Nice ambiance but service was just okay for a Saturday night. While it was a hour and a half before closing we had somewhat slow service. The food is a bit overpriced for item like baked potato and a side of Brussels sprouts, however the food was tasty. I had the Caesar with fried chicken. Others had shrimp and grits and salmon. The drinks were good as well. Great for a date night.
I came to Yardbird for a friend's birthday. Every year, my best friend does a themed party, and this year we went to Yardbird to celebrate the death of her twenties. Her mother and she are always looking for some gluten-free options (we attended POST last year), and Yardbird had just that available. For such a large party (16 or 18 of us, I cannot quite recall), our server was flawless. She was attentive, made sure each of us had what we needed, and was very knowledgeable about the menu. The overall ambiance presented a warm almost modern southern style structure with exposed brick that created a very intimate, yet community vibe. I ordered the Classic Buttermilk Biscuits and Lewellyn's Fine Fried Chicken. Buttermilk Biscuits (10/10)- I think what will let you know just how truly delicious these biscuits were is that I ordered more to take home with me so that my wife and daughter could have them for breakfast with me the next day. They were fluffy, delicious, and buttery, They came served very warm, which created the perfect balance for the house made jam, and I honestly could have eaten 6 right there at the table. It's also worth mentioning that they do reheat well the next day - do with that what you will! Lewellyn's Fine Fried Chicken - (6/10) - I wanted a lot more from this chicken. While it was juicy and overall beautiful in presentation, it lacked the flavor I was looking for when I think of Fried Chicken, even in the skin. I think in comparison to places like Post, where you do get a flavorful bite in their chicken, I expected more from one of the things that they were known for. I did try to pair it with a hot honey sauce, but it then leaned more sweet, which I do not enjoy when I want things to be savory. I do think I would have enjoyed the short rib more and will be back to try it.
Yardbird was a great spot to come for an early meal. We took the kids and they were very welcoming, and the Happy Hour menu here was awesome. - The Burger and Brew combo was Awesome - The Twice-Fried Wings were Great - The Chef's Tasting Plate was Okay Overall, I'd come back again there were a lot of southern style options and I bet the fried chicken here is to die for. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive, and overall a good option for food and drinks.
A really beautiful restaurant with very friendly staff and a nice chill vibe. We sat on the patio and really enjoyed ourselves with the server who left us to really chill at our table and take our time in the beautiful Denver dusk. The food was great, the flavors were excellent and the dishes were well executed. My only gripe is that the prices are exorbitant. Unfortunately this is a special occasion only.
Surprised with brunch at YardBird for Fathers Day! Unique Fathers Day menu on top of their large normal brunch menu. Chicken and waffles was excellent with moist chicken and a great crust! Hot honey and bourbon syrup were a great addition. Appetizers were good. Deviled eggs were just ok but the BLT minis were 5/5, I could have killed a dozen. Lots of people on a Sunday morning but plenty of room and seating in the restaurant. Service was slow at first to get drinks and food ordered but food came very quickly once ordered. Overall, a great date spot and clearly a favorite among people in Denver.
All the food was good. We got gluten free chicken and waffles, the Elvis Pancakes, grits and brussel sprouts. The kids were happy. The Elvis Pancakes were underwhelming. They're also crunchy. They have peanuts in the batter. Service was extremely slow even though the restaurant was pretty empty.
Service was great. Both bartenders were friendly & welcoming. I enjoyed the draft & cocktail. I wasn't a fan of the skewers. The mushrooms were good, nice seasoning. The shrimp was overcooked. Charred too much & the sauce was not good. The bar area was spacious & clean. I'd visit again for a cocktail. Not sure I would try anything other than the cornbread.
This is going to be Greattttt! My 1st time coming to downtown Denver for Sunday brunch in 2 years and already loving this place using the Open Table app feature for a reservation. The parking is definitely a little bit crowded, but I found a parallel spot about 2 blocks away, So I allowed 5 minutes of walk time. When I arrived I was excited to see the contemporary barn style structure with fancy lighting and decorative wall hangings. So bougie barn-ish is the best way to describe it with even comfy, chill pillows in our booth. Very fancy pre-settings were already set properly on our table at sitting. The host was so friendly and letting us pick a table that we wanted which was the bigger fancier booth. Bryan L. Is the best waiter I have ever had in Denver! He went above and beyond to make this brunch Super, Duper amazing! There is a Bottom less Mimosa menu available and we picked the pineapple juice Mimosas for $25 each