This place was my last meal in Italy. It was so good! This place seems pretty popular. The seating outside is lovely and they even had fans on. This was great for a hot July night. We got the octopus carpaccio (I think that is what they called it on the menu) and it was tender and delicious. My hubs got the carbonara and I got the pistachio crusted lamb chops. They were cooked to absolute perfection. The lamb was juicy and not over done at all. I remember also having wine and dessert, which were probably good, but I was half a bottle of wine deep and can't really remember. :)

Came here again. Got the same two favorite dishes, same great service!! This time I came for lunch instead of dinner and ate inside in the first room. It was ok and a bit cooler than outside where it was 90 degrees. Started with a spritz. I came with my cousin and we split the cheese balls and then each got the cacio and Pepe with pistachios. We ordered a liter of the house white wine. The food was amazing despite the atmosphere of hordes of tourists. We had made a reservation. Some people who did not were being turned away.

This is a liter of beer. Huge! And it's not even the biggest size they serve. Food was delicious.

Food was delicious. Service was also great. The beer could go up to 1.5 liters. The picture is one liter.

This might have been my favorite food I ate in Rome. I ordered the ravioli special of the day - pistachio. It was absolutely excellent. Hand made pasta and great service.

Food and service was fabulous. This nice sidewalk cafe has a great outdoor dining area. Truly a delight!

This cozy gem near the Colosseum was an absolute highlight of our evening in Rome! We had an outdoor table glowing under warm lantern light, which set the perfect ambiance for a relaxed, flavorful dinner. Fans and outdoor air condition kept us comfortable. We went at sunset and it was still quite warm. Appetizer - We shared the Bruschette Miste, a trio of toasted breads topped with a creamy chickpea spread, a bold olive tapenade, and a fresh tomato bruschetta with herbs. Served with greens and olives, it was simple, fresh, and incredibly tasty. Main Courses - I ordered the Tonnarelli alla Carbonara, which was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced with pancetta and a crispy parmesan topping. My niece enjoyed the Tonnarelli all'Amatriciana--a bold and tangy tomato-based pasta with just the right kick. Wine - We paired our meal with a chilled bottle of Carlin de Paolo Moscato d'Asti. Light, bubbly, and slightly sweet, it was refreshing, an absolute highlight. Dessert Finish - The evening ended with icy cold Limoncello shots, offered by our friendly server, making for a perfect Italian nightcap. Total: €70 for two, including still bottled water and coca cola (my niece had to try the coca cola) Absolutely worth it for the location, quality, and experience.

Food was great ! Pasta was perfectly well seasoned and perfectly al dente ! We ordered the T-bone steak , fried calamari & shrimp , and the big shrimp to share with my 5 friends ! Those were all the best things to share with a group ! I ordered the pasta with garlic and chili flakes which was very good! I didn't catch my servers name he was a nice gentleman with a white beard and mix of grey and black hair who treated us well and tbh all the employees were super sweet and helpful ! There was a guy (niko) who helped clear the table and was super friendly and funny ! Even took a picture with my friends haha

My fav pasta experience in Italy. If you get carbonara anywhere, this is the spot to get it. Creamy, salty, and most importantly, tasty as heck. We got the fried calamari for appetizer and they were sweet and crunchy. Our waiter took our order pretty quickly and food came out within 15-20 mins. We sat outside and it was a nice vibe. Inside is okay, but the bathroom could be cleaner (the lock wasn't working when I visited). Overall, a solid time and glad to have checked them out.

Got the calzone and may be the best one I've ever had. Service was awesome from Niko! He took excellent care of us. The ambience was very Italian as well.

    Wonderful speghetti fresh and homemade.

Great place to sit outside and enjoy some great speghetti. Pasta was fresh and homemade sauce was excellent. The serving staff was busy but very attentive. This was our last night in Tome and finished with a great meal and drinks.

We were looking for a place to eat lunch after our Colosseum visit, and wanted something away from the main Piazza del Colosseo, so we walked about 6 min and found this restaurant. They were very busy but we were able to get a table. Husband ordered Costolette Agnello (lamb chops), I ordered Pizza 4 stagioni (four sections, each representing a season; typical toppings are artichokes for spring, tomatoes and basil for summer, mushrooms for autumn, and prosciutto and olives for winter). When we were finished with our entrees, we saw other tables getting jars of dessert, so we asked the man who seemed to be owner, and he said it's Tiramisu, so we had to try it. SO much better than what we've been eating in America. This was our 1st tiramisu in Italy so we couldn't yet compare locally.

Pretty good food. Pretty friendly staff. Fast service with a smile. I enjoyed it. Got the amatriciana and a pizza. But we're fresh, and delicious. Pretty close to the coliseum too. Seems to be a popular spot. I'd recommend too.

Very Disappointing Experience - Osteria da Fortunata, Pantheon Location…read more We have visited Rome several times and have eaten at Osteria da Fortunata della Cancelleria on Via della Cancelleria. During our previous visits, we had excellent experiences with both the food and the customer service, which is why tonight's experience was especially disappointing. We ordered the carbonara and spaghetti, and unfortunately, the pasta was undercooked, very chewy, and cold. It was not at all the quality we had experienced during our previous visits. When we asked the waiter to take the carbonara back because it was not edible, his attitude was extremely disappointing. Rather than offering to replace the dish or addressing our concern professionally, he told us that the manager had approved it and that we could simply take the food home. What made the experience even worse was the atmosphere of this location. The restaurant felt more like a factory than an authentic Italian dining experience. We noticed the staff using walkie-talkies to communicate with the host, and as soon as customers left their tables, the waiter would communicate with the host to immediately send new customers in to fill the space. It gave us the impression that the priority was turning tables over as quickly as possible rather than providing guests with a pleasant dining experience. The constant rush was noticeable and took away from what should have been an enjoyable meal in Rome. It is very unfortunate because we have visited Osteria da Fortunata several times in the past and genuinely enjoyed both the food and the service. Tonight, however, the cold and poorly cooked pasta, the attitude of the waiter, and the rushed, factory-like atmosphere made this a very disappointing experience.

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.

Being new to Rome, and having walked 20k steps on our first day, there are an abundance of options a for dining. We wanted something classically Rome nearby to our hotel. The Yelp review of this restaurant was sufficiently positive to entice us. Being American, we appreciate the earlier-than-customary dining options. We arrived at 6pm without a reservation. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is intimate and very well staffed. The wood fire oven is front-and-center and the fresh mozzarella is prominent in display. We ordered a bottle of wine ... all options are very fairly priced. This is nice. We started with a Greek salad to share. It was unlike any American Greek salad ... and a really delight. It is early June but the tomatoes and peppers were ripe and crisp and really fresh. My wife ordered the Marguerite pizza; I opted for the Gorgonzola pizza (the effusive review on Yelp was compelling). Both were solid. We appreciate the thin crust and the crisp edged. The center of both, however, was doughy and somewhat undercooked. Looking around ... the restaurant was over 50% full even at this early hour. Most were Americans. We saw a good number of diners with pasta dishes ... and none were left unfinished. Sadly, we don't have any comparisons to weigh (yet). So, I cannot affirm any "best of" citations, it this is certainly a solid trattoria/pizzeria. The staff are attentive and the food served hot and fresh.
