Clearly a super popular spot, but the coffee lives up to the hype. As we drove into Rehoboth Beach this coffee shop's distinct black and white exterior really called to my coffee-lover self, and I instantly made sure to flag it as one of the spots I would want to grab coffee during our stay. We made it there on our second day and it's clear that this seems to be a favorite to both locals and visitors. Upon arriving, it was pretty difficult to find parking as all of the spots were taken, so we quickly located a spot on the residential street nearby. Walking in, the line was almost to the front door, but I didn't mind as it gave me plenty of time to peruse the menu for coffee and breakfast options. I loved seeing the coffee beans available for purchase as well as some of their merchandise on my way to the counter, in addition to admiring the hand-painted murals and so many cool seating options. The tables have really beautiful woodworking, many of which have raw edges which add a lot of personality. Order up! I opted for an iced latte with an extra shot of espresso (because I definitely needed an energy boost that day) and coconut flavoring, frozen matcha, the breakfast sandwich, and a glazed doughnut. I was really intrigued by the coffee smoothie which was featured and highlighted in multiple spaces. The term "smoothie" threw me off but I discovered from a fellow patron that it's simply a frozen blended coffee and they order it all the time. Loved checking out the outdoor seating options as well as the bar that shares the same local, Mary and Margs (SUCH a great name). Since we came in later in the morning/early afternoon, there were already quite a few people flocking to the barstools, ordering espresso martinis, which looked divine. I have to say that my coffee was delightful, you can tell that the beans were freshly ground and the extra shot of espresso really did the trick for me. The frozen matcha was delicious, 10/10, no notes! Would definitely get that again and would try the coffee smoothie next time. I ate my entire breakfast sandwich because I was starving but was expecting a lot more. The homemade biscuit is what intrigued me the most but I think I've been spoiled with some really amazing housemaid biscuit sandwiches back home so this one really fell short for me; it was kind of hard, a little burnt. All in all, this is a really cute, trendy spot, which seems to attract people of all ages with a very robust menu from morning to evening. I stopped in this Saturday morning for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich and was very disappointed. The place is relaxed, coastal, and casual. The line wasn't out the door, but it was busy. I ordered a chai latte and the Rise Up breakfast burrito. My burrito came out in about 10 minutes, but my chai latte took 30 minutes. I understand it's peak season at a beach resort and staffing can be a challenge, but if an establishment cannot provide reasonable timing for orders, they should limit the number of customers they take at once. They continued accepting orders despite clearly being unable to keep up. The gentleman behind me waited 25 minutes with his wife and three children before leaving after paying because he said the wait was "insane," and I agree. For $17.25 for a coffee and a breakfast burrito, the experience was not worth it. Highly recommend avoiding this location during the season. Very disappointed. They can do better. read more

Ordered two burritos, the "Local" and the "Rise Up." The Rise Up came without potatoes, even though potatoes are supposed to be included in the burrito. I went back and asked an employee if they could remake it with the potatoes since they were missing, but I was told they were "out of potatoes." What makes no sense is that the other burrito I ordered actually did come with the potatoes. If they were actually out, I should have been told when I placed my order that the burrito would be missing an ingredient I was paying for. Instead, I received the burrito without the potatoes and was never told. I was then told that they couldn't give me a refund and that there was nothing they could do. So in the end I paid for a burrito that was not made as advertised, wasn't offered a replacement nor refunded. Honestly I left with a really frustrating experience, and it completely ruined my taste. I understand that restaurants can run out of ingredients, but if this is the case then customers should be informed beforehand and given a reasonable solution when something they paid for is missing. read more

I visited Rise Up on Memorial Day Weekend, so they were absolutely packed and had a line out the door. I waited ~45 min from getting on line to getting my food and drink. Things I liked: - their ample selection of breakfast burritos and ready-to-eat food like protein bars and pastries. I got their vegan breakfast burrito (the Happy Cow) which was basically a tofu scramble in a burrito. It was good and satiating! - my cappuccino with oat milk was good. I don't know why they offer three different sizes for cappuccinos though. Areas for improvement: - I really felt bad for their staff because of how crazy it was. They had enough people working (although another person on the register would be nice) but having paper tickets is a little archaic and slow. - They heavily promote mobile ordering, but as other reviewers have noted, mobile orders are in a totally different queue. I would've placed my order online but the wait time was two or three hours! They don't let you set a pickup time, so it seemed wildly unpredictable. - why is the menu SO long? The smoothie was ready (for who knows how long... and what if I waited until 10?!) and the burrito ready at 9:30. tldr: If you at all value your time and/or decent food, do not go here. I don't like writing reviews, but this place is absolute trash and people need to be aware of what they are getting into here. I made the mistake of coming here twice. Lost 3 hours of my life waiting for the most mediocre food and incorrect coffee orders. Day 1: we wait in line for about an hour just to get coffee (we thought the line was moving and it stopped then felt like we already committed too much time to just leave). We ordered 2 nitro cold brews with sweat cream foam... 20 min later when we get our order, it's just cold Brew coffee on ice (not even nitro cold Brew). Day 2: We try to plan ahead and put a breakfast and coffee order in early to pick up for to go... Big mistake. After ordering I see on the order tracker that the order is estimated to be ready for pickup in 2 hours!!! Are you kidding me?! So, I call and ask if that was a mistake and the girl on the phone says "no it should only take 45 min" ("only" lmao). Guess what actually happened? It took LONGER than 2 hours. Then the breakfast burritos we got were bland and small. Coffee was also equivalent to McDonald's ice coffee. Never again will I make the mistake of walking into this establishment. read more
