- Macarons are huge, not the best flavor, but the size makes up for it. Order the Pistachio flavor! - Croissants here have such creative fillings! I had the apple pie and I thought the apple pie flavor was great but the croissant itself was ok. The top of the croissant was baked a little too long so it was dark brown and too hard. - Ube malasada was great, a little too much filling but I didn't mind it too much. - Beef curry was amazing!! I wish they would have heated it up or kept it in warmed environment because that would've taken it to the next level - It was my first experience here and it seems like they constantly get business here which creates a sense of rushedness in the employees. I fumbled on my words as I was ordering my macarons and the employee got annoyed and rolled her eyes at me (like geez who pissed in your coffee, girl). I guess you better know exactly what you want and say it really fast or else they'll get pissed off at you. -__- read more

Do you know how when you walk into a bakery you do a quick scan of the case to see what looks the freshest & yummiest? I came in during a Monday afternoon and everything in the case looked absolutely delicious - it made it so hard to choose. The two women working were so friendly and helpful, and led me to try the crunchy creme (the outside texture is soo good), beef curry (a must try!) and chocolate croissant (so soft but not as much chocolate as most may like). I do think the prices are a bit on the pricey side but it's worth it. Definitely coming by to try it all. read more

I'm really partial to the International District location but this one has the selection, space and parking on my paper route, so here's where you'll find me now. Fuji is actually the best bakery in Seattle..period. Try to get there in the morning/early afternoon(/order online!!!!), sometimes they'll sell out of most stuff by like 3pm. Their baked goods are amazing! Recommend their Dark chocolate mousse, malasadas, their shokupan and the Russian tea cookies. Simply amazing.

Fuji Bakery has several locations. The closest to me is in International District but they tend to sell out of their pastries pretty quickly by noon/afternoon. I was in the area and stopped by their Queen Anne location. This location is HQ for Fuji Bakery. Parking: You can pull up to the side of the curb & quickly get in and out OR opt to park in their lot. Just be mindful that their lot is small. It's easier to back in to the spot so you can get out without any issues. Food: The food quality at Fuji Bakery was just a-ok to me. The only memorable item out of this pastry haul was the Crunchy Cream Pan. I opted to try the following: Azuki Donut: The buttery brioche donut did taste as good as the Crunch Cream Pan for some reason. I was not impressed by the Azuki even though it's a crowd favorite. Curry Pan: I was disappointed how little meat filling was in the curry pan given how pricey it was. This one was the least memorable of the group. Crunchy Cream Pan: This was the only pan out of the three where the filling was actually filled from top to bottom on the inside. The sweetness of the vanilla cream custard and crunchy corn flake texture of the outside was divine! I'll be back to try the Ube Pan and other pastries another time. read more

So so good! Went here for the first time around noon on a Saturday on our way to Elliot Bay, and super happy we finally tried it. I have driven past it numerous times on our way to the boat and regret not trying it earlier. People have mentioned that you should order ahead on the weekends because they run out regularly but we had no issues picking out lots of yummy things to try. If you are wanting specific items it might be worth ordering ahead though. High quality and unique Japanese/French inspired bakery items with lots of savory and sweet options. Better than any other bakeries around Seattle in my opinion. sriracha chicken sando- 4/5 stars, rotisserie style chicken with spicy mayo, lettuce and tomato lilikoi malasada- 4/5 stars, soft malasada donut with passionfruit filling ham and cheese croissant- 5/5 stars, crispy like a panini pear croissant- 5/5 stars, croissant with custard and a pear baked in the middle bacon and mustard epi- 5/5 stars, mustard and lots of bacon bits wrapped in a pretzel-like dough read more

The cannelé was ok but confusing. The sign said it had custard inside but it was just some sort of bread/cake. Not sure if thats how they're supposed to be made, but then the sign should be revised because I don't think that's what custard is. The malasadas were superb, but the service was a bit slow. read more

