Frosty's Caffe used to be the only Vietnamese restaurant I would go to when I was younger, but I have not been in years so I was excited to go back and see if it was everything that I remembered it to be. I was pleasantly surprised because their food was still as delicious as it was years ago! I ordered the grilled shrimp and pork vermicelli which was super good. They gave me a ton of pork and I just loved how they cooked and seasoned it. The portion size was huge and their veggies were fresh. It's everything I want in a vermicelli bowl! I will say they were a little pricy especially with most of their add-ons being $4 when at other places it's around $2. However, the staff was friendly and they were extremely fast. Took my mom out for lunch and we decided to try this place out after seeing the review. When we walked in, no one was there to greet us or take our order once we grab a table. I had to walk up to the front checkout to place my order. Mom wanted the Vietnamese crepes but they were out of it so we settled for the CharGrilled shrimp for her and I had the Wonton Soup. My mom food came out first and I was about to return it back to them but mom being mom, she didn't want me to make a fuss about it. If you look at my picture of her food, you can see that her shrimp was over dry. She end up not eating it all and I had a taste of it. The shrimp was dry and tasteless. My Wonton was good but the broth was way too sweet. I've never had iceberg lettuce with Wonton soup before and I don't care for it. My two star is for the decent smoothie drinks I ordered. If you're in the Metairie area and are looking for bubble tea / coffee/ smoothies and Vietnamese food (it is definitely worth stopping by!) Fresh fruits is the keyword here, you can also see the fruits displayed in the ordering area so it's definitely fresh. WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!! I would highly recommend bubble tea consumers to visit other tea places in the area such as KungFu Tea or Share Tea which are within 5-10 mins of this ratchet place. I ordered a Strawberry - Banana Smoothie but the man who serviced us gave me the slushee. Once I received my drink I noticed that milk was not included. I then asked the skinny ugly mf that blends the teas if I had milk in the beverage. He then gives me a nasty attitude. Attitude was nastier than the establishment for no reason at all. I have been coming here for years for bubble tea. If you've never tried one, you don't know what you're missing. I love the mango & my daughter gets the strawberry. We prefer ours without milk & we don't like the tapioca pearls. We just request that they omit them but I am sure it is delicious both ways. The food and service is good but I was shocked with how much the prices have been raised. I admit I should've asked my total when placing my order over the phone but I don't think one entree and one bubble tea should cost $30, even in this economy. I'm rating this a 4/5 because the last couple of times I tried to go they were closed during their business hours. So def give them a call before driving all the way out there. The food is pretty good. I would recommend the Caesar chicken wrap. They also have a good selection of boba teas. My personal favorite is an iced Vietnamese coffee. If you like the texture of really creamy scrambled eggs but with the faint taste of banh xeo from home and nuoc mam, then yeah i would recommend it to you.