person. Come to say they were marvelous and so refreshing. He picked the Elvis Special which was the pancakes with bananas, peanuts, peanut butter drizzle. I picked Shrimp with grits. The food presentation was everything here to me and I was absolutely WOWED and impressed with the delicious food decisions. I noticed the restrooms were very clean, and sanitized. There is a back yard seating structure also available for when it's warmer. I can't wait to come back next time to enjoy the Colorado sunshine. THANK YOU YARDBIRD FOR THE WONDERFUL DAY!! Run across this place after going to the rivian dealership. Have a great happy hour from 4:00 to 6:00 the staff was nice great feel to the place and they seated us rather quickly. Wings 4/5 Deviled eggs 5/5 Okra 3/5 BBL 4/5 Oreo 3/5 The wings were full of flavor, nice and crisp, especially with the dipping sauce. The deviled eggs were amazing, some of the best I've ever had. The okra was nice and crisp but a little too much salt for my liking. The adult beverage was full of flavor with nice & heavy pour. The Oreo dessert was smooth on the inside. Nice crunch on the outside would have liked more flavor to the breading, but the ice cream was really good. I would definitely come back. I'd like to try the burger and get more deviled eggs, the cornbread that the people at the table across from us looked and smelled amazing.
Yardbird offers a great happy hour menu! I was a bit skeptical knowing their regular menu is a bit pricey but loved my experience and found it to be of generally fair value! Overall, fine service- generally friendly, attentive, and timely. For happy hour cocktails, I recommend the Southern Peach ($9 during HH)- delicious, semi sweet, and refreshing! For happy hour food, the wings are a can't miss- so meaty, perfectly crispy exterior, and great flavor hot sauce! HH order ($12) is 6 large pieces. Definitely worth it; sauce isn't spicy but so good; comes with homemade ranch. I also tried the Texas Twinkies, chicken biscuit sliders, and oak fried meat skewers on the happy hour menu. Texas Twinkies ($7 during HH) was good and true to its name in size- pepper was spicy, but great flavor combination and perfectly cooked! Recommend changing the name to singular one the menu as it is only one "twinkie." Similarly the chicken biscuit sliders ($10 on HH) say two are served on the menu- but it is only one. Of the HH food items, the chicken biscuit slider was most disappointing- tiny biscuit that didn't cover meat and fell apart; no complaints on chicken except small portion size/not two of them. The skewers trio- beef, chicken, and shrimp- ($11 during HH) were delivered to the table over hot smoking wood coals. Pretty cool! The meat was good but largely unremarkable for flavor. Tender steak, but pretty small portions. Best tasting was the chicken. Full disclosure, I experienced the full YB dining experience during restaurant week a few months ago. Tried a variety of their culinary offerings including the fried chicken! If you ever wondered what restaurants may have perfected fried chicken, Yardbird is likely on that list! Yardbird's location in Denver is on Blake St in RiNo. Parking can be limited in this area. YB offers a large space- with the option to stay in the bar room/lounge area (beautiful and huge bar) on the south side of the restaurant or dine in the separate dining hall for more traditional dining experience.
Heard good things about Yardbird and we decided to check it out! They definitely wowed us with the Fried Green tomatoes BLT stack - the pork belly was fire! I love a good deviled egg but this one was just okay, it lacked any flavor. I also saw people rave about the cinnamon roll but it was just okay and dry. Steak and eggs were simple and classic but not warrant the price point. A lot of the items on the menu were a bit pricey for size/taste/quality but for a special occasion or date night could be worth it. Located off Blake St so parking is on the street, or garage if you prefer. There are some pull off areas where we saw many people being dropped off first. Stairs & ramp which make wheelchair/stroller accessible. Walk-ins are acceptable or you can make a reservation online! Menu includes GF options. Cool outdoor area for seating & games. Brought the wife and other kid after raving about Yardbird to them, and it was so disappointing the second time around. First, wife is a vegetarian and they had no mains other than Mac and cheese for her. She ordered the salad without chicken which was $25. They knocked it down to $22 after I asked why it was the same price without meat, which still seemed like a lot for a salad with no protein. Kids' Mac and cheese was not the same receipe as last time; it was a different noodle and seemed to be needing some salt as it was pretty bland. Unlike our last visit they did not include an ice cream for dessert. My fried chicken and waffles was ok--the breading was a bit soggy though and I much preferred the Nashville hot chicken from my last visit. If I'm being honest this was closer to a 2 star experience, but with how good the last visit was, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt they maybe tonight they were just off. That said--need one vegetarian entree for the menu. read more

