A solid choice for locals and tourists alike. They have a good selection of sandwiches and entree options for both breakfast and lunch/dinner. Seating is available inside and outside (Lewes) with the Georgetown location offering a view of the airfield. Service is usually good and the wait isn't too bad even on busy days. Definitely recommend the fish and chips as it's my favorite place for it.

We arrived at Arena's restaurant around noon and were greeted immediately. There was plenty of seats available outside so that is where we went. Our waitress, Kat, arrived shortly after we sat down to ask if we needed any drinks. I had a Bloody Mary and it was great! Kat returned shortly and was very knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered our food and it came out to us quickly. The food was wonderful. I had a half BLT and wow, that's a lot of bacon, wonderful! The sandwiches and salads were excellent. I recommend this restaurant.

The food is excellent and reasonably priced for the large portions you get. Everyone is always kind, pie sever Dayne was personable and helpful. The ambiance is nice as you can sit inside, or outside on a nice day. My wife and I like going for breakfast or lunch. Great crushes too! I had a really good grilled chicken wrap, the local hot sauce from The Delaware Sauce company is a nice touch too, with loads of flavor. Keep up the great work Arena's of Lewes! 5 stars all day. :)

Such a cute little place. Service was quick, even though there was not an empty table. Food tasted great. I had a make your own sandwich with egg, bacon and cheddar with a side of tots while my fiancée had two eggs. Seems to be a local place as well, as almost everyone seemed to know each other. If I lived closer, I would be here more often. Would love to come back on a Friday or Saturday night or even a weekday for happy hour.

We discovered Java Beach last time we were in Lewes, purely by accident while seeking an urgent caffeine fix. (We have four kids. 'Nuff said.) We happened upon the place around Sunday brunch time and it was fantastic! Even though the place was hopping, we squeezed our small clan into some chairs and ate incredibly delicious buttermilk pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, and coffees. On returning to Lewes this summer, it seems that Java Beach's owners have re-named the place to "Arena's", to link up with Arena's deli and bar in Rehoboth, which apparently are under the same ownership. This threw us for a loop initially but it's basically the same place, with the same menu (and the wait staff in the same Java Beach T-shirts!). Anyway, Arena's is the best diner-cum-bagel joint masquerading as a coffee bar that I've ever visited. Breakfast food is served all day -- and they still have those fantastic buttermilk pancakes, which our kids loved! -- and their sandwich selection is fantastic. I had Arena's Famous Italian Stallion, with balsamic vinegar soaked into a really soft Italian sub, while the missus had a breakfast wrap with egg, spinach, cheese, and tomatoes. The staff are very accommodating. For example, the kids wanted hot chocolates but one of 'em has a milk allergy. No problem! They offered to make that one with water. They were all delicious, and not sickeningly sweet. Arena's is now going to be a regular stop for us in Lewes. In fact, I think we may go there for breakfast tomorrow. The buttermilk pancake gods are calling...

Just had a cup of crab soup and drink. Soup was average Manhattan style. Expected more flavor and more crab.

