Most incredible boards of meats, cheeses and breads
    Jerry H.

BEST CHARCUTERIE EVER! This incredible, amazing restaurant is locally owned and was featured on YouTube with the Tour Guy. It's rated top on Yelp. We came in and ordered at the counter with the friendly owner. They have a great selection of Italian wine as well. Then the staff brings out the enormous boards of food. The board is full of cold cuts, jams, bruschetta, cheese, olives, tomatoes and much more. We ordered the Momma and Nonna. Everything was super fresh and delicious! This was the best board we have ever tasted. The restaurant is a casual warm welcoming restaurant with lots of Italian flair. It's a must try, amazing experience! We absolutely loved this place.

They were just opening when I arrived.

A friend who came here last summer recommended it, and it was arguably the best meal I had in Rome! Why? I ordered the Tagliere Brado, which consisted of wild game including Venison, Wild Boar, Lamb, Duck, in addition to salame and mortadella and four pieces of "special bruschetta" which included artisan toast topped with cheese and pork and other goodies! I was especially blown away by the Venison, which was full of rich flavor, but really the entire board of bruschetta and meats was so delicious and creative, and it just made me smile after every bite! It is a small operation, husband and wife, I think, and they treated me like a guest in their home! I sat outside with this board of love and a glass of wine, and just savored every moment! It is a MUST visit!

Easily one of our best meals of our trip. We stayed around the area and every time we walked by the tables were lively and the charcuterie looked great in weave baskets. A number of different options and mix of tourists and locals enjoying some great food. I don't recall what we ordered exactly, they have different preselected items. What made this different were the different seasonings and sauces sprinkled on or available to dip. I never cared for charcuterie until I had this. Our mind was blown. It was also a great change of pace from pasta and heavy secondi's

We came here for lunch with my brother-in-law to sample their porchetta. Even though it's not on the menu, they made a porchetta sandwich for my wife, and I had the Burino -- a basket of hot porchetta served with rustic bread 12€. We also enjoyed some red label Peroni birra. The restaurant is small and rustic, a couple of blocks west of Piazza Navona.

This place was our favorite meal in Italy! It's off the beaten path, which is beyond refreshing! I had read the reviews but wanted to be sure it wasn't too central. It was perfect. The brick walls and the outdoor sitting areas on hay barrels were the perfect touches. The service was wonderful! My husband and I both chose Panini's, he had the Ignorante and I had the Compotosto. His had capocollo, caciatta, melazana, and pomodoro. It was heavenly and toasted to perfection with a little crunch! The capocollo and other toppings were so fresh!! My Compotosto had ventricina, caciotta, pomodoro, and insalata. Again, it was toasted to perfection. The ventricina (pork sausage) was sliced well and the amount was awesome! The caciotta on both sandwiches was so fresh and brought out that morning!! I love Italy and how fresh every single thing is!! We had a bottle of the house red with the Panini's and it's flavor was wonderful! It was a red blend and it had some noir undertones. It began pouring rain so we enjoyed the outdoor (covered) seating and got the bottle of the house white. It was a slightly buttery white with minimal floral undertones. We loved both bottles! Thank you so much for a great afternoon, we are still talking about this day!! Highly recommend this spot to anyone in the Rome and Trastevere area!

This was probably one of our favorite places during our trip. I wish we had more time in Rome to visit this place again. After an afternoon of sightseeing, we decided we wanted to grab a light late lunch. I was not in the mood for more pizza or pasta and knew I wanted to just nibble on a few things. I had this place bookmarked so we decided to give it a try. This place is a gem that is tucked away in an unsuspecting alley. They were also very welcoming upon arrival - explained the menu and made some suggestions. We decided on the Special for 2 and a bottle of prosecco. With the weather being so beautiful during the day, we wanted to sit outside. There was a couple sitting outside already and the host helped us arrange a table next to the couple without disturbing them. It was so nice for him to accommodate us. The Special charcuterie board we got was amazing and just what I was looking for. All the cheeses, meats, and bread was perfect for a nibbler like me and my fiance. There was a truffle spread on 2 pieces of bread that I really enjoyed - I ate both because my fiance is not a fan of truffle. There was also other bread that had melted cheese and meat that I thought was really yummy. It was so sad that one of the slices fell off our board and onto the ground - so we shared the remaining one. The board was served with bread slices in a bowl and it was more than enough to pair with all the goodies. Small place, nice staff and wonderful experience!