I came here the first time today. The employees wore Santa Hats for Christmas Eve. Parking was relatively easy on the curb. I did like how everyone in there was Japanese-American when I went. That's rare to see in Seattle where Japanese-Americans seem so spread out around the city (I live in West Seattle so I rarely go to Beacon Hill). I agree with another reviewer that there is a sense of rush with the employees. I was equally in a rush and knew what I wanted. My speed/decisiveness matched their energy so it worked out. The variety of goods along with the cultures represented in the flavors, ingredients and/or cooking techniques is creative. They are priced fairly. Part of that may be location. However, it lacks a sense of pretentiousness I find in other French bakeries. I found everything I got was excellent (the Caramel-Apple Macaron was more like a 4/5 though). Check it out. read more

Stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon as I was driving by with my girlfriend. I've been to the Chinatown location several times, so I figured that I should visit this location too. It's a pretty visible pink building on Elliot that's hard to miss, and it has its own parking lot which is super convenient. We were the only customers at the time, but I'm sure there's more customers in the mornings (especially since it's right across from Expedia HQ) and on weekends. We got the pear tart, cinnamon roll cruffin (croissant + muffin), and matcha fizy lemonade. The pear tart was amazing - the soft pear was sitting on a light bed of custard atop a flaky pastry. It was sweet but not too sweet, and the textural contrasts created an enjoyable bite. And the cinnamon roll cruffin was AMAZING - the cinnamon buttercream wasn't heavy like normal buttercreams, and there was a perfect amount of cinnamon sugar. The actual cruffin was light and airy, which I've determined is far superior to the more traditional, dense muffin. The only knock would be the matcha fizy lemonade - the matcha and lemonade flavors actually tasted like two separate flavors rather than one cohesive one, so I wouldn't recommend getting this as a beverage. The pricing is typical of pastry shops in the Seattle area. There isn't much going on in the interior, and I actually found the inside to be a bit dreary since there wasn't any music playing or anything to cut through the silence. There's some small cafe-style seating outside of the bakery if you want to enjoy your treats fresh. Fun fact: This is the main location where all of the baking happens. Each morning, bakers arrive around 4 am and start baking, and at some point, they have to deliver baked goods to the Chinatown location. They have some unique pastries that I haven't seen anywhere else in the Seattle area, including ube and lilikoi malasadas (Hawaiian donuts) that I've had from the Chinatown location before. I recommend stopping by either location if you can for a light breakfast pastry and some coffee. read more

I love their pastries -- both the savory + sweet ones! Oh, and their pork katsu sando! The first time I ever had their kare-pan was magical. I watched them bring out a new batch and decided to change my order to that. They tasted like they had just been taken out of the fryer -- so warm and perfect. I would NOT recommend their iced matcha latte because it's [too] sweet and also the matcha is potentially of a lower quality as the color of the drink is always a lighter green vs a vivid green. I've given it a few tries to see if it was a fluke and it isn't something I'd ever order there again. It doesn't even taste like matcha. read more

This place is absolutely delicious. I got the melon pan, a crunchy corn flake crusted pastry which I forget the name of, and a chicken katsu sandwich. If you purchase a sandwich and a pastry, you get a drink for free! The sandwich is pre-made but it was good even later on in the day. The katsu was still crunchy. I got 2 pastries, a sandwich, and as cup of coffee for a little under 11 bucks. Definitely will be coming back! read more

Fuji Bakery is pretty awesome! They have this storefront and also one in Chinatown/International District so either one you go to will have tasty treats for you. This shop off Elliot is a lot larger and have about the same amount of selections. Had to get some treats on a Saturday afternoon so I stopped by here to grab a few things. Been here a few times so far, so if you come in the morning they will have more selections available. But after lunchtime, the selections weren't bad. Of course I had to get the Crispy Crunchy, which is my fave, love the outer cereal like crunchiness! It's like frosted flakes on the outside of a donut. I've had a few of their croissant treats and most of them are pretty good like the coconut mango one. I think that's what it was. Not a big fan of green tea or matcha but I had to get one of Green Tea Matcha Roll as a gift, but they enjoyed it very much and I took a bite to see if I would like it and it was pretty good. Been to both locations and have been very satisfied with Fuji. I like the fact that their pastries aren't super sweet and are light. Opinions vary but I like what they pumping out. They have some lunch options too here but haven't tried that because I mainly come here for pastries. Prices are pretty good and seem worth it to me to the quality you get. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. Fuji is definitely a place to check out and get a treat or three for yourself. read more

