Forced to rate four stars because of host. What can I say? I love First watch restaurants. I like their farm table approach. The fresh eggs are delicious. Pancakes are huge, you can share one!! I recently tasted the carrot and pecan, didn't really taste like carrot, but did have the pecans. It was tasty, but not what I expected. The only disappointment was the host's approach when I asked for a table for two. I immediately saw a table in a corner, so I asked if we could have that table and he turned to me and told me "be patient". Catching himself and realizing how rude that came off, he tried to smooth it off. I was taken a back. Notwithstanding our server was amazing. She was so pleasant very attentive and eager to please and making sure that we were OK. My delicious summer McMuffin, egg, bacon, turkey sausage Gruyère cheese, and arugula sandwich was just what I wanted for my palate. I had the orange beet and turmeric juice, which I always find refreshing. Ambience is busy, spacious seats and booths. It is a quick breakfast place and it does get busy notwithstanding they do attend to you quickly. The food is always served warm and fresh and it never disappoints. read more

The essential value of a restaurant is simple: get the orders correct, deliver the food to the table hot. First Watch failed on both counts, not for one diner but for all three. The lady of the group ordered eggs benedict which were served cold and quite congealed. One of the gentlemen ordered his eggs sunny side up. Instead, they were over easy. The Second Gentleman had ordered the soup and half sandwich combo, and instead received the soup and whole sandwich, which wasn't the special. This tells us several things. First, the server was disorganized and did not correctly capture any of the orders. Second, it takes us that if the orders were captured correctly, the kitchen messed up. But third, even if the orders were incorrect and the kitchen made them wrong, the server failed to check the orders before bringing them to the diners. There's absolutely no excuse for serving cold food. There's even less excuse for getting all the orders wrong. This is table stakes in any restaurant. read more

First Watch is definitely worth passing by. First thoughts upon walking in was the generic decor and atmosphere was comparable to 1980's welfare labels. The seating was cramped as well as overcrowded. Service 100% needs proper training or re-training, also the entire staff needs a review of basic etiquette on casual dining. My meal was bland. The French toast I order was basically 2 slices of stale dry bread with little to no taste or egg wash. My wife's million dollar potatoes were undercooked. I'll leave it at that. The bill was delivered quickly, that was a plus. The one perk with First Watch was the coffee in the lobby while waiting for a table. Besides that a major let down. read more

First, the good. If you are waiting to be seated, there is a nice coffee station where you can help yourself. The coffee was good. My daughter and I ordered non-alcoholic specialty drinks; mine was called something meditation which was a healthy drink with turmeric, beet juice, and other things. it was delicious. My daughter ordered a lavender lemonade which was simply lovely. For food, I ordered a trifecta which consisted of two eggs, pork sausage links, and a Belgium waffle with berries. Somehow, they keep the syrup warm. everything was delicious. My daughter order a dish with biscuits, turkey gravy, eggs w cheese, and potatoes. She said it was very good. We ended up sitting at the counter and our server was absolutely perfect. As we entered, there were quite a few people ahead of us. The front desk people made no particular effort to let us put our name in as it was confusing because so many people were sitting or standing around . Finally, we got our name in and were told it would be about 25 minutes. We were ok with that. But after a good amount of time, many people that came in after us were seated before us. I asked if our name was still in the queue only to find out that you can put your name in online before you get there which apparently everyone else was doing. It was our first time so we didn't know. We ended up sitting at the counter which was perfectly fine. Even the server was surprised that we hadn't been seated since we approached the counter earlier. The reason we went to the First Watch was that I had received a gift card. Surprise, surprise! With no advance warning, their gift card reader was not workin. OK...sounds like a YOU problem but it became a Problem for me. I really hadn't wanted to put this expense on my credit card but I was forced into that position. The cashier was very apologetic, I didn't blame her of course, but since they knew this, don't you think they couldve put a sign on the entrance? I suggested that and they said they would do that...at around 1:00. They close at 2:30. All in all, the food and drinks were delicious. The wait staff service was excellent. But they don't quite have it all together yet. Since I still have that gift card, I'll be back, but only to use the gift card, probably. I live in the area so I'll go back before beach season starts because they will be deluged with people when beach season starts. And now that Im reading other reviews, many address the online check in. I really do not favor that...I stopped going to a certain place because of it. To each his own. read more

Service was good. We were seated right away. Waitress was great but forgot our water until 1/4 way through meal. I had the pumpkin pancake special with a side of cheesey grits The cheese was melted on top and not cooked with the grits. Did not care for that, otherwise everything else was delicious. Hubby got an omelette and enjoyed his as well. Nice atmosphere, great plating and we were in and out in less than an hour. Highly recommend. read more

So excited to have these guys in the area. This is a solid breakfast spot with lots of great options and reasonable pricing. The trick is to make a reservation on their website so that you don't encounter an insane wait. We did this and got sat right away. Staff was friendly and helpful but the food did take long time to come out and our pancake came out before all our actual food. Everything tasted great but I didn't love my hash. It sort of just felt like an insane amount of potatoes and a few burned onions although it was supposed to have much more in there. Will be back but will prob stay away from the hash. read more

Can't say enough about the ability to get in line using their online waitlist. We got in line 30 minutes ahead of our arrival when the wait time was listed at 30-45 minutes. We were seated one minute after we arrived, while the lobby was full of people waiting. Now to the food--everything we ordered was delicious and served hot! The pancake was light and fluffy. Everything was flavorful and fresh. Seeing this place just opened a couple weeks ago, they are already on point with other First Watch restaurants I've been to. read more