I had brunch here with a large group and enjoyed everything we ate! The standouts were the fried chicken, which you can add as a side to any entree, and the dip sandwich. Right in the heart of RiNo, there are plenty of nearby spots to explore after your meal as well. Service was also great, they were very attentive to our table and made sure we always had everything we need. If you want a tasty brunch in the trendy neighborhood of RiNo this is the spot for you! read more

Yardbird has such a good vibe! I love the outdoor seating and the fun "backyard" hangout area! Came for happy hour and the offerings are good and for great prices. Both the drinks and the food are a hit. The menu is fun and the space is awesome! read more

I love going here for Brunch with my girls! The bottomless mimosas are amazing. The staff has always been super nice and personable making our experience GREAT. Definitely a more classy spot but the prices are pretty decent! read more

Ate here to celebrate a birthday & we overall had a great time. The booth dragging was bit troublesome. As I'm short so it was hard to sit up in the both area. The burger was pretty standard but the appetizers are where it shined at. We also had the biscuits too and it was TOO good! Service was pretty standard & there were no complaints. This place is so amazing especially Mo ! The best service ! Amazing mimosas and excellent food .... Yardbird hash browns biscuit donut bites crispy chicken biscuits and crab cake Benedict! The best textures and flavors and again the service was phenomenal! Mo had our drinks constantly filled the entire visit and the plates kept coming hot and fresh and delicious. I love the music here and the ambiance and of course the decorations for the holidays! This was the perfect spot for brunch before heading over to Puttshack the perfect date daytime combo! Ryan and I had an amazing time and will be coming back again very soon! read more
The ambience is great. The food eh to over priced. The lobster Mac and cheese was super dry and $79 dollars, it should be cheesy and creamy ... the lobster was super fishy and dry as well. The Nashville hot chicken was ok but mainly just spicy and no other flavor. The Texas Twinkie was the best part. The service was great. read more