I keep coming back to Fuji Bakery, usually Sunday morning on my way up to the Ballard Farmer's market, because their pastries, sandos, and desserts are all delicious. Fuji Bakery is so good! It seems to be a French/Japanese fusion bakery. It gave me a little nostalgia for Japan - I highly recommend the matcha malasada, blueberry tart, and egg sandwich. They have other Japanese flavors incorporated into their pastries - ube, azuki, yuzu, etc. Also, the customer service was amazing and the pricing is pretty good for such high quality. FAV BAKERY! This location has an amazing selection and always great variety. I've now started pre-ordering online for faster pick up (and to guarantee my favs don't sell out before I get there) which is super convenient. Quality is always top notch and prices are very reasonable in my opinion. Croissants are always flaky, doughnuts always fluffy and fillings are ample. I literally can't think of a negative... other than I always end up buying way too many pastries and eating them all :P Crunchy cream/custard doughnut is a must! Ps. for a delicious savory treat, try out the beef curry doughnut or the pie. YUM! read more

The green tea cookie was nicely done, with just the right amount of white chocolate in every bite. The an donut, or red bean donut, was right on. The I've donut was ok.... I kind of hoped it would be mashed like the red bean. What made me knock a star off was the matcha cruffin. There was a huge hole in the middle. I used to work in French kitchens where croissants were made daily... any time you have major air going on inside this type of raised layer dough, there is something wrong with the formation temperature, and the overall lamination. The flavors were good... I just couldn't overlook the gummy wad of unbaked croissant dough hanging on one side of the cruffin. Hard pass! Also the macarons did not have an evenly spread filling. Overall I would come back if passing this place by for a donut or cookie, otherwise I would not go out of my way. read more

Super cute bakery with really friendly staff and great asian desserts/savory pastries. Ube Malasada: very similar to a filled donut; a tiny bit denser while still being really fluffy. Perfectly sweet and crunchy outside without being too oily or heavy and the ube cream was so light and tasty. Lemon curd blueberry croissant: one of those flat pastries made with croissant dough and topped with lemon curd and blueberries in the middle. The pastry was crispy and flaky and not too oily like some croissants can be. So many layers and really good lemon curd/blueberry flavor! read more

Savory or sweet? Which do you prefer? Either way, you're covered at Fuji Bakery, as there are plenty of options for both. I'm a savory guy (ha) and my Fuji favorite is the BACON CHEESE. It's salty, meaty, greasy, cheesy, and bready all at once. What a perfect morning meal to fuel a day full of work. There are other buns and rolls with salmon or beef, and mushroom things, too, but nothing compares to that bacon cheese epi. Is Fuji's croissant better than Besalu's? C'mon now, we know it's not, but risking your life crossing four lanes of traffic makes every single item in Fuji's bakery taste better. Maybe it's the pre-pastry adrenaline rush that adds to the experience? Yes, the croissant is still worth it. Parking poses a predicament, so be aware, and look for spots just south of the building or on the street. Be careful opening that car door. Throw darts at anything in the display line and you'll come up smiling. Check out those macarons and cream cakes in the cold case. Whether you're shopping for a birthday or for breakfast, you will surely be satisfied with the selection at Fuji. P.S. Sorry, no dim sum style egg tarts here. I cried my first time, too. read more

Got a BLT and it was pretty good. I liked the texture of the bread and how the lettuce was a little crispy. I thought the bacon was going to be crispy too but I forgot that since it's inside a cold sandwich they probably can't be. Other than that, I really liked the sauce that they had with it but I think they put a little too much inside so that the sandwich was a little too flavorful. Other than that, it was a pretty standard sandwich experience. read more