Had a great experience here! The ambiance is great, it was super cozy and had farm like decor. The service was great. We had coffee and mimosas to start. First the very good-- parking is plentiful even when busy. There is an option to pour yourself a coffee if you have to wait to be seated, but as we entered the host asked how many and walked us immediately to table. Waiter arrived immediately and answered questions and returned with coffee. Food arrived in very reasonable timeframe--- Now the Meh BUT toast was cold and hard, and potatoes were undercooked (not fork tender). Both egg dishes were just fine-- no complaints. Guess I would say that atmosphere is good and they even have a bar! I spent 10 minutes unsuccessfully trying to get the table to stop wobbling, however, before the food came. So I guess it was clean and fine in a pinch on the way in or out of rehoboth, but disappointing. read more

I tried this First Watch in Lewes, DE, for the first time today. I had tried another First Watch in Gaithersburg, MD, some time ago, and that one was really good. Although I ordered something completely different last time (Avocado Toast with eggs). This time I tried the Tri-Fecta, which was two eggs any way, breakfast meat (I got the ham), and either a pancake or waffle. I also got a side of their multi-grain toast. I probably should've gotten the waffle as the pancake was a little overly done on its surface, but also a little too fluffy, meaning it was way too flaky and didn't hold together very well. Taste wise it was just ok. My waitstaff was very nice and apologized for the wait. Which, by the way, was kind of surprising given that I went pretty early and they were not that busy. On their check-in site, it said that the wait was about five minutes. I will say that by the time I was finished the place was starting to fill up and they were getting a line. So it may be contingent upon when you go. But they will probably need to bump up their staff once summer hits because it was not as quick as I experienced at the other First Watch I went to. Overall, though, not bad. It's reasonable, and the place is very clean. The food was decent so I would probably give them another shot. read more

I love first watch but this location isn't that good. I only came in for a pick up and was there waiting for a drink to be made for 15 minutes. The hostess literally sat and stared at me after she said my drink would be right out. Also they ignored all the customization of my meal i didn't even get the utensils i requested. This is an amazing place to get breakfast. I had one of the skillet hash and the person I was dining with had the elevated egg sandwich. Both were delicious. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back to try out lunch. They're brand new and I have to say for a new restaurant. Not impressed at all. Place felt like a warehouse. Ordered the Lemonade. Bland not much lemon flavor. Over priced. Had the Roast bee sandwidh. Was terrible. My first visit came last Friday with a friend who had not visited previously. The venue itself was well lit and open. The staff, especially our server was friendly and helpful. I went for the first time today at Lewes DE location and I ordered a single turkey sandwich with greens & dressing on the side. I ordered with a waitress who took my order. I waited for 20 mins to get my takeout order. I got home and they gave me ham (which I can't eat) and no salad dressing. They didn't get my ONE item order right. We won't be going back! read more

I was out running errands and decided to place an order online for pick up on my way home. I was surprised when I pulled into the parking lot how full the place was considering it had just opened at this location (and the fact that it was in between meal time). I walked into a line of people waiting to be seated, but everybody seemed happy and I realized why, the service was pretty quick. I got the salmon frittata and a side of grits for tomorrow (since they were Bob's Redmill and they're not the usual instant ones that I make). In spite of being packed, my order was ready within 15 minutes me placing it. When I got home, expecting typical chain breakfast takeout I was completely taken back by what I received. I may watch too much Gordon Ramsay, but the shallots and sun-dried tomatoes were all perfectly evenly sliced, so even after cutting up my frittata, I was getting balanced in each bite. A nice amount of wild salmon was in there too. I love that there's an option to come with a light greens salad tossed with lemon. Instead, I decided to 'reward' myself and got the side of potatoes instead. Such a great idea. However, the portion size was more than one would expect and there was no way I could've finished them all with my meal so looking forward to those tomorrow. The side of grits instead of being one of those little quarter cup scoops of a side that you get at most places, looks to be almost a full cup of grits. It was a pretty big bowl. Looking forward to those tomorrow as well. While I didn't love the service charge and the automatic tip plus the charge for the bag being it was reasonable, (less than $3) and overall, this was a great value for a meal, which is going to partially run into another meal. (seriously though if I had dined in and didn't finish my meal, would I've been charged for the bag and to go container?). And how can I forget... from the girl who greeted me at the door to the cashier to the maître D, every staff member I ran into in spite of being super busy we're wonderfully friendly. today was our first visit to First Watch DE. Upon entering we were cordially greeted by Bob and we were seated immediately. At our booth we were greeted by Angela who was just charming. Our food was served to us quickly--- coffee was great, I tried the breakfast with chicken apple sausage, eggs, hash potatoes and grain toast --- all were delicious. My wife had the avocado toast breakfast and she agreed the food was delicious. There were other dishes on the menu that we would like to try so we'll be back! read more

My family and I had an experience that was absolutely delightful and delicious, hands down. I am recommending this restaurant to everyone I know. We had Sherry as our waitress, and she was the best; she interacted with my 1yr old and satisfied all our needs while we were there. My mom and stepdad live in Pennsylvania, and they said we'll be going back there every time because there are so many more things they'd like to try. read more

Everyone is all a-twitter about this place. I was not impressed. There was no heat in the building so everyone was bundled up in winter coats hats and gloves. The food took a long time to be served and it had obviously spent time under the warmer as my eggs were lukewarm, toast cold and hash tepid. The server was polite.
