Overall, this is a decent place to eat. The best thing (as the menu implies) is the bacon. We had a group of 4 and we went for breakfast. The service was very attentive. We started with a coffee, Irish coffee, and mimosas. The coffee was not good on its own, and the Irish coffee did not taste any different. The mimosas were decent. The first thing I want to say is the food is so incredibly complex for what one may assume is standard!!! I met three of my great friends here, and it seemed fitting being called "Four Friends". It is not conveniently located for any of us in Central Park, but it is centrally located for all of us. *TIP* They don't take reservations which after dining that was very understandable because they stay consistently busy. I was there on a Friday before the holiday, I don't imagine what the weekend look like. They also only seat full parties, which I fully understand for a table of six when only two people have arrived but not for a party of four when three are there. As I said, it is quite a busy cafe style restaurant but was not overly loud and quite enjoyable! We all started off with specialty cocktails, one of my friends had unicorn blood, which is purple Prosecco with edible glitter (I was the late one so too far gone to snap a picture). But here's the best part, in my opinion, the food is off the chart. I ordered the sausage and grits, which comes with the cheese and Serano, peppers and gravy and an egg. The flavors combined were incredible!! Everyone at the table was silenced during meal time which is always a good sign of how delicious the food is. The only minor snafu we had besides me being late, was that a server spilled Prosecco in my brand, new handbag, and on my shoes. Rather than just apologizing, she was aggressive with me about it only being a little and I didn't actually say anything to her so if they could work on the attitude of that one server, it is a 10/10!! Not the best.... Everyone told me I had to try this fun brunch spot! I was really excited to go here. We got a table and placed our orders. I ordered the brisket melt... When the food was brought out I was given a sandwich with bacon and what looked to be fired tomatoes and lettuce on it. I said to the waiter, "was there suppose to be brisket on this?" He looked to me confused and said, "did you want me to bring you some on the side?" I said, "Oh no thank you. What is this?" He said, "It's a BLT" with a rude look on his face. My sister then said, "She got the brisket melt...." He stared at us for a second and then realized I did order the brisket melt and said, "You did order the brisket melt.... ummmm let me get that switched out for you..... oh never mind. You can keep that and I'll get that brisket melt out asap." It then took a few minutes but the correct sandwich arrived. Because they were trying to get the sandwich out fast, the cheese didn't have time to properly melt so that was a little disappointing. I bet if it was cooked properly that brisket melt would have been great! Over all the experience was ok. I might order the food to go next time. read more

I was excited to try Four Friends with four friends, but was ultimately not impressed. I was tempted to try the chicken & waffles as well as beignets, but wound up getting The Kitchen Sink to sample a bit more. The good: the "BBQ" potatoes which had a nice crisp shell and soft within, the sausage patties had a ton of flavor and not too greasy The bad: the pancake tasted ok but it was cold and not nearly warm enough to melt the butter, the scrambled eggs were like a brick (I asked for a touch of cheese and basically got a $1 block of cheese with a touch of overcooked egg) The service was a bit spotty, they seemed understaffed. We were quickly greeted but it took a while to flag down the server to order, get coffee/water refilled, get condiments, get the check, etc. Our server was super cool though. Decent amount of street parking on a Sunday morning. We were able to get on the waitlist ahead of time so wait wasn't bad. A bit noisy inside but overall positive atmosphere and decor. Prices were actually quite reasonable. Willing to give another shot down the road but now I know what to avoid. read more

I'm glad we found this brunch spot on our drive! And that we made a reservation - the wait was around 15 minutes long, even on a Thursday. I took that as a good sign in addition to the great reviews. My group of 5 was seated immediately and our server was efficient. We ordered some non-alcoholic beverages, appetizers to share (fried green tomatoes and beignets, both delicious - the latter especially so), and entrees. I was impressed with the separate plant-based menu! I ordered the mushroom-sweet potato hash and eggs, which were good and I liked the sauce (the cornbread was delicious!). My boyfriend ordered the smoked brisket hash and eggs, which he enjoyed but the brisket was dry. And last but not least, it was a bustling restaurant but I didn't feel that it would be hard to settle in for a longer meal! read more

