So happy this joint opened up again! Had a really fun time yesterday. Food was great, and our waitress was so nice and hustled like no other. But, this is what impressed me the most... I was with my mom, and we were reminiscing about a horrible restaurant experience we had elsewhere. A worker (didn't catch her name or position) overheard, approached us with a horrified and immensely concerned look on her face, and asked us if everything was okay! I laughed and emphatically said that we had a great time, and that we were talking about another place we dined at. She was visibly and genuinely relieved we weren't talking about Friendly's, and said she wants everyone to have a great experience (which we did!). I have been going to this Friendly's for YEARS, but as with all restaurants the prices have sky rocketed. After a prior visit where 3 salads cost me $51 (with the help of being way over charged for extra dressing), I limited my visits to maybe 3 a year. I decided to try the new drive-through in Rehobeth. Mozzarella sticks are very good but the ice cream sundae was horrible. The ice cream was freezer burnt and the walnuts were stale. How in the world does an ice cream restaurant serve freezer burnt ice cream and stale walnuts! Looks like I will be limiting my visits to one a year. So sad! read more

This is not your typical Friendly's Family run with a family atmosphere its like stepping back in time with what tastes like freshly made home cooked comfort food. Very very very clean The breakfast is amazing with a royal banana spit for desert. Turkey club is good here. read more

Ordered a chicken quesadilla and I couldn't find the chicken and was as hard as a rock was supposed to come with salsa got none and had a teaspoon of sour cream in container will never eat here again. So very disappointed, we ordered four meals. One was a salad which my daughter literally asked when she got it "did someone eat half my salad" my food was ice cold, my mothers boy was falling apart, and my daughters chicken tender meal was maybe two tenders and a handful of fries for 9.00??? We still tipped the counter lady b.c god knows it's not her fault. But after waiting in line for what felt like forever and getting ice cold food, we won't be back. And please understand I run a kitchen so I get things happen but veggies aren't hard and cold in a matter of seconds. I'd suggest new cooks, and also the potatoes in a bag shouldn't include plastic in the order! read more

We really enjoyed ourselves. This is the second time we have had a Friendly experience at this location. The food was very Senior Friendly. I had the Cheeseburger and my fiancee had a BLT. The wait staff was outstanding. The environment clean and comfy. All in all, an excellent experience! We will go there again. read more

This friendlys location is very good. It is very cute and small inside and is very clean. The service is very good and helpful. The food is very good. We ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, 2 crispy chicken salads that were on the 2 for 20 menu with mini mozzarella sticks, and a chipotle chicken ranch sandwich which came with a happy ending sundae which we got chocolate and cookies and cream with chocolate sauce. The salads were great and fresh along with everything else. The only problem about this friendlys, was we spotted a little caterpillar in the lettuce in the chicken sandwich. At least we knew the lettuce was fresh! I highly recommend this Friendlys location! read more

The inside of all of the other fast food restaurants in the area were closed because it was 10:30pm (drive through only). This Friendly's was the only place that was open that we could sit down at. The service was very good and the food was typical for a Friendly's (nothing great but pretty cheap). Thanks for staying open late! read more

Haven't been to Friendly's in several years. A nice surprise. Nice menu for kids and adults. Burgers were great. Macaroni and cheese on the children's menu was a winner. Children's menu was reasonable which included dessert. Adult menu was perfect. Great service read more

Food was OK, but service not so great. Waitress seemed distracted and disorganized. After seating and receiving beverages she then told us about all of the menu items that they didn't have available (also added that there were others that she couldn't remember) because they've been waiting on a delivery truck for days. Sounds like a management problem. She even told us that they were going to Walmart to buy food and supplies for the restaurant and the can of Folgers coffee they bought probably wouldn't last the night. read more

