Delicious street food in Rome. I only wish this spot was closer to my hotel and then I could have had more than one day. I tried the 2 vegetarian options- Cacio & pepe & Pomodoro & mozzarella. I also had the eggplant dish. I ate this for dinner but it would also make a good snack in between meals. Very minimal seating so large parties will need to take to go.

    Order each one individually.

Suppli. Roman street food. Rice balls mixed with tomato sauce and spices, wrapped around mozzarella. You can find suppli in a variety of places in Rome. Some more famous than others. This tiny shop in an historic location uses historic recipes. Everything is cooked fresh when ordered and locally sourced. The outside is crispy. The rice soft. Sauce pleasantly spiced. The mozzarella melty and stringy. Not at all greasy. Let them sit for a few minutes after being served before eating so the mozzarella has time to melt. This is a quick between meal snack. Besides classic suppli they have a few other versions, a sweet custard dessert version and other items along with beer, wine and water.

Delicious suppli (fried rice balls). They were crispy on the outside, and bursting with flavour on the inside. There were so many options available, that I didnt know what to choose. I ended up ordering the caccio e peppe, and a tomato suppli and they did not disappoint. You could taste the freshness! There is limited seating inside, so I ate at a near-by piazza. The service was quick, but I arrived right when it opened. I walked by a few hours later and there was a long line (but definitely worth it!).

Supplizio is a really cute & interesting casual restaurant ! i really liked all the writing on the wall & thought it was rlly cool to see all of the people who visited from so many different countries. we tried one of each of the supplí and probably enjoyed the classico the most, honestly. I feel in general we preferred the ones that had tomato sauce inside of them because the flavor just stood out more. all were delicious though!

On my last day in Rome, I really wanted to grab some of the famous Roman street food bites called Suppli. These were my favorite not so healthy snack when I lived in Rome back in 2010. I had seen several reviews and recommendations for a small place that specialized in these fried creations and thought I would try it. Supplizio is tucked into a small street and located on the corner. It is an extremely small shop so expect it to be packed due to the popularity. They have a small menu of suppli, croquettes and other lunch items but they are most famous for the fried balls of amazingness. The supplis are not small so make sure to order wisely because they are FILLING and you won't be able to finish them all. I decided to grab two of the most popular ones since it was mid day and I still had to eat dinner later that evening. I ordered the Carbonara and Amatriciana they were both really good. I would have to say I enjoyed the carbonara more because of the creamy consistency in the suppli. They were both perfectly fried and flavorful. I did think the Amatriciana fell a little flat as I was looking for a little more heat. It tasted more like a basic pomodoro but was still delicious nonetheless. If you're in Rome, definitely try this place out for a mid day snack between meals. It was good enough that I'd go back but I'm still looking for my 5 star suppli spot.

These rice balls are perfect in every which way. They are such a great street snack if you are hungry but not quite ready for a meal. I went with the traditional and the classic. The classic has chicken, tomato and mozz and the traditional has meat and mushrooms. Both were perfectly fried on the outside and creamy and cheesy on the inside. At around 2 or 3 euros a pop they are a filling and cheap snack. I believe there are a few locations in Rome, so be sure to seek this out if you are there. You'll never regret a rice ball!

Saw this place on YouTube as a must try and wow were we amazed! My first time having a suppli and I had one of each, they were all great.

Roman street food just minutes from where I stayed! Walked by this place and it looked cute, so we entered. The set up is meant to mirror a living room, so it is quite small. There were two parties already seated and one had a toddler moving about. You walk up to the counter and order. The staff gave us an English menu and recommended the daily special, which he called a "meat sandwich". We got the titular food item, Supplizio, Classico style. It is one large fried rice ball--and it was bomb! I thought I ordered the bread with buffalo cheese and anchovies, but looking back, the saltiness of the anchovies wasn't there. Nonetheless, it was cheesy and served with a slightly sweet jam. We also got the "meat sandwich" and the bread was fresh and the arugula was a nice contrast to the aioli. I liked this place for providing a quick bite, showcasing a Roman street-food staple. I am not a fan of the living room seating, but when in Rome!

Simply put the best rice balls in the world. The flavors on the inside were perfect and the crunch and taste of the outside was even better!!! This NY Italian found a bit of heaven on earth in Rome!

Supplizio is a great spot for a quick bit to eat. Crusty and crunchy on the outside and (depending on what filling) hot cheesy and delicious. I liked the mushroom one the best. They also had a wall where customers can sign their name or write a message. The staff was also super nice and friendly.

I really don't understand the hype about this place. I really love arancinis so I was so excited to try Supplizio after seeing it on the Food Network. I sampled the classico, carbonara, and arrabbiata and thought they were all kind of dry. The carbonara was so bland I ditched it after one bite. The arrabbiata was the best of the three but wasn't worth going out of the way for. Three supplis and one glass of wine for two people came out to €19. It also seemed like a tourist trap. In the 30 mins that we were there, at least 3 tour groups came in.

This place blew my mind!! If I could go back in time I would've bought enough supplis to fill up my suitcase and bring them back home. This place is incredible because not only does it have traditional supplis but it also has all these hybrid supplis. I say that because the owners are clearly some culinary masterminds who are constantly coming up with all new types of supplis to send your taste buds into overdrive. I'm talking major food orgasm!!! So if you're in the area (and even if your not) make your way over here to try the best supplis ever!!!