I got a matcha latte and wasn't asked what kind of milk which I thought was odd. They ran out of cold brew as well and the iced americano was mid. We made it there on our second day and it's clear that this seems to be a favorite to both locals and visitors. Upon arriving, it was pretty difficult to find parking as all of the spots were taken, so we quickly located a spot on the residential street nearby. Walking in, the line was almost to the front door, but I didn't mind as it gave me plenty of time to peruse the menu for coffee and breakfast options. I loved seeing the coffee beans available for purchase as well as some of their merchandise on my way to the counter, in addition to admiring the hand-painted murals and so many cool seating options. The tables have really beautiful woodworking, many of which have raw edges which add a lot of personality. Order up! I opted for an iced latte with an extra shot of espresso (because I definitely needed an energy boost that day) and coconut flavoring, frozen matcha, the breakfast sandwich, and a glazed doughnut. I was really intrigued by the coffee smoothie which was featured and highlighted in multiple spaces. The term "smoothie" threw me off but I discovered from a fellow patron that it's simply a frozen blended coffee and they order it all the time. Loved checking out the outdoor seating options as well as the bar that shares the same local, Mary and Margs (SUCH a great name). Since we came in later in the morning/early afternoon, there were already quite a few people flocking to the barstools, ordering espresso martinis, which looked divine. I have to say that my coffee was delightful, you can tell that the beans were freshly ground and the extra shot of espresso really did the trick for me. The frozen matcha was delicious, 10/10, no notes! Would definitely get that again and would try the coffee smoothie next time. I ate my entire breakfast sandwich because I was starving but was expecting a lot more. The homemade biscuit is what intrigued me the most but I think I've been spoiled with some really amazing housemaid biscuit sandwiches back home so this one really fell short for me; it was kind of hard, a little burnt. All in all, this is a really cute, trendy spot, which seems to attract people of all ages with a very robust menu from morning to evening. Definitely want to come back and check out more items!

Unfortunately, the breakfast sandwich wasn't where it was at: the egg tasted more like microwaved egg, definitely wasn't fresh and somewhere the bacon tasted bland and tough like cardboard. The highlights were the drinks for sure! The mango smoothie was deliciously frozen and refreshing; perfect for a hot summer day. The service was okay, decently welcoming but not the best. Since we ordered to go, we were given our food in bags and boxes not on plates; they were placed on a ledge hanging on the table for us to grab. A Solid Bagel Stop in Lewes…read more I've eaten at Surf Bagel before, so on the way home from a recent business trip I decided to stop again and grab breakfast to go. I ordered a sesame bagel with egg, cheese, and scrapple, along with a hash brown. The bagel was nicely toasted and very fresh, which is really what you hope for when you're stopping at a place that specializes in bagels. The sandwich itself was simple but very satisfying. Nothing over the top or crazy fancy, just a well made breakfast sandwich that hit the spot. The service was friendly and quick, and the place itself has a unique feel to it. Inside they sell quite a bit of Surf Bagel merchandise, which gives it a fun local vibe beyond just being a bagel counter. I included a few photos because the shop has a cool look to it. I stopped in around 9 in the morning and it was still pretty busy, even during the off season. That tells me this place probably gets packed during the summer months. Overall, everything was fresh, the staff was nice, and it's definitely a place I'd stop at again when I'm in the area.

One of the Lewes residents recommended this place during my recent stay, and an excellent recommendation it was! Located about 3 miles from downtown Lewes, there is plenty of parking in the busy shopping center...which I always appreciate. Don't be surprised if there is a long line upon walking in as this place is popular with the locals. The smell of freshly baked bread is the first thing that hits you. There is a wide selection of croissants, cakes, muffins, cookies, rolls, danishes, and of course, loaves of bread. A complete list of their offerings can be found here: https://www.labaguettede.com/menus/#lewes-menu As I was vacationing with a group, we got a few items; but I opted for the namesake baguette. When we returned to the AirBnB, the skinny baguette was still warm and had the signature crispy-ish exterior and nice flaky interior. Spread on some butter with coffee, and that was a perfect breakfast. I forgot to take a pic, but the breakfast bacon, egg, and cheese sando was excellent. Crispy strips of bacon, fluffy eggs, melty American cheese, is contained within toasty bread. At $8.50, honestly that is a good deal since it was large enough for two meals. Service was efficient, albeit perhaps a bit brusk...but it was busy so I'm not gonna detract any stars. The staff behind the counter just want you to give the order and don't have time to engage in too much small talk. From start to finish, a large-ish order of 12 items (including 3 breakfast sandos) only took about 8-10 minutes. In additon to baked goods, there are grocery items, t-shirts/cups, and other retail items for sale. While there is limited seating indoors, if you're lucky enough, snag one of the small table outside to enoy dining al fresco.
