    Tiramisu
    Maddie E.

I was so happy to say this lived up to the hype! This was the reservation I was most excited for and it was a great time. Based on location, service and food I think this was my overall favorite visit in Rome. I started with an artichoke and mozzarella. The mozzarella was so fresh and moist. My husband is not a huge artichoke person but, we were both fighting for the last bite. For dinner I had Gricia. The sauce was silky smooth with a perfect salty bite from the guanciale. I wish I could eat this meal every night. The tiramisu was expertly done! Not soggy but not hard. Full of creamy and coffee flavors. The service was helpful and quick. You could tell they had a seating after us but, they did not rush.

Three of us had dinner on a weeknight. We had made reservations a month in advance online. When we arrived on time , we were seated immediately at the only one open table. Many people were being turned away. Reservations are a must here! It took awhile to take our order. Like a long while. We ordered a white wine that they were out of. Maybe that was the holdup? She recommended a similar white wine at the same price. It was good. We learned they only have cacio and Pepe at lunch. For our pasta course, I got the carbonara, my cousin got the Amatriaciana (served with rigatoni), and my friend the the grigia (similar to cacio and Pepe). I liked my carbonara the best although it was heavy. My cousin and friend both liked the Amatriaciana best. For our main we got the veal Saltimbocca and the veal special. Also we added a side of chicory. The veal Saltimbocca was the best. It was pounded paper thin and the prosciutto was high quality. The veal special was not what any of us expected. We could have skipped that in retrospect but it sounded good on paper. The chicory was too spicy for me to eat; I wish I had gotten a salad instead. I had to leave before dessert to take a call. They got a strawberry ricotta torte and thought it was very good. Very reasonably priced. A solid 3.5 but rounding up to 4 due to location and price point.

I was able to snag a reservation about a month before my visit to Italy which worked out great as I was able to time it with my visit to the Pantheon (restaurant is across the street). I was greeted warmly when I arrived and shown to my table. I started with an arugula salad which was perfect. I'm usually not a big arugula fan but this salad converted me. The gnocchi with ribs was a special and was divine. Meat was fall off the bone tender and a perfect complement to the gnocchi. I had the tiramisu for dessert which was so creamy and delicious I forgot to take a picture Paired with a lovely red wine recommended by the waitress and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Tip- try and get a reservation beforehand- a few folks were turned away without one due to a full house.

This I have heard so much about from so many famous foodies! Where traditional pastas are made well and I wanted to try it. Customer service here is amazing! They definitely know their menu and easily make suggestions. It is a must to make reservations here and they only open 30 days before hand and go fast. You can try your luck on the day. Had a classic cacio e Pepe which was good but I must say not the best I have had in Rome . The standout for me was the lamb. So tender and juicy. Perfection. I also had the torta roma I believe. I asked what they suggested was their best and I am really happy to have had this. It was sweet yet not overly so. You can get tiramisu everywhere so for him to pick something new for me and was delicious - I highly recommend. I would love to go back and try the recommended carbonara on my next trip. Honesty, there is a vibe to this place that's very comfortable.

Our travel agent booked our party of eight reservations at this restaurant. She told us this was a Michelin restaurant and hard to get reservations. The food was good but it was served to us by a waiter with a heavy dose of body oder making interactions with the waiter very unpleasant. I still am not sure why this restaurant is in demand or what it received a Michelin star for as it seemed to be very average....

We had a great experience while on our honeymoon here. We came here for our anniversary dinner. I would suggest getting a reservation if you come at night. They fill up very quickly. When we came, there was indoor seating and outdoor seating inside the tent with the heat lamps. Beautiful views of the Pantheon if you are outside on the street. The employees spoke Italian and English. Excellent service, our waiter constantly check on us. I don't remember if there was a coperto, the receipt I posted doesn't show it. They close around 3pm and reopen around 7pm for dinner. Keep that in mind if you are trying to come for a late lunch. The food was amazing. A lot of great appetizers, pasta and meat to choose from. I'm not a big fan of artichoke, but I really enjoyed it crispy with the fresh mozzarella. I had Carbonara pasta. Loved the sauce. The guanciale that's in the pasta is now a favorite of mine. Hard to find good carbonara in the states. Will definitely come back here the next time I visit Rome.

Wow wow wow! I had high expectations, and this dinner met them from start to finish. It is right next to the Pantheon, but it is not your typical tourist trap - this kitchen understands the rich culinary history of Rome and serves up dishes that honor those traditions. The restaurant is small and intimate, with memorabilia on the walls, and the service is excellent. Start with an artichoke cooked Roman style, along with some fresh mozzarella cheese. The quality and taste of the local food will blow you away! Then, take your pick of any of the four pastas of Rome (cacio e pepe, gricia, carbonara, or amatriciana) and give them a try. The carbonara is my favorite. It was rich and silky smooth, perfectly cooked - I'd eat it every night if I could. I wish we could get ingredients of this quality in the United States. The desserts are also great. I tried the brownie, but the star is the tiramisu - not too crunchy, but not too soggy. This was all around an amazing experience and we will be back!