Went to this location while I was in town for a convention. I will say the ambiance and the size is bigger than some that I've been to. If you do not eat pork then please be cognizant that some things are fried in pig lard (some things can be done without but may take a lot longer) The chicken biscuits are usually the go to for me extra honey hot sauce, but I feel like they keep getting smaller with each year that I come. 7-10 This location had fried okra, and it was perfectly seasoned and fried 10/10 French fries were also perfectly seasoned and fried although they forgot we ordered them and they were brought out after our dessert 10/10 Passion fruit breeze was good and refreshing 8/10 Key lime pie was aesthetically please but not worth the $18 on the menu, especially when it's cheaper on their online menu. 6/10 Service was very slow this day and we had to keep reminding him of the very few things we did order. read more
Everything here was soooo good, including the service and drinks! The ambiance was very classy and comfortable. Perfect for a birthday dinner, I love how they gave a fried Oreo dessert to our birthday boy and held our cake for us. My favorite thing was the Texas Twinkie and my eggnog martini. Honorable mention to the blackberry bourbon lemonade!! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because some of our chicken wings weren't fully cooked. read more
First time here at the Denver location. I like the ambiance because you can come for a family meal or an intimate date. They have a wide selection of alcohol. The food I would say is fine dining comfort. It hits the spot without breaking the bank. Service was good. Rotisserie chicken was a little bit oily, but still tasty and flavorful. Broccolini was on point, cant messed up grilled veggies. A little disappointing about the fried Oreo. It was alot more fried dough than Oreo ratio, so you get sick of if quite quickly read more

Great food, best brunch vibes, yummy drinks, friendly staff. Came here at 9:30 on a Saturday (right when they open) and it was empty. The service was wonderful and our waiter Kyle was super kind. He was educated in the menu and had great recommendations. They make gluten free options as well which were perfect for sharing with a celiac. The crème brûlée waffles were so yummy and the fried chicken was so crispy. Highly recommend both dishes. The omelette and hash browns could have been a skip for me. Drinks were fun as well. Great brunch options. It was a little pricey in my opinion. It came out to over $40 for fried chicken and waffles (since we ordered them crème brûlée). It was definitely enough food to share but you're paying for the vibes more than the actual food itself. I would return, but not a regular place for me. read more
Food: (1) Cinnamon Roll: giant, cream cheese frosting, soft and moist, beautiful giant pecans on top. Decadent. 4 people attempted to share it and we had most of it leftover. Beware. It's huge. (2) Skillet Cornbread: Too die for. The fresh chive butter on top was incredible. This was a must and we almost decided against it. It was soooo flavorful. (3) Biscuits and Gravy: This is one of my go-tos and while there was a lot of great things going for this dish, it wasn't my favorite one I've had. I would have preferred a lot more spices in the gravy. Maybe some cayenne for some heat and more rosemary, etc. The biscuit was tasty tho, not overcooked. Good chunks of sausage too. It comes with fried chicken, but I personally thought that was overkill so just asked for an extra egg instead. It comes with just one biscuit, but it was enough. (4) Chicken and waffles: My partner got this dish and said it was phenomenal. I believe they are known for this dish. They give you SO MUCH CHICKEN. One breast, one drumstick, one wing, AND one thigh - all bone in. Which does take some work, but he said it was soo juicy. Not overly breaded. Great seasoning. This dish is $40 but you truly get your moneys worth. The waffles had chives and cheddar in them too. Delicious! (5) Great American Burger: Friends got this and he probably said "omg" every 2 minutes about how good it was. It was insanely stacked with pieces of pork belly. The fries looked ordinary but they were beautifully seasoned as well and they make their ranch dressing in house. (6) Classic Yard Benedict: Friends got this and she said it was super delicious. The hash browns were beautiful too. They were these perfect little rectangles of fried hash brown love. Seasoned to perfection. She loved every bite. Their menu is insane, we will be back to try everything!! We got a ton of drinks between the 4 of us and we all felt they were a bit overpriced with lower alcohol content. Some better than others. I liked the desert rose the best but it was barely 1.5oz of "drink" once you took the ice cube out and I presume that wasn't all alcohol since it had other things mixed in it. Service: Overall we had great service. It was probably a good thing to not have entrees immediately after appetizers, but they tried to "course everything out" and we ended up being there for 2.5 hours. I thought they took way too long to put our entrees in. We weren't in a rush so it was fine but, we easily could have been done in 1.5 hours. It's very possibly they thought we were going to finish the appetizers and were waiting for us to -- but we had a different plan in mind (save room for entrees). Ambience: Freaking adorable. Enough said. Overall, highly highly recommend! You can tell they really care about their service and their food quality. Compliments to the chef. read more
I've only been to Yardbird once before in Los Angeles so when encountering this location during a recent Denver visit, we decided on dinner there. It did not disappoint!!! It was early evening so we had seating choices and chose a table near the bar. Dim lighting and modern rustic bar decor was relaxing. Portions are generous so we shared Lewellyn's Fine Fried Chicken, Southern Street Corn and skillet cornbread. The Classic Old Fashioned was perfect. Both food and service were amazing. read more

