As soon as we walked through the door at Raise Up Coffee, I was immediately excited to see how busy and popular the place was the parking lot was packed, and we were lucky enough to find the last available spot! I asked one of the workers for their recommendation on the best latte, and it did not disappoint. We also ordered the avocado toast, and the portion was massive and absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing! On top of the great food and drinks, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and enjoyable. Beautiful space, there's plenty of seating! Indoor and outdoor seating is provided. Drink menu has a lot to offer. I got a matcha latte and wasn't asked what kind of milk which I thought was odd. They ran out of cold brew as well and the iced americano was mid. When we walked in, there was an off putting smell, not sure if was due to the bathrooms being right there, nonetheless it was off putting. This is when I say to myself to believe in Yelp reviews, instead of nice looking Instagram posts... With all the recent reviews being negative about the interactions they had with the staffs, and although the business have responded to most of them, seems like nothing has really changed. Action speaks louder than words, and I didn't see any improvements during my visit. We went to Rise Up Coffee because of said nice looking Instagram posts, and wanted to try their coffee offerings that sounded great. Upon entering, the staff at the register was immediately off-putting... no emotions, no welcoming, just cold interaction. I asked about one of their seasonal drinks, and he just responded short and curt, without even looking up at me. The whole ordering process was the same, didn't feel that our business was appreciated in any way. The staffs were more interested in having a loud interaction and funny conversation with each other than paying attention to customers. I also witnessed one of the older female customer trying to say to them "good coffee" as she was leaving, and they didn't bother to look at her nor acknowledge her nice, positive comment. The coffee took a while to be made, even though it was not busy at all there. The seasonal drink I ordered was a bit too sweet, didn't taste any special than any flavored coffee you get from anywhere else. Definitely NOT a coffee shop I want to go back to, NOT the kind of business I want to support. There are other spots where you can get a nice cup of coffee, where you also feel welcomed and your business appreciated. The design of the coffee cups were interesting though. Clearly a super popular spot, but the coffee lives up to the hype. As we drove into Rehoboth Beach this coffee shop's distinct black and white exterior really called to my coffee-lover self, and I instantly made sure to flag it as one of the spots I would want to grab coffee during our stay. We made it there on our second day and it's clear that this seems to be a favorite to both locals and visitors. Upon arriving, it was pretty difficult to find parking as all of the spots were taken, so we quickly located a spot on the residential street nearby. Walking in, the line was almost to the front door, but I didn't mind as it gave me plenty of time to peruse the menu for coffee and breakfast options. I loved seeing the coffee beans available for purchase as well as some of their merchandise on my way to the counter, in addition to admiring the hand-painted murals and so many cool seating options. The tables have really beautiful woodworking, many of which have raw edges which add a lot of personality. Order up! I opted for an iced latte with an extra shot of espresso (because I definitely needed an energy boost that day) and coconut flavoring, frozen matcha, the breakfast sandwich, and a glazed doughnut. I was really intrigued by the coffee smoothie which was featured and highlighted in multiple spaces. The term "smoothie" threw me off but I discovered from a fellow patron that it's simply a frozen blended coffee and they order it all the time. Loved checking out the outdoor seating options as well as the bar that shares the same local, Mary and Margs (SUCH a great name). Since we came in later in the morning/early afternoon, there were already quite a few people flocking to the barstools, ordering espresso martinis, which looked divine. I have to say that my coffee was delightful, you can tell that the beans were freshly ground and the extra shot of espresso really did the trick for me. The frozen matcha was delicious, 10/10, no notes! Would definitely get that again and would try the coffee smoothie next time. I ate my entire breakfast sandwich because I was starving but was expecting a lot more. The homemade biscuit is what intrigued me the most but I think I've been spoiled with some really amazing housemaid biscuit sandwiches back home so this one really fell short for me; it was kind of hard, a little burnt. All in all, this is a really cute, trendy spot, which seems to attract people of all ages with a very robust menu from morning to evening. I stopped in this Saturday morning for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich and was very disappointed. The place is relaxed, coastal, and casual. The line wasn't out the door, but it was busy. I ordered a chai latte and the Rise Up breakfast burrito. My burrito came out in about 10 minutes, but my chai latte took 30 minutes. I understand it's peak season at a beach resort and staffing can be a challenge, but if an establishment cannot provide reasonable timing for orders, they should limit the number of customers they take at once. They continued accepting orders despite clearly being unable to keep up. The gentleman behind me waited 25 minutes with his wife and three children before leaving after paying because he said the wait was "insane," and I agree. For $17.25 for a coffee and a breakfast burrito, the experience was not worth it. Highly recommend avoiding this location during the season. Very disappointed. They can do better. read more

I visited Rise Up on Memorial Day Weekend, so they were absolutely packed and had a line out the door. I waited ~45 min from getting on line to getting my food and drink. Things I liked: - their ample selection of breakfast burritos and ready-to-eat food like protein bars and pastries. I got their vegan breakfast burrito (the Happy Cow) which was basically a tofu scramble in a burrito. It was good and satiating! - my cappuccino with oat milk was good. I don't know why they offer three different sizes for cappuccinos though. Areas for improvement: - I really felt bad for their staff because of how crazy it was. They had enough people working (although another person on the register would be nice) but having paper tickets is a little archaic and slow. - They heavily promote mobile ordering, but as other reviewers have noted, mobile orders are in a totally different queue. I would've placed my order online but the wait time was two or three hours! They don't let you set a pickup time, so it seemed wildly unpredictable. - why is the menu SO long? You don't need to make everyone happy! It's a cute spot and, were it not so packed, I would've spent time there. There's plenty of seating for larger groups. read more

Got coffee, Americano and a double shot of espresso over ice (to add a protein shake to). Also got the Local burrito and the Local bowl. Lots of options for wraps or bowls. Avocado toast and açaí bowls. They also have bakery selections (not made in house but still good). There's an indoor and outdoor seating area. Not tons of parking. Typical coffee shop vibe. Ordered two burritos, the "Local" and the "Rise Up." The Rise Up came without potatoes, even though potatoes are supposed to be included in the burrito. I went back and asked an employee if they could remake it with the potatoes since they were missing, but I was told they were "out of potatoes." What makes no sense is that the other burrito I ordered actually did come with the potatoes. If they were actually out, I should have been told when I placed my order that the burrito would be missing an ingredient I was paying for. Instead, I received the burrito without the potatoes and was never told. I was then told that they couldn't give me a refund and that there was nothing they could do. So in the end I paid for a burrito that was not made as advertised, wasn't offered a replacement nor refunded. Honestly I left with a really frustrating experience, and it completely ruined my taste. I understand that restaurants can run out of ingredients, but if this is the case then customers should be informed beforehand and given a reasonable solution when something they paid for is missing. read more

For a place this well known, with so many people working behind the counter, I was very surprised by the awful service. I ordered a drink and food and the time between each order was 30 minutes. When I asked about the eta of the food, I was brushed off with a "We'll call you when its ready". When I asked 15 minutes later, the server just lurked by the window of the kitchen and would not look me in the eyes to tell me what happened. Not sure what they can do about their popularity, but having good, efficient employees would go a long way.
