Opens at 6pm and we had that reservation. Seems like there take some walk ins but they get those with reservations seated first. We sat outside cuz it's summer evening but was still hot out there. The staff was super nice and friendly with great recommendations. We had the carbonara and the special ossobuco. Every part of the meal was amazing. The tiramisu was especially wonderful. Wish I was around longer, I would have definitely been back

ive been underwhelmed by the pizza in italy but the pasta broke the streak. better than anywhere else. Rigatoni all'Amatriciana was simple. Carbonara was different. it was so egg forward and the crispy meat was perfect. simple pastas that got the pasta noodles and the sauce right.

We were lucky to secure a reservation during our visit to Rome and couldn't be happier. Tucked away on a side street near the Pantheon, the dining room is cozy and quaint. Service was warm and welcoming and helped pick out a wine for us. The food was some of the best we encountered while in Rome. The standout was the rigatoni amatriciana-loved the richness of the guanciale in the dish. Truly outstanding. The veal was also excellent. Due to the size and popularity, you will definitely want to make reservations.

I was so happy to say this lived up to the hype! This was the reservation I was most excited for and it was a great time. Based on location, service and food I think this was my overall favorite visit in Rome. I started with an artichoke and mozzarella. The mozzarella was so fresh and moist. My husband is not a huge artichoke person but, we were both fighting for the last bite. For dinner I had Gricia. The sauce was silky smooth with a perfect salty bite from the guanciale. I wish I could eat this meal every night. The tiramisu was expertly done! Not soggy but not hard. Full of creamy and coffee flavors. The service was helpful and quick. You could tell they had a seating after us but, they did not rush.

Three of us had dinner on a weeknight. We had made reservations a month in advance online. When we arrived on time , we were seated immediately at the only one open table. Many people were being turned away. Reservations are a must here! It took awhile to take our order. Like a long while. We ordered a white wine that they were out of. Maybe that was the holdup? She recommended a similar white wine at the same price. It was good. We learned they only have cacio and Pepe at lunch. For our pasta course, I got the carbonara, my cousin got the Amatriaciana (served with rigatoni), and my friend the the grigia (similar to cacio and Pepe). I liked my carbonara the best although it was heavy. My cousin and friend both liked the Amatriaciana best. For our main we got the veal Saltimbocca and the veal special. Also we added a side of chicory. The veal Saltimbocca was the best. It was pounded paper thin and the prosciutto was high quality. The veal special was not what any of us expected. We could have skipped that in retrospect but it sounded good on paper. The chicory was too spicy for me to eat; I wish I had gotten a salad instead. I had to leave before dessert to take a call. They got a strawberry ricotta torte and thought it was very good. Very reasonably priced. A solid 3.5 but rounding up to 4 due to location and price point.

This I have heard so much about from so many famous foodies! Where traditional pastas are made well and I wanted to try it. Customer service here is amazing! They definitely know their menu and easily make suggestions. It is a must to make reservations here and they only open 30 days before hand and go fast. You can try your luck on the day. Had a classic cacio e Pepe which was good but I must say not the best I have had in Rome . The standout for me was the lamb. So tender and juicy. Perfection. I also had the torta roma I believe. I asked what they suggested was their best and I am really happy to have had this. It was sweet yet not overly so. You can get tiramisu everywhere so for him to pick something new for me and was delicious - I highly recommend. I would love to go back and try the recommended carbonara on my next trip. Honesty, there is a vibe to this place that's very comfortable.

I was able to snag a reservation about a month before my visit to Italy which worked out great as I was able to time it with my visit to the Pantheon (restaurant is across the street). I was greeted warmly when I arrived and shown to my table. I started with an arugula salad which was perfect. I'm usually not a big arugula fan but this salad converted me. The gnocchi with ribs was a special and was divine. Meat was fall off the bone tender and a perfect complement to the gnocchi. I had the tiramisu for dessert which was so creamy and delicious I forgot to take a picture Paired with a lovely red wine recommended by the waitress and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Tip- try and get a reservation beforehand- a few folks were turned away without one due to a full house.

Our travel agent booked our party of eight reservations at this restaurant. She told us this was a Michelin restaurant and hard to get reservations. The food was good but it was served to us by a waiter with a heavy dose of body oder making interactions with the waiter very unpleasant. I still am not sure why this restaurant is in demand or what it received a Michelin star for as it seemed to be very average....

We had a great experience while on our honeymoon here. We came here for our anniversary dinner. I would suggest getting a reservation if you come at night. They fill up very quickly. When we came, there was indoor seating and outdoor seating inside the tent with the heat lamps. Beautiful views of the Pantheon if you are outside on the street. The employees spoke Italian and English. Excellent service, our waiter constantly check on us. I don't remember if there was a coperto, the receipt I posted doesn't show it. They close around 3pm and reopen around 7pm for dinner. Keep that in mind if you are trying to come for a late lunch. The food was amazing. A lot of great appetizers, pasta and meat to choose from. I'm not a big fan of artichoke, but I really enjoyed it crispy with the fresh mozzarella. I had Carbonara pasta. Loved the sauce. The guanciale that's in the pasta is now a favorite of mine. Hard to find good carbonara in the states. Will definitely come back here the next time I visit Rome.

Definitely make a reservation for this restaurant! We did not but we got pretty lucky - we lined up minutes after they opened for the night and were able to get a reservation for a couple hours later. We were the last couple to get a table for the night. As a vegetarian that also has an egg allergy, I was worried I wouldn't have any options here. I was wrong! Unfortunately I only had one option since most of the pastas had meat in the sauce. I ordered the black truffle pasta and it was out of this world! The pasta was super delicious and the portion sizes were satisfying. The pasta was a little too al dente for me but otherwise very flavorful and truffle filled! My husband ordered the rigatoni and the cod fish and loved both! I also ordered the chicory and it was SO delicious!