Stopping in for a late night dinner and loaded up heavily with comfort foods. Family style was more than enough for everyone to share and my favorite thing was ironically probably the salad. Cool atmosphere and would be an interesting place to stop for a pour sometime too. read more

Yardbird was EXACTLY what I was looking for while I was in Denver. A great, modern, esthetic with great prices. My girlfriend and I ended up doing the bottomless just because it made more sense for us than having multiple cocktails. I have to say that their cocktails looked amazing and if I was stopping for a few drinks I would head back. The food was also amazing quality. Absolutely love everything I had. If anyone is looking for a brunch spot in Denver, yardbird is a MUST. read more
I ate here for the first time last week and it was overall good. The place is quiet and has a nice ambience. Service is nice. I rated each item I ate with more detailed specifics below: Chicken (whole bird) 12/10 perfectly done, probably one of the best I've had ever Mac n cheese 6/10 (eh, it was decent and I probably could've gone without. If it was a larger portion and less exoskeleton, then maybe I'd endorse it. Deviled eggs-- to only get 2 deviled eggs (1 whole egg) for $10 is nuts to me. I'm sorry, but there's no practicality in that, especially when I can make 6x that amount for about the same price. I get it's unique, but not enough for me to endorse it. Well. Finally found my bougie brunch place. I gave a 4 stars because this place is good and I will be back but the food wasn't roll my eyes in the back of my head. I started with a coffee, glass of rosé and the bacon jalapeño deviled eggs. I will say the deviled eggs were bomb and the flavors meshed well together. I ended up getting the fried chicken and waffles. Being from the southeast and growing up on fried chicken I can admit I am more picky about them. The portion was a great size and the chicken was fried crispy. The waffles were nice and light but I personally like bold flavors so I felt the cheddar could have been more present and the fried chicken could have had a bit more salt. Otherwise it was good! I want to take advantage of the bottomless mimosas next time and I am interested in going back. I do recommend this spot and I can't wait to try more foods. read more
Yardbird is a beautiful spot in Denver with a lounge area and dining area and a what I'd describe as a luxury southern food theme. I had the St. Louis ribs which are presented by a server smoking under a glass and the pig and pineapple which is pork belly with bacon jam and pineapple. Both were pretty good. The drinks weren't very good to me, I had a southern peach, desert rose, and house crafted apple cider. The fried Oreo dessert was tasty. I wouldn't say you just HAVE to visit this place. What i would recommend it for is meeting up with some friends in the lounge (beautiful lounge) ordering a few items and spitting them tapas style. Get your drinks straight up (the bourbon selection is wide, but the mixed drinks aren't all that). read more

Came in for brunch before a flight back to San Diego. Hostess offered to take our luggage which was great. Got a seat quickly at bar. Service was on the slower end given it wasn't busy but we enjoyed ourselves. I opted for bottomless mimosas which were $25. Wasn't starving so got the fried chicken sliders but saw tons of food coming out that looked delicious. My friend got the burrito which he enjoyed. Would def go back if I'm in the area again ! read more