Located in Rome, I had this on my first night for my travels through Italy. The entire trip I tried to match this experience. My sweet dreams are made of cheese. They delivered an amazing cheese platter with cured meats and bread. The wine was paired perfectly! The ambiance was magnificent. I loved the brick walls, the cozy back corner, music played but we could hear our entire table's conversation. The staff was friendly and really made the experience exceptional. I highly recommend this place when you are in Rome.

WOW. What a hidden gem. We came to Italy hearing about a similar spot like this "La Prosciuterria", but this charcuterie board was FAR better. We came in after checking out the Pantheon and looking at Yelp nearby. Decided to stop in here with zero expectations and left so so happy! This is everything you want in Italy. Nice family run restaurant, amazing meats and cheeses. They have a bunch of options, we just asked them what the best one was and we paid per person for one board. They hook you up. So much meat and so much cheese plus fruits and jams and bread. This is the charcuterie board of charcuterie boards!!!

We stopped in on a whim and ordered the special charcuterie board, it was one of the best things we had while in Italy! The gentleman that was assisting us was so kind and helpful while ordering. Please stop in at this cute place for a nice glass of wine and wonderful assortment of meat and cheese!

This place was great! Wine and beer only. Small deli known for meat and cheese trays. We got the "Special" for 2 and fed all three of us no problem. Cash only business.

Awesome antipasti platter and wonderful ladies who work behind the counter. We had the "Special" which was 15€ a person and the house white wine. If you are not as hungry, you can also share a platter. Please remember that this is a cheese monger and not a restaurant. Definitely stop by if you are in the area of Piazza Navona.

House special and two glasses of red wine. Cheers!

This is a hidden gem in the alleyways of Rome. We experienced a very welcoming host and a comfortable environment. When we walked in we were greeted by one of the employees and she went over their menu which has variety of international cheeses and cured meats. We went with their house special and two glasses of red wine. We were blown away at the presentation and loved the flavors. The cheese went from mild to spicy and the meats were each excellent. My favorite cheese was the spicy ricotta. They also had a refreshing salad and golden raisins that brought contrast to the plate. Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone visiting Rome wanting excellent charcuterie and cheeses. Cheers!

This cold red wine is amazing.

We ordered sea bass fillet rolled in zucchini and honey mushrooms. Fish was tender, soft, and delicious with great seasoning. We also ordered Ravioli with white truffles and it was delicious as well. Ravioli tasted like it was freshly made and it tasted great with truffles. Lastly, we got tiramisu for dessert. This tiramisu was prepared by an artist. Just by looking at the dish, it was very pretty to look at. It was presented on a beautiful plate with thin chocolate cookie on top with sugar decoration and underneath was a creamy white tiramisu. I loved this dish because it was unique dessert with great sweet flavor and great presentation. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly with great attitude and they are attentive. I think they liked the look on my face every time they brought out the dishes because their presentation was great. Whoever was the Chef that night, I would give him or her an award. This restaurant was unique just like Rome. Highly recommended!

We opted for the Roman-style cuisine tasting menu with wine pairings. The service was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance was quiet and romantic. I appreciated the decor, especially the various wine bottles displayed throughout, and I also liked the dishes the food was served on. That said, this restaurant leaned a little too "foodie" for my taste. I also discovered that I really dislike truffles! My husband, on the other hand, enjoyed everything--including my leftovers. The wines were fantastic across the board. I also want to mention the pricing was shockingly affordable for what we got at dinner, which again, included the wine pairing. If you consider yourself a foodie and enjoy creative, thoughtfully prepared dishes, Ristorante Ad Hoc is worth a visit.

This place was so incredible, we went TWICE during our 3 day stay in Rome!…read more We had tried the other "super famous" Italian sandwich spot earlier in our trip and it did NOT deliver. Pane e Salame, however, was delicious!!!! On our first day in Rome, my husband and I decided to search for a lunch spot nearby (we were staying near the Trevi fountain), and I found this place had pretty good reviews. We got there about an hour after it opened and requested a seat outdoors. They have a tiny patio across from their entrance, but they fit quite a bit of people in it! We initially wanted to order two sandwiches to try more items, but I'm glad we just shared one - they were big and filling! We also had the small charcuterie board to share which was plenty of food for us both. We shared a bottle of rose, and all in all, we paid under $50 (usd) - what a steal! This was the perfect first meal in Rome. The food was incredibly fresh, the service was great, and the outdoor seating allowed us to experience the streets of Rome. 10/10 - would absolutely go back.

Our sandwiches were cut in half and one half was big enough to make the average person full. We got five sandwiches for only about €30! The place was not a tourist trap, but i have to say, the seats at the booth were uncomfortable to me, and the place was a bit small. Sorry i do not have photos. But overall, I would recommend to go here.