We happen to find ourselves in the Cherry Creek area for a doctors appointment this morning and after receiving some good news... we decided to celebrate with a little breakfast. Since we've both been on a "clean eating" kinda diet lately we wanted something that was friendly towards that but also went our very high "tasty" and creativity standards. We found Four Friends! In brief - the food was phenomenal! My gorgeous dining partner had a Cajun/creole omelette that featured gigantic shrimp and andouille sausage and I had a traditional kitchen sink breakfast with toast, sage sausage and two eggs over medium. I've been coming to Four Friends Kitchen for many years. The quality of food is very consistent, and their menu has many delicious things to choose from. I love such a modern twist on the Southern kitchen. They do get super busy on the weekend but you can join a waitlist online. If you can't find street parking up front, there is a huge parking lot behind the building. Huevos Rancheros and Crab cake green tomato Benedict are my favorite dishes on the menu. This is my new go-to brunch restaurant in the Central Park area. Amazing staff, full bar. First time I tried to go to this restaurant there was a 90 minute wait. I had no time for that, but it smelled amazing and after reading the reviews I was obsessed. Returned another day, and . I had the blue crab Benedict with fried green tomatoes, and shared an order of beignets with my boyfriend and they were ridiculous. I will get them every time!! When brother and his family were in town, we had breakfast here. I had enjoyed my Benedict so much I ordered it again. On the 3rd visit, tried the Shrimp and Grits!! I have not had grits more than 5 times in my life, and have not been a fan so far. Now I understand it's all about the preparation. This is not Cracker Barrel grits; these are four cheese grits served with sauteed gulf shrimp, chargrilled succotash, baby spinach and spicy tomato shrimp broth. Four Friends Kitchen is one of my favorite brunch spots in the area. The food and drinks are amazing. Just a heads up, you need to get in early or put your name in early if you want to eat here. I know the restaurant can't control the wait, which is why I didn't give it 4 stars. Just be prepared for a wait. I will say it's definitely worth it. One of my favorite things to order here is the Smokey Mountain BLT. The bacon and the fried green tomatoes are an amazing combo, and it's rounded out by the smoked cheddar pimento *chef's kiss*. It's a toss up between the potatoes and grits, so just go ahead and order both (even if it means you're going to be filled to the brim). I can't even put into words how good both are, and can't choose between the two. I always have to order a Bloody Mary with my meal because it's the perfect amount of spice and the mix is pure perfection. I like to finish my meal with a canned cold brew, and I put whatever I can't drink into a to go cup. I honestly need to branch out on my food and drink choices a little more at Four Friends Kitchen, but it's hard to mess with with perfection. read more

I had an early morning flight in from Chicago on a Monday morning so rather than go straight home, I stopped at Four Friends Kitchen for breakfast. It's been a long time since I've been here. I was surprised that I didn't write a review from my previous visits so here I am now! I love where this establishment is located. It's in Northeast Denver, not too far west of Stanley Marketplace. The neighborhood is decent as well. Inside they have a nice bar area to sit and eat at. There are plenty of tables to sit at in the main dining room. They were busy when I dined here but it wasn't that noisy. I started with some hot coffee and cream. Coffee is good here. Also, I ate at the bar area. The bartender who took my order was friendly and didn't have an attitude. I ordered the Smoked Brisket Hash & Eggs. You can order your eggs any way you like. I chose my default, over medium. It comes with cornbread as well. Rather than go with cornbread I opted for a Buttermilk Pancake. Meal was fantastic! Surprise, surprise.... I've never had a mediocre or bad meal here. I love how their pancakes are moist and not dried out. It's just unfortunate I live so far away from here now. If you're in North Denver, this would be a great place to check out. As the subtitle for this restaurant indicates, an American Eatery with Southern Charm, it's so true to it's name! My kind of place! I'm going out of town on Thanksgiving weekend and may return here after my early morning return flight on Monday morning. May need to do a little deja vu.... Check out Four Friends Kitchen if you live in the area or visiting town. Great food and good location. I believe there are some shops nearby to browse or a nice area to walk around after your meal. We have heard rave after rave after rave about this place.... and everytime we drive by, there seems to be a wait..... so what better to do when you awaken at 7am on a saturday? go to breakfast!!! we live literally 5 minutes from here and it was already pretty busy (they open at 6:30am). we were seated right away. it was super clean and bright, which i like in a breakfast place! i'd heard so much about the grits, that i had to give those a try (kickin' sausage grits) and hubs wanted the french toast. both were delicious, but i got tell ya' the REAL STAR of the show was the order of beignets!!! like i could just go back to eat those!! i gave it four stars (one for each friend haha) because truth be told, while i do like that everything is fresh and organic, there just wasn't a ton on the menu that couldn't be found elsewhere. Went there this morning for breakfast on our way out of town. This makes the 3rd time I've been there. Always delicious....a bit of a wait depending on what time of the morning you go. Thankfully here on Yelp, they have a chart that shows you the wait time at any given time of the morning, so that's a big help. I think I've done a review before, but the beignets are delicious. I always get the kitchen sink breakfast. Everything on the plate is good. This morning I got the potato bread toast....I would have liked it a little more toasted, but it still tasted delicious with the strawberry preserves. This place was soooooooo amazing! I wish there was one closer to my neighborhood. The service was customer focused, intentional with friendliness. Four Friends Kitchen is a gem just off of Founders Green on the boarder of the Central Park and North Park Hill neighborhoods. Was surprised that it wasn't packed at 8am on a beautiful, cool, Saturday morning and we were seated right away. It's a small space with 16 tables and 8 bar seats. There is also rooftop seating! The menu is Southern comfort food (breakfast/brunch/lunch). We started with the Bacon Grits Bites (5 bites) and Beignets (5). The Bacon Grits Bites are fried balls of cheesy grits, peppers, and bacon and have a bit of spice to them as they are also served over a Serrano aioli. The Beignets were excellent. My son raved about the hot chocolate. The coffee was good, not great, to my taste. Didn't stop me from having multiple cups to fuel my morning. My son went with The Kitchen Sink. It's the standard choose-your-own-adventure breakfast. He went with eggs, ham, potatoes, and a pancake. Other options included maple bacon, homemade sausage, grits and toast. I went with the Banana Split Parfait. Greek yogurt, bananas, berries, granola, and honey. I was surprised by the presentation, was expecting it to be smaller. It was shockingly good.