I had a pretty underwhelming experience here. Visually, the space is lovely. It's sprawling with a separate bar area, huge dining room and private event space. I worry that a space this large in Denver won't survive. The service was friendly and warm. The server was attentive and checked in on us a lot, almost too much, but I don't consider that necessarily a bad thing. I'd rather that, than an absent server. I ordered a bloody mary, which I asked to switch to vodka instead of bourbon (who makes a house bloody with bourbon?). The server didn't notify me it would be a $3 upcharge to have Tito's vodka in my bloody. A $19 bloody? What a joke. The drink was also drowning in cilantro, so buying beware if you don't love cilantro. For my meal, I ordered the eggs benedict with scrambles eggs. The meal was fine, very sauce foward. Presentation was lacking. For $28 throw some greenery on the plate -- perhaps some arugula or microgreens? The hashbrowns were overly greasy. The English muffin was soggy. All in all, TWO items set me back $61 with tip. I knew going in this place was pricy, but was it worth it.... I don't think I'll be back. read more

4 Stars because service was unfortunately slow even though there were only about 20 customers. Apparently they are closing down early for a private party so maybe staffing was lighter than usual? Anyway, the chicken was juicy and crispy. The watermelon was delicious and the waffle was light and fluffy. Yum read more
It's actually really hard for me to write this review because I truly was expecting to love this place. I thought about giving three stars but ultimately when doing a comparison of like restaurants at the high caliber that Yardbird categorizes itself with, two stars felt appropriate. I will say the aesthetics were immaculate! It was super posh, the signage was cute, and the decor was a vibe. They're also planning some cool things like a speakeasy that could be fun for the neighborhood. We sat in a booth which was cute but oddly low to the ground. The table was a normal height so eating was slightly awkward. And I was served fried chicken in a bowl/plate which really put my fork and knife skills to the test at that awkward angle. I ordered the Llewelyn fried chicken after hearing that the chicken and waffles was popular. My thought was for dinner, let's ditch the breakfast aspect but keep the chicken aspect. They have a variety on their menu but for a place called "Yardbird" I was expecting amazing chicken. I asked to swap mashed potatoes for Mac and cheese. Thank God I did because the Mac and cheese was actually really good. I was told there was an up charge to do this but was never informed of how much. I was surprised to pay $8 additional for what was a small portion of Mac and cheese. And this was just a swap to sides not an addition mind you. I'll cut to the chase. The chicken was dry and flavorless. They offered to remake it but remaking it was not going to change the flavor. I ate a few bites but couldn't really eat much else of the chicken. It was that disappointing. I was hoping they'd offer something else to swap but after I gave my feedback the waiter did nothing. What really made this more disappointing is that over the course of the night three more of their staff stopped by our table, heard feedback about the food, and did absolutely nothing. One even made jokes that supported that what I ordered was not that great. At some point we asked for some paprika to make the chicken do-able. I ended up pawning most of the chicken to my friends because I couldn't bear the taste and it was obviously the kitchen was not going to take the plate back. I paid 50+$ for a small Mac and cheese, a small side salad and what ended up being a little bit of chicken. At those prices, it doesn't make sense for me to try to give this place another try when they don't have great customer service. Also if the chicken is bad, I'm not really motivated to try much else. My friends had other dishes which they enjoyed but felt like the portions were small (salmon and short rib dishes). My friend that tried the branzino was was really impressed by it too. Please start with those if you do go here. One friend also ordered the cobbler (which you crack with a mallet). It was very sweet and ultimately too sweet for my liking. WOW! What an amazing spot! Came here for the first time and wanted to try a bit of everything and I was so impressed. Will definitely be back to try more' Started with a drink - Passionate about Tequila - it was amazing. We then ordered the Heirloom Tomato Salad, Pork Belly, Street Corn, and the oysters. I was beyond impressed with everything. The oysters were great so I'm so happy I found another spot in denver with oysters. The burrata in their tomato salad was delicious and the pork belly melted in your mouth. The street corn side was amazing. The service was phenomenal and the vibe insides is perfect. The inside is so cool, I love how they have a lounge as well as a Restaurant. Awesome spot, can't wait to go back! read more
