. My awful pasta was 10 euro and my husband's salad was around 9.50 and the soda water (large bottle) was a very fair 3.50.

I'm sad to leave Rome for 2 reasons... first because is beautiful city, second I'll not have one of my favorite restaurants nearby. Went to Biancos on couple of occasions and never got disappointed. It's a cosy little place, with simple but tasty food, friendly staff and great music. I had beef Carpaccio with Parmesan shavings as a starter. They put truffle oil on the top; great combination. Pesto pasta as a main. Fresh & tasty. I couldn't resist to one of my favorite desserts at the end, Portamisu!!! Highly recommended! Will be back soon!!!

On the backside of a tour of Vatican City, we decided to fill our need to live by more than bread alone. Yelped this convenient bistro and found our way over to it for a sit down lunch. The whole place has Vespa mopeds inside and out, just in case you weren't sure you're in the right place. Small but quaint, not a lot of servers (common all over Europe). A whole lot of menu items to choose from, so if you didn't like it, you didn't choose wisely. I ordered a simple homemade lasagna which I enjoyed, but the Mrs. wasn't as accurate with her choice. She opted to get spaghetti and meatballs thinking it'd be better in its country of origin than in the states. Perhaps, but not here. The meat was unseasoned and the sauce was plain, and that was unexpected. I guess if we had saw Karen back there in the kitchen we'd have known to order something she couldn't mess up. I did. The experience was pleasant and the staff abliged to grant to the patrons' request for pictures and special seating (except for on the Vespas). Not a bad place, just order something with plenty of cheese in it.

Found this quiet restaurant from Yelp for lunch after our visit to Pope's Sunday Blessing at St Peter's Basilica. The service was great and the bathroom was clean. Mushroom risotto was good. Grilled pork chop was tender. However, the lobster was not fresh.

We had a delicious dinner here last night. We had the mixed bruschetta, with five different kinds, the caprese salad, pesto pasta, and the carbonara, followed by the homemade tiramisu. The caprese was delicious! The cheese was flavorful and the tomatoes were perfect. The bruschetta was delicious, especially the one with sautéed mushrooms on top. I had the pesto which was a perfect portion size, and it was very light and delicious. My husband had the carbonara, and he said it was fantastic. He is not a big dessert person but he loves tiramisu. I am a huge dessert person, but don't care for tiramisu. However, it was delicious, and I'm glad we tried it. We were very pleased with the service and the food. We would definitely come back here.

    Portomasu-- Port wine tiramisu. INCREDIBLE!

This was one of the best meals we had in Rome! We enjoyed the spinach ravioli, fettuccini, grilled sirloin and grilled salmon. We finished our meal with port wine tiramisu which I had never had before-- so delicious! Our server, Roberto was friendly and accommodating and had really attentive service. For 2 first courses, 2 second courses, 2 drinks, 2 espressos and 1 dessert, it was €90 which I found to be really reasonable.

    The spinach/salami/mushroom/bacon pizza!

FOOD: Excellent! My fiance and I didn't know that the pizzas would be so big, so we ordered two. I had the funghi, and he had the salami/mushroom/spinach pizza. Ingredients were really fresh, and the pizzas overall were really delicious. The portions were HUGE. We definitely could have gotten away with just one pizza. PRICE: Also really great. A 12-ish inch pizza here costs 7-12 euros. That could easily feed two people. SERVICE: The chef himself comes out and asks how your food is. Waiters are so welcoming and charming, and they really appreciate any attempt to speak Italian. It's been my favorite place in Italy so far in terms of ambiance!! LOCATION/AMBIANCE: Within a 5 minute walk of the Vatican. Sit indoors for wifi and a quieter ambiance, sit outside for more people-watching. Loved the decor. RESTROOMS: Sparkling clean! This is really important to me, as a tourist. Plus, these toilets are not the squatty kind; it actually has a toilet seat. I cannot emphasize how relieved I was.

We LOVED this place (went in 2019). Burrata and panna cotta. Great tender pork shoulder. Will be back if we get a chance.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

Already depressed knowing we were returning to the cold and fearful Minneapolis, we spent the day packing and wandering Prati. After drowning our sorrows at a few cocktail emporiums in the early evening, we walked into Su e Giu without a reservation close to 9:30. The two guys working the front showed us to a table, and we proceeded to have a perfect last night meal. Our appetizers and pastas were great, service was friendly, and I spent time reflecting on how wonderful Rome is, rather than thinking about our return to the fractured States. Su e Giu Cucina Romana is the perfect Roman restaurant to feel La Dolce Vita. It is a sweet life indeed.

This shop is more of a countertop order from their limited menu but the menu is executed so well you'll be tempted to order multiple bowls. There are a few stools and table out front to enjoy your food hot. Both times I've been on separate visits within two years, has only shown me how consistent their food and quality is. You can pair your dishes with an aperol spritz or mini bottle of wine for less than five euros. The pasta was about nine to eleven euros and the portions were more than plenty. The chef and owner are super nice and very informative about their dishes. If you are a fan of spice you have to try their chef-recommended dish. They had one dish topped with pancetta and I just about wanted to lick my bowl clean. Everyone in the group was raving how delicious it was. Egg will forever be on my must-have when visiting Rome.
