Great little Vietnamese Restaurant located in a remodeled former fast food establishment. It's conveniently located on a corner of Airline Drive. They have your staples of Vietnamese cuisine: phos, rice plates, vermicelli bowls, etc., but it's the unusual things I like to try. One of these is the Baby Pho Combos! These are called this because one gets a small ("baby") pho of one's choice and another item. I went for the Banh Mi and upsized it to a whole instead of a half. Definitely a good choice! I love this establishment in an OG lava rock Popeyes, and try to pop in at least once a month. I always get either the eye of round pho combo with pork spring roll or Grilled pork vermicelli. A Vietnamese iced coffee comes to the rescue if I need a pick me up. They also have Dr Pepper on the soda machine which is a win, too. And while I love the original Pho Orchid, this smaller location has everything that I need and still has the great in-house value meal which includes a baby pho, choice of side (I always get one spring roll) and a cold beverage. Recommend? Not particularly. This isn't a vegan establishment, but the dishes I got were. I got the veggie dumplings and the tofu vermicelli with peanut sauce. The veggie dumplings are your standard dumplings, I don't think these are house made. I asked for the vermicelli noodles with peanut sauce. The sauce is more on the sweet side. I want to thank them for not giving us the ugly look for showing up within an hour of closing. We had the pork rolls, a basic yet spot-hitting chicken white meat pho, and the spicy beef noodle. My one and only go to for Pho! Their beef broth is like no other and there grilled pork tacos are some of the best I've ever had. They are charred to perfection. Best pho around by far! I live in the French quarter and we have a pho place 5 minutes from my house. We drive 20 minutes to this place because of the quality of food and the service. As soon as we walked in, the lady at the counter welcomed us with a smile, the ordering was quick and simple and prices are very reasonable. I got the chicken pho and my husband got a noodle salad It came out quickly and omg the portions were HUGE!! The pho would probably feed 3 people lol. The pho broth was absolutely amazing! For me, this is one of those spots where I wonder why I bother looking at the menu because I always order the same thing. Grilled pork vermicelli/ bún. The pork is always perfectly cooked, seasoned, and cut in nice bite-sized bits. Nice lettuce to noodle ratio and the perfect amount of peanuts. Service is always sweet, and the bathroom is clean. Super impressed with this place. We stopped in because we wanted to visit Crumbl Cookie & from the outside, it almost looked closed/desolate and had barely any cars, but I'm glad we still went in. There were several tables of people seated, place was super clean, and I enjoy the quick service order counter. Food came out super quick and it was delicious. The menu is a bit brief (hence the Express) but their was plenty to satisfy everyone, veggie or meat eater. The best thing about this location besides the food, is the lunch special. You get 2 spring rolls or 2 banh mi, bowl of pho and a drink for $9.95. I particularly like the shrimp and pork combo spring rolls and the eye round steak pho served med rare with a little siracha added. Its located on the same side as Rouses on Airline towards New Orleans. You order at the counter and they bring it to you really quick so its perfect for a light and fast work week lunch. I have to say that the inside was clean. Yes it is an express spot. I ordered the shrimp spring rolls and shrimp phó. The spring rolls were much plain than what I am use to. They only had the vermacille noodles and boiled shrimp. No green shallots or nothing. The size was also smaller than I am normally use to receiving when an order is placed. Now, on the phó. The shrimps! ! They were so small. So small till they were even smaller once put in side the soup due to temperature. The broth was on the bland side.
