We found this place by accident and man...so glad we did. We were fortunate enough to walk right in and snag a table so we sat first and then tried to work out what to do. You order and serve yourself drinks from the case and then pay when you are finished. We love a mix of things so we selected a medium board for two and then grabbed two beers. Such a wonderful variety of meats, cheeses, fresh crusty bread, veggies, and fruits. Folks behind the counter were super nice and helpful. It's a small shop but we loved how it just seemed to be so local and casual. No fancy seating and all that here, just some of the best food you will eat when you need a little break from pasta.
Recommended by a couple I met at a cooking class, they encouraged me to check out the romantic Trastevere neighborhood and this restaurant. They raved about the charming streets and the exceptional food served at La Prosciuterria and they were spot on regarding both! The fact that prosciutto is in the name, you know they specialize in cured meats! They create the most amazing anti-pasta (charcuterie) boards based on your selections. Meats, cheese, olives, nuts, fruit - all artistically arranged. For me, this is the perfect late afternoon meal especially after lots of walking and shopping when I need to take a break. Anti-pasta boards of every size are available, including a board for one for just $5 euros. Add a glass of wine for another $5 and it's a satisfying and very affordable meal. What a fabulous place! Will definitely go back when I'm in Rome because the Trastevere neighborhood with it's cobblestone streets, ivy covered buildings and fabulous cafes like La Proscuiteria is so charming and make this area a destination within Rome.
This place came as a recommendation from a friend back in the states as a MUST in Trastevere! Even then, I still cross referenced their word for Yelp reviews and was pleasantly surprised by the number of 5 star reviews. We popped in around 1230 and the place was half full, within 30 minutes there were no open seats! We ordered a bottle of Rose and the deluxe board for two. Warning: the deluxe board is wayyy too much for 2 ppl. There's a smaller board that is more than enough, the gourmet board is just ludicrous.... Get the charcuterie!! All the nearby restaurants, get their charcuterie from this place!!
The platters here are beyond beautiful!! I don't understand why this place isn't more packed. If this was in the States, there would be a line. I mean, I'm glad there wasn't, and that the one we visited by Trevi Fountain was pretty much empty the following afternoon, but I was definitely surprised. We shared a medium platter for two, and it was much more food than we expected. I also ordered a glass of house red and a glass of house white. I was initially irritated when I was given a bottle of white, not knowing how much it was and because I thought they should have told me about not having any glasses beforehand. Yet, this was before I realized that the price I thought was for the glass was for the bottle. After that realization, I was rather happy. We were charged for bread we never got, but by the time I realized that, we were already on the street and it wasn't worth the bother. Regardless, the food was delicious, the setting was intimate, the wine was adequate, and we loved the place (enough to go back the next day to a sister location). Every time we return, this is someplace we will visit, not just because of the fare, but because of the great memories we had together while dining.
Love eating in Trastevere and this place is no different! Order up at the counter - there is no table service (this is also written on the walls so there is no mistaking). Great prices for a charcuterie board, paired with wine. The server even let us sample different wines until we found one we liked. Would recommend as a great midday or evening snack to relax and enjoy Rome!

When in Rome (literally) you must check out this spot! Massive charcuterie boards and amazing house wine in a cozy and bright atmosphere will truly make this a memorable experience for anyone who visits. Service is fast and friendly and the quality of the meats and cheeses are absolutely unreal but this is what you would expect from the center of where much of these beautiful cuts come from local sources so you would expect and get the best quality! The boards are massive even for the ones for 2-3 and the wine is a must! read more

This is a small restaurant that serves awesome meats and cheese. We had a charcuterie board but the sandwiches looked just as good. Expect to bring your food to the table since this place is not licensed as a restaurant. But it adds to the charm read more

The best food I've ever had in my life -- go, go, go! The produce was unbelievably flavorful and the cheeses divine. My partner loved the prosciutto board. The music was on point and the proprietor so welcoming. What an unexpected delight. Note that there are two locations next to each other; one is more of a butcher shop and one is focused on dining. Go to the location with more seating! read more

We had such a lovely meal here. There were so many locals. I would highly recommend the charcuterie and paninis. This is the perfect place for a quick, but authentic, Italian snack/lunch. read more