This place really is amazing! Clean. Organized. Service is awesome, and we weren't left waiting for 30 minutes for our ice cream. the ice cream was very good! I had a 3 scoop sundae with cookie dough balls and kit-kats. YUM! the servers are very polite and funny! the manager came to our table telling me he gave me too much ice cream, said "here, this should help", and pulled out a giant spoon from behind his back! it made my day! Been to this Friendly's in Rehoboth Beach a few times this summer and had to wait almost a half hour with only two cars in front of me at the drive thru. My last time there in August I decided to not wait at the drive thru so I walked inside to the counter. Yes it was kind of busy when I arrived but after waiting almost tem minutes at the counter with not one person approaching me to greet me I left. Icing on the cake and reason why I am posting this review is that tonight 10/2/22 I placed an order at the drive thru. Ordered a hot fudge sundae with chocolate chip ice cream and with no nuts and a Jim Dandy. After paying at the window I saw the receipt and noticed a 99 cent for walnuts. Decided to keep it to avoid waiting for another one to be made. Got home and saw the ice cream was an Oreo cookie and freaked out to see only ONE walnut. Really 99 cent for one walnut. My wife and I decided to buy our future ice cream at Acme. So sad I had to post this because I grew up with Friendly's and always had a great experience. read more

I am sooooo disappointed. I am a very loyal Friendly's customer and will drive out of my way to go to one. I look forward to our yearly trip to Rehoboth and schedule visits to Friendly's. I budget ice cream calories so I can enjoy a full Sundae. We get into town on Tuesday and the large sign says "dining room open" but go there and a sign on the door says "closed Tuesday and Wednesday because of staffing issues" - ok no problem. We go back on Thursday but the dining room is closed, again no problem we get dinner elsewhere and come back for ice cream to go. I tell the owner- I'll see you tomorrow and he says ok. So it is now Friday night - we were on the boardwalk , I skipped ice cream there and made every leave by 8:30 because the website said they were open until10 and didn't want to cut it too close. We get there before 9 and they are closed!!! Nothing on their phone/answer machine, nothing on website, nothing from the owner that they would be closed. So I skipped ice cream on the beach and made everyone leave for nothing. Ugggh! read more

Unreasonably slow service, expensive food, and ridiculous portions of ice cream. It took forever for our food to come out, including the dessert of all things. How long does it take to make a sundae? Had multiple hairs in one of the sandwiches we ordered. The manager's only solution was to refund the money for the hairy uneaten sandwich. I wasn't looking for a payday, but to get a sandwich with hairs in it and not get any sort of comp, left us feeling more disappointed than friendly. Won't be going back. read more

I heard Friendly's has gone bankrupt but they still exist in Northern Maryland and Coastal Delmarva. Cheap and Inexpensive mostly fast fried foods with a few salads thrown in and soup. I stopped at the one in Seaford, Delaware and It was dirty and disorganized but maybe they were just short staffed or something so I don't really think it is an accurate review since I only bought a Sprite to go so I could feel safe about using their bathroom. But most of my childhood especially summer's in Butternut Day Camp were spent getting counselors to buy us Fribbles (it is a large unhealthy milkshake) and going to Friendly's was a child's dream. My friend Eric used to play tennis and the only bet he would make with a counselor who had a car was a bet for a Mocha Fribble. I believe that was the only treasure they could hold over us when it came to calming a kid down. The times have changed and I don't think kids are even allowed to have milkshakes anymore , I don't even think they know what a milkshake is. read more

For some reasons they decided to sit us in the back next to the kitchen - not a pleasant experience. Even stranger given the place was only 50% full. Food was okay, service was fine, but sitting right next to the kitchen and hearing the moment-by-moment workload commentary, let alone seeing the inner workings of the kitchen wasn't exactly something that made for an enjoyable dining experience. I've eaten at this restaurant many times since moving to Delaware 7 years ago. The food has always been fairly good taste and portion wise. In the last year I have to say both have taken a nose dive. Their 4 Cheese Mac & Cheese usr to be nice and creamy and full of cheese and flavor. My last order was dry and lacking the good cheese flavor. When I asked about it, the manager apologized and offered to make it over, I accepted, to my surprise, it was exactly the same as the first. The manage then made the excuse that this is how we make it, that's the best I can do. My last visit I had the Patty Melt, which I have had previously but it has been awhile. WHen I got it and opened it up to put ketchup on it I was shocked to see a beef patty the size of a McDonald's hamburger both diameter and thickness. Again the manager came over and I showed her the size of the patty. She said that is our biggest patty 4.7 oz.. Most restaurants serve a half pound 8 oz. burger for between 6 to 8 dollars Friendly's burgers are 9 dollars and up for a 1/4 oz patty.
