We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. My wife ordered the Marguerite pizza; I opted for the Gorgonzola pizza (the effusive review on Yelp was compelling). Both were solid. We appreciate the thin crust and the crisp edged. The center of both, however, was doughy and somewhat undercooked. Looking around ... the restaurant was over 50% full even at this early hour. Most were Americans. We saw a good number of diners with pasta dishes ... and none were left unfinished. Sadly, we don't have any comparisons to weigh (yet). So, I cannot affirm any "best of" citations, it this is certainly a solid trattoria/pizzeria. The staff are attentive and the food served hot and fresh.

Unbelievably Rude & Hate Americans My husband and I are currently in Rome on vacation. When we walked by it looked like a cute little place to eat. There was a line so we waited for about 10 min until we were next. Then a very rude French couple walked up and cut right in front of us and the waitress sat them. (We said nothing) Then when it was finally our turn again I ask for a table for two. The waitress said "no I don't have a table for you". Even though there were several empty tables in front of us. I pointed to the empty tables and asked why we could not be sat at them. She replied "not for you". We were appalled. Then right as we started to walk away, another non-American couple walked up and she welcomed them and sat them at one of the empty tables that "we were not aloud to have". I travel a lot for my work and I have never been so blatantly discriminated against for being an American. If you are American don't eat here, no one deserves to be treated like that. read more

They were both tasty, she didn't finish the carbonara, it's made with eggs and cheese, plus a thick sliced pancetta, so it's very filling. The multi gelato came in three scoops, chocolate, hazelnut and pistachio with a heart shaped waffle cookie and splash of chocolate sauce. I liked the dessert better than the soup, it was okay, but needed a little more spices to my taste. There is outdoor seating available if you want to brave the cold weather. I tripped over the steps to the restroom twice, you need to watch your steps going into their little hallway. I'm a little clutzy, so you'll want to be careful of the inside steps there. Try this place if you're tasty into wine, it's going to be the perfect spot for you.