There's a couple of these across Italy, and we ended up visiting one in Florence as well as here. Between both locations, La Prosciutteria was easily our favorite place to start off a night on the town. This Trestevere edition is really tiny, but absolutely adorable. There's maybe about 12 spots to sit, but we lucked out and only had to wait about as much time as it took for our order to come out. We had an all veggie plate, and it was more like a work of art than an appetizer. Delicious combinations of cheese, fruit, breads, and spreads that were amazing to munch on while we shared a bottle of house wine. This place is very affordable and the service was super nice. The cashier even offered up some advice on dinner and drinks in the area which ended up being one of our most fun nights out. If you come across this brand on an Italy trip, trust the reviews. read more

This was everything. We enjoyed so much the food, the wine, and the beer. They did give us some fresher cheese which we often don't eat but other than that everything was so yummy. read more

The charcuterie boards are amazing - so much food for not expensive either. I went with two friends and got a medium - we were happily stuffed. The fruit tastes fresh, spreads are great, meat is awesome to. I came first with SAI Programs and have gone back here many times. Good place to bring visitors in town. Also good wine. read more

We literally came here three times during a two and a half day stay. This is a small space, that gets busy around dinner time. This is all self serve after you order. There is AC and self serve water. The house wine is perfectly priced at 10 euros a bottle and is delicious even by Italian standards. We ordered three different spreads during our visits and each one was just as delicious. Americans are accustomed to having an explanation as to what is on the board, but do not expect that here. No explanation is needed for the delicious assortments of meats, cheeses, fruits and spreads. Our favorite was a large pork loin and a tomato spread. Literally would come here again and again and again. read more
Tasty board for a great price. Ordered the medium board for 2 at 10€ per person. It was big, but we had no trouble finishing it although we would've been OK with a small. Needed more cheese though- there were only 4 small pieces of 1 kind of cheese. We sat downstairs and luckily my hubby saw the sign that said you have to order upstairs and set your own table. The board took awhile to arrive surprisingly. This couple was sitting near us, and the guy got his board well ahead of his partner. read more
I want one of those near my house! Though my waistline probably does not! We went here and were able to find a table. I had no clue what to order walking in or how to order it and then....I saw a sampler board on the table and simply said that I wanted that. You are charged per person - 10 euro. It comes with about 4 of everything-4 of a few kinds of meat and 4 of one kind of cheese and then 8 pieces of bread that have 4 different spreads on 2 pieces. Then you get the little pan full of additional bread. You get some roasted veggies, sun dried tomatoes. In asking the staff, it sounds like you never know exactly what you are going to get. They just throw whatever on it. Reasonable wine prices, free water (RARE in Italy in a restaurant) and darn good meats and cheese. We liked it enough that we sought it out when we moved on to Milan. That time though we ordered the "deluxe" or the equivalent which was 15 euro per person and you got more cheese but in general, I don't think you got that much more-just the additional cheese. It seemed to have more space filler made up of lettuce-so possibly not worth it (or at least not in Milan because I saw some of those in Rome and they looked great). Holyyyyy! This place is soooo goood. We walked in, completely unsure of what to order. The girl up front said that she could build us a plate - we could choose from 5, 10 or 20 euros per person. We opted for the medium charcuterie board and a house red for 9 euros. Best money spent. The medium charcuterie board is huge and it comes with various selections of meats, cheese, veggies and fruits. They made it look so elegantly delicious (it looked so pretty, I didn't even want to break into it). If you're in the area - please go! read more

Decently priced tapas like bar/wine bar with a lot of cold cut meat on the menu. Located in the Trastevere neighborhood which looks a little shady when you first walk around but it seem generally safe as long as you have some comment sense. Wine starts around 4 euro which is nice since most tourist spots were charging around 7 for house. I ordered a glass of Chianti and a braised beef. Small tapas portions at a decent priced. The mixed plate that my neighbor was having seems very appetizing. It's a cold cut plate with cheese and bread. If I don't look like a nut case I would probably try to ask them if it's okay for me to take a photo of it. The place has a nice vibe to it. I would say it's a nice date spot to sit back and eat some small plates and enjoy a glass of wine or two. Everything is self service. I also like the fact you don't get charged for water like everywhere in Rome. Everytime you ask for water they bring a giant bottle and you get charge 2 to 3 euro for it. read more

Simply amazing! They provide you with a smorgasbord (not really but close...) of different meats and complimenting wine, fruit, and chips. This is a the epitome of hole in the wall where you can easily miss it. Luckily there always seems to be a long line out the door which makes a great indicator for your viewing pleasure. The meat is freshly cut and ready to serve then and there with fast delivery and complimentary suggestions from the worker behind the goods. If you are ever in Roma, dont miss this chance to eat some great prosciutto! read more