Definitely make a reservation for this restaurant! We did not but we got pretty lucky - we lined up minutes after they opened for the night and were able to get a reservation for a couple hours later. We were the last couple to get a table for the night. As a vegetarian that also has an egg allergy, I was worried I wouldn't have any options here. I was wrong! Unfortunately I only had one option since most of the pastas had meat in the sauce. I ordered the black truffle pasta and it was out of this world! The pasta was super delicious and the portion sizes were satisfying. The pasta was a little too al dente for me but otherwise very flavorful and truffle filled! My husband ordered the rigatoni and the cod fish and loved both! I also ordered the chicory and it was SO delicious!

Yes! That's the spot you want to visit after long walks in Rome. Don't mind bad reviews! Despite, reservation issues you still can be accommodated as a walk-in. People just don't want to seat outside in a nice outdoor sidewalk tables ( construction is covered from two sides so don't worry about rain). Food was amazing! I had veal and it was amazing and gf had carbonara and it was bumbastik ( x million amazing). Don't forget to ask for espresso m, their cups a so cute!

This place was on Staley Tuccis program on CNN. As a result, it is very difficult to get into. My best advice is to try it for lunch. We stood in line and got lucky. The food is worth the wait. The famous Amatriciana and Caccio Pepe were both the best we had. The Oxtail Rabbit and Veal were on the table too. All great. Oxtail was the best. Service. All of the people are great. However, you will need to be patient here. This is a small place surrounded by some well deserved hype. It's got a humble vibe and small kitchen. It's going to take a while. This is the best meal we had in Rome. But don't despair if you can't get in. Rome has great food.

We saw this on Stanley Tucci and knew we had to try it. Luckily, we were able to secure reservations a couple months in advance which I highly recommend because it was totally booked up. While we were touring Italy, we got in the habit of ordering 2 or 3 pasta dishes and sharing everything. This was a great way to sample the local flavors and get more variety! We started with bruschetta which blew me away. The marinated tomatoes were unlike anything I've ever tasted before. They were beautiful. The pasta was of course, absolutely incredible. We got the Al' Amatriciana and alla Gricia half portions. I really liked that we were able to order half portions. The waiter here was so friendly and nice, and she actually corrected our terrible pronunciation of bruschetta. It's pronounced brusketta with a k sound. Without her, we would be pronouncing bruschetta wrong for the rest of our lives.

Typically you are required to make a reservation months in advance, we tried everyday for 30 days and to no avail so we decided to shoot our shot and arrive 15 minutes before opening for dinner. We were 3rd in line and by miracle we got a seat after an hour wait (we ere the last group that they decided to serve that night and told the rest of the line that they would be getting in (call us lucky!). When we got seated we were astounded by Orlando the waiter, who was attentive and always came by with a smile. We were also welcomed by a sommelier and helped us choose wine based on the dishes we ordered. The food was divine (pasta perfectly cooked -- maybe the best we had in Rome, flavor profile was exquisite, dessert drinks were the perfect ending to our time there).

Stones throw from Rome's most intact ancient monument, Armando al Pantheon is the champions of local food culture for more than five decades and had a recent worthy mention on wine spectator's "101 reasons we love Italy". The Gargioli family has been dutifully producing Roman classics like spaghetti ajo ojo e peperoncino (spaghetti with garlic, oil, and chile) and coda alla vaccinara (oxtail braised in tomato and celery). Among the seasonal side dishes, look for puntarelle (Catalonian chicory) with anchovy sauce and carciofi alla romana (simmered artichokes) in the cooler months. The thinly sliced veal with pancetta was cooked perfect. Reservation is a must and books up) one month ahead. We called on the same day to try to get our names on the list and we are the first to line up at around noon (restaurant opens at 12:30). We scored one of the 5 tables outdoors at around 1pm.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

I had possibly the most amazing chick food pasta a girl could imagine. Girls know what girl food is. The pasta in Italy is just better -obviously. But then put all sorts of girl flavors on it like Lemon and Orange, just lightly enough, zest with a small hint of cheese-..... omgosh. Yes, yes, and yes. Need my hubs to replicate at home. He is going to be busy trying to perfect this. Tagliatelle with orange and lemon parmesan. This was it. It was the best. Everything else we ordered was amazing as well. Wait outside. They don't have a sign telling you to wait, no server telling you to wait. You wait out there, wondering if you're in the right place, but then people stand behind you and you're like - oh! I'm here. This is the place. There are possibly 4 tables inside. It's small. I read about them being rude- we did not have that problem. So happy we did as this place definitely delivers. There is seriously like 8 tables in the dining room so expect a wait in line but trust me, it's worth it. We waited outside for about 25 minutes. They do take your order while in line so the wait for food (once you do get a table) is abbreviated. Out of the world pastas and the pistachio tiramisu is seriously out of this world.