I always see the bakery on my way to work and finally had a chance to tried their pastries. Due to covid19, they are limiting amount of people entering the store. The line moves relatively quick and you can always order in advance for pickup. It was my first time visiting so I wanted to go to the store and see what they have. I heard amazing things about the beef curry pan and unfortunately they were out of them that day. The staff recommended the beef pie which has the same filling. In addition, I got crunchy cream malasada, ube cream malasada, almond croissant, matcha cruffin, and jalapeno cheddar bread. My favorites are crunchy cream and ube cream malasada with the dough being soft and delicious light cream in the center. Each bite was so satisfying. Nothing special about the jalapeno cheddar that the jalapeno was spicy but I can't taste much of the cheddar. The almond croissant is more dense than I expected the cream filled center adds on the flavor! Matcha cruffin was dense with bland layers of croissant coated in a solidified, waxy matcha icing that the matcha flavor doesn't seem to blend in well into the pastries and hard to bite; personally wouldn't get it again. The beef curry pie filling was yummy and fills with flavor but a bit disappointed to the pie crust that is a bit thick; really hope to try the famous beef curry pan. Definitely would come back again to try other items! read more

East meets west Japanese French bakery. In my opinion one of Seattle's underrated bakeries. I kinda went overboard today and regret not picking up more savory pastries. The beef curry pan was simply OMFG. All of this for under $20 too, but I did get the strawberry shortcake for free. It's impossible to try everything even on multiple visits. I'm glad this location is easy access to me because I can't make any excuses to not stop by. read more

I have been in the moving process from downtown to Magnolia and have been driving past Fuji Bakery regularly for the past two weeks. If you know the street, it's right off Elliott, hard to miss with their giant sign on their building. My aunt mentioned she'd been before and said they had some good Asian breads. So this morning, I had to drive to work in downtown and decided to stop in. OMG, I am so happy I made this my breakfast stop this morning! So worth it! An hour after I got into work, I was wishing I bought more breads and pastries from here! I ordered: - crunchy cream (DELICIOUS! Like a fried doughy thing covered in crispy cornflakes and sugar and there's custard in the middle) - miso katsu sandwich (this was more delicious than I thought it was going to be!) - plus for ordering the sandwich and getting a pastry, I got a free drink - $7.50 I am definitely a fan of this place and will be going more often now that I live pretty close to it! read more

Poor service. Many of the malasadas had run out even by the end of the morning. Overall, disappointing experience.

I love Fuji bakery. Every time I'm craving a treat, I always head down to Fuji. It's also great that it's walkable from my place. And when I really want to earn it, I'll run a long loop and end at Fuji as a treat for the hard work. The only problem is that every time I go thinking I'll walk out with max 2 pastries, I always come out w/ a box full of them. The two things that I always get (if available): the ube donut + egg sandwich. The go-to's and fav snack of the day. No matter what you choose, you cannot go wrong. My friends even surprised me with a cake from them. Classic Asian cakes that are so light and airy topped with fresh slices of mango. Honestly, it was heaven. read more

Make sure to use their adjacent side parking lot or risk getting taken out along Elliott Ave W - Interbay. Two lanes of fast moving traffic going both ways. I've visited three times and consistently my favorite are the Diamond Head. Pineapple puff pastry deliciousness. Second is Fraise = strawberry and pistachio puff pastry awesomeness. My son says their pain au chocolat rivals Café Besalu. Pastries are treated so regally - use of tongs and placed on a platter before placed in a pink pastry box. Remember this pretty much works as a commissary for the Seattle/International District and Bellevue retail sites. So depending on the time of day - you may have plentiful choices or a tiny selection. Their product line speak volumes and fairly priced for its quality. read more

This was one of my favorite places when I visited Seattle!! The unassuming building and small parking lot makes it easy to overlook the place, but you must give it a try! They had loads of different pastries like macarons, croquettes, croissants, and the list goes on. We ended up just getting the smoked salmon brioche and an almond croissant, but I wish we got more! The two pastries were perfect and I was so impressed at the crispy layers of the croissant and the sweet paste on it. The two people working the front were very sweet and patient. The parking is a little awkward since the parking lot is tiny, but it's well worth the effort.