Wow wow wow! I had high expectations, and this dinner met them from start to finish. It is right next to the Pantheon, but it is not your typical tourist trap - this kitchen understands the rich culinary history of Rome and serves up dishes that honor those traditions. The restaurant is small and intimate, with memorabilia on the walls, and the service is excellent. Start with an artichoke cooked Roman style, along with some fresh mozzarella cheese. The quality and taste of the local food will blow you away! Then, take your pick of any of the four pastas of Rome (cacio e pepe, gricia, carbonara, or amatriciana) and give them a try. The carbonara is my favorite. It was rich and silky smooth, perfectly cooked - I'd eat it every night if I could. I wish we could get ingredients of this quality in the United States. The desserts are also great. I tried the brownie, but the star is the tiramisu - not too crunchy, but not too soggy. This was all around an amazing experience and we will be back!

Yes! That's the spot you want to visit after long walks in Rome. Don't mind bad reviews! Despite, reservation issues you still can be accommodated as a walk-in. People just don't want to seat outside in a nice outdoor sidewalk tables ( construction is covered from two sides so don't worry about rain). Food was amazing! I had veal and it was amazing and gf had carbonara and it was bumbastik ( x million amazing). Don't forget to ask for espresso m, their cups a so cute!

This place was on Staley Tuccis program on CNN. As a result, it is very difficult to get into. My best advice is to try it for lunch. We stood in line and got lucky. The food is worth the wait. The famous Amatriciana and Caccio Pepe were both the best we had. The Oxtail Rabbit and Veal were on the table too. All great. Oxtail was the best. Service. All of the people are great. However, you will need to be patient here. This is a small place surrounded by some well deserved hype. It's got a humble vibe and small kitchen. It's going to take a while. This is the best meal we had in Rome. But don't despair if you can't get in. Rome has great food.

We split a salad that was big enough for a meal, my wife had the bolognese, and I had the steak. It was super rare, but as I cut into it, I would lay it onto the stone to allow it to cook a bit more. I like it on the lean side of medium rare and my wife prefers a bit more. This was perfect for us to both enjoy it the way we like. Her pasta was excellent as well and we enjoyed sharing the meal. A bottle of wine topped off a great dinner. The weather was rainy so we opted to sit inside and it was warm and welcoming. Our waiter was helpful with our choices and we enjoyed his observations. The only thing I can say that was off, was the older woman who was paying her bill before me was pressured into leaving a tip ( service charge, is what he said). I was prepared for that but was not asked to tip. Great meal, we enjoyed it immensely, but the service charge that was scammed out of the 70+ year old lady in front of me kind of left a sour taste in my mouth. I was going to tip a few euros because we enjoyed ourselves so much, but decided not to because of the way it was presented to the party before us.

We had a calzone and traditional spaghetti and both were delicious. I don't even know how to describe the calzone. It was unlike anything I've had before but SO good. I literally cleaned my plate with the last of the breading from it. The owner/chef was Luca. He was upset with the host because he had burned the plastic on the outdoor tent as he had placed a heater too close to it. To be honest, he seemed like a bit of a jerk, but his food was freaking delicious.

This is no ordinary pizza place, it's a forno, which is Italian for oven. Naturally, someone here looked at the bread, looked at the toppings, and said, Yes, this shall be pizza now. Red, Green and White like the Italian Flag. Regal. Nostalgic. Tastes like a monarchy that actually works. Then came the potato pizza, which, let me tell you, was a surprise carb ambush. Like, Oh cute, a slice of starch on starch. Bread with potatoes on it. For when your body is craving a food coma. And then came the Marinara, my personal Roman romance. No cheese, all attitude. Spicy, saucy, simple. Like that one ex who was too intense but kind of unforgettable. Let's talk style: Roman pizza is not your floppy Neapolitan mess that folds into a pizza burrito the moment it hits your plate. No no, Roman pizza stands its ground. It's a little thicker and definitely crunchier. You don't need to roll it, cradle it, or whisper encouragement. It just is. And I love it more than I probably should. It is with a heavy heart that I write this review…read more.. As a vegetarian who wishes she was a vegan, I want to love all vegan restaurants. I especially wanted to love this tiny place set off of restaurant lined Via della Lungaretta in Trastavere as the signage touted "cruelty free" and there is not a plethora of vegan restaurants in Rome. The sandwiches pictured on the menu appeared appetizing, although most featured fake meat which should have been the first indication that I was about to be disappointed. I ordered the focaccia vegan, and on the recommendation of the only employee on duty during the busy lunch rush, my mom ordered the vegan burger and my dad ordered the vebab. The customer ahead of us had placed a very large order so we had to wait about 30 minutes for our food at a place touted as "fast food". Each sandwich came with a salad of lettuce and tomatoes, which was fresh and nice but nothing special, as well as a side of some unidentifiable potato concoction that resembled fingers and, maybe this is the American in me, was in serious need of ketchup. When our food was finally ready, I was so thankful I had saved the majority of my water bottle, as my sandwich was almost completely bread with a tiny slice of frittata in the middle. The bread had been previously frozen (I was looking at it in the freezer in front of my seat) and was therefore very dry and I could literally only choke down about half of it (I only ate that much because at this point I was starving). My parents had similar experiences, and my dad's fake kebab meat had a very strange flavor. The adorable couple from Hamburg, Germany who arrived after us summed it up quite eloquently and politely by saying "um... We have had better!". One star for the very sweet service from the woman working there all by herself, and also for the baby who kept waving and laughing at me.
