In early June evening, the temperature is nice for dinner outside. We did just this here and had a great dinner! The food is great! Service was a little slow compared to what we used to in the States but we were just enjoying the nice weather so we didn't mind.

We stopped here for our anniversary dinner on a trip & it was exceptional! Agha was our server--he was friendly, knowledgeable & accommodating. My husband got the tonnelli with seafood (he was able to get it de-shelled!) & I got the tortellini with meat sauce. Both amazing. We got tiramisu & Oreo cheesecake for dessert & left full & satisfied. Absolutely recommend visiting here!

Where to begin..... my husband and I first discovered this place 2 years ago while on a very extended stay in Rome. We ate here several times and tried different dishes each time we came. The food was always fresh and delicious along with the best staff I have ever seen! We were treated like family as well as the customers around us. Our main waiter was Donny, who gave us amazing service! Well, 2 years later we are back for an extended stay again. We went back, not knowing if Donny was still there or not. We sat down to be greeted by Aghalar, who goes by "Agha". We asked if Donny was still there but it wasn't his time to be on shift. Agha, gave us the same top notch service! The food was just as amazing as before! As we were about halfway thru our meal, guess who showed up!? Donny! It was like being greeted by family! He said "Welcome Home"..... That's how they make you feel there, like family. It's a family owned and run business that takes great pride in their service and their food. It's only a few minutes walk from the Colosseum. This is not touristy food! This is authentic Italian food! You will not be disappointed!

Truly, one of the best restaurants in Rome! You gotta try this place. The food was amazing but the customer service was out of this world! Our host, Donnie, and our waiter Lorenzo were amazing!! The restaurant had a very authentic (traditional) look with modern and upbeat ambiance. Even the music they were playing was diverse and accommodating. Some old with some new (Mrs Jackson..OutKast) So.If you're going to visit, Central Rome, near the Colosseum, you must eat here. 10 out of 10. 10 su 10. Jonathan

4 cheese pasta- sooooooo good

Great little find near the Colosseum. I was worried that it would be an overrated tourist trap, but it is not. We opted to sit inside as it was very hot- although their outside eating area was lovely. We sat downstairs ~ it reminded me of an Irish bar more than an Italian restaurant, although the large upstairs was very much what one would expect. We ordered a pizza and a 4 cheese pasta for sharing and both were delicious. The pasta needed pepper, but then was amazing, The pizza had a salami that was too spicy for me, my husband loved it. When I took the salami off it was one of the best pizzas I've ever had in Rome. The drinks were also ver good, and the prices reasonable. We sat next to a couple who had an air bnb in the area and ate there 5 nights, That's how much they enjoyed it. Service was ok- typical Italian. A great spot of in the area and trying to avoid the overpriced tourist traps.

the best restaurant ear the colosseum. after visiting i suggest stopping by here for refreshments and refueling with food. inside is a wonderful place to unwind and dine. be sure to try their house specialities. i got the seafood risotto and fettuccini and some cold cut chaqutterie (i definitely spelled that so wrong that spellcheck didn't even bother fixing it) the staff is very friendly and provide wonderful service. they treat everyone like family. my favorite dish there of all time was the seafood risotto it was incredible and i still dream about it or this date. i left feeling satisfied and super happy -- a wonderful experience! thank you for authentic roman dishes.

The food was fantastic! With record breaking temperatures, we were looking for a place to eat to get out of the heat. The inside was jam packed but they had fans with misters so we ate outside. At first the service did not seems so good with the waiter asking if we had placed our orders. Aside from this oversight, everything was great. The food came out quickly once ordered, brought to us by two cooks from the kitchen who seemed to care about the food they were serving. The pizza was beautifully thin, creamy pasta dish was the best we had had and it was a great experience.

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.

Great first meal in Rome!…read more I loved my artichoke pasta dish with bacon, it was a daily special. The amaretto dessert was delicious! Carbonara was super al dente. Seafood risotto was fresh. Grilled radicchio was like stir fried. Dinner for 3 for 77 euros, impressively busy for a Tuesday night. Friendly staff, easy for English speakers. :)

Super pizza place with a lot of other great stuff on the menu…read more I looked with envy at the other tables who were enjoying spectacular plates of spaghetti with mussels. * * * That said, my pizza was a grand slam home run. Many of their pizzas are quite elaborate With all sorts of exotic ingredients. I went super simple. Gorgonzola. Mozzarella. That's it. Just enough Mozzarella to cut the Gorgonzola and make for a good melt. * * * If you have never had a gorgonzola pizza, you have never lived. Just sayin'. * * * P.S. My lovely wife got a Norwegian salmon pizza. The Norwegian salmon was stacked up high on her pizza As if she was in the World Series of Poker and she was a big winner. I have never seen so much salmon on one plate. After our meal, I made a discreet phone call to the Norwegian embassy in Rome asking them if they still had any salmon left. The woman at the embassy assured me the Norwegian salmon supply was fine. That surprises me given all the salmon that was on my wife's pizza.

However, they had apparently started having dining "outside" which consisted of a few tables-for-two on the sidewalk. My brilliant wife came of with the idea of asking if we could just take two of those tables next to each other so she dined with one daughter and I the other. We probably looked a little funny as we got up to share plates between the table but hey, we were seated in 5 minutes. Car traffic wasn't too bad so that wasn't a distraction though it was amusing seeing delivery bikes coming and going sometimes even returning constantly to the restaurant. Clearly a very popular place. I have to hand it to our waiter, he did a fantastic job serving not just the outside but his inside assignments as well. Guy got his steps in for sure and yet he smiled and was kind through the evening. Not a sign of stress at all. Love that. Food-YUMMY! Since we were on separate tables I didn't my normal "Wait let me take a picture first!" moments lol. We got the Fried Mix to start off with which. I personally ordered a pasta carbonara and the daughter I was sitting with got a margherita pizza. My wife ordered the chicken which was thinly cut breaded chicken slices. I ordered a red (Montepulciano d'Abruzzo) to go along with my meal. Don't have all the foodie pictures because of our split tables but trust me it was all fantastic.
