Came in specifically for the Philly cheesesteak and was not disappointed. Met Randall, letting him know why we stopped in; apparently, a regular named Greg told us about it. It sucks!!! I went to Randalls for the first time, and was very disappointed, I not return, ever. I give this restaurant a one star rating. It was horrid, the collard greens, were so hot you could not even get to the flavor of the greens. They went straight into the trash. No candied yams, no black eyed peas, the cat fish could have been better, but I will never return. So much for supporting black business. Get it together Randalls! read more

Once you walk in and seat yourself it definitely has that neighborhood feeling. Also quite loud with the music, the patrons and employees. Once the server sees you she's prompt to give you a menu. Ask you what you would like to drink. Once she brings your drink and takes your food order then she'll disappear until your food is ready. Once food delivered she'll disappear again. Not checking on you to see if you need anything else or if the food came out ok etc.... The food itself was tasty and cooked correctly. I had the pork chop sandwich and greens so no complaints there. I like to come here for my soul food fix that they don't have at my other soul food place. Two different menus from the restaurants. Food was delicious and service was friendly but slow. It's Black History Month so I paid this spot a visit while in Denver. Enjoyed myself. Drinks were ok, could be a bit stronger but the staff welcoming demeanor helped. I would definitely go again. The inside was typical soul food spot vibe, busy with music and a tv in the corner. Randall's has the best burgers and fries--ever! They would get 5 plus stars if they would just stop re-using oil that fish has been cooked in to cook chicken. Trust me, we can tell when you re-use fish grease to fry chicken. Not to mention it tastes horrible if you don't like fish! Went here on a Sunday morning early December with 3 friends. It was a little more casual than I was expecting and has very little parking (expect to park in the neighborhood it!) but the server was nice and personable. It took a second to be greeted when we entered and as we stood there looking around, we saw what looked like a buffet. When we were greeted, the server let us know we could sit anywhere and that the buffet breakfast was free with whatever we ordered. That was pretty cool. We were there later in the morning so things like bacon and fish were out but it still had sausage patties, grits, eggs, and hash browns. There's a bar with TVs, giving it a sports bar like vibes. I did expect more Cajun and southern fare than was offered in the menu, (it had a lot of burgers) but I got a side of the crawfish étouffée and it was phenomenal! So good, and hot! It was really small though with a lot of rice. I think it's worth checking out when you're looking to watch a game, just looking for a quick meal, meeting with friends, etc. read more

Wing Wednesday !!. We got winGs since it was on the menu. I got the breaded came with about 8 pieces there was flavor and cooked well no complaints my bf got the honey hot wings came with 1 sides which we got fries. Service was good. We got greeted as soon as we walked in. there was only 1 waitress and 1 bartender. Small little joint. Not a lot of seating and you can tell everyone in there were regulars there for drinks and it happens to be karaoke night. Definitely loud. It's one of the most premiere black establishments that existing to this day the food is comfort, and the vibes are unmatched for all ages randomly has really curated a Louisiana flair with a Denver ambience! Update to previous review. Still 1 stars. Food is mediocre at best, but they seem to be running a scam when it comes to your bill. I ordered a catfish sandwich ($10) and greens ($6) but when my bill came, it was for $20!! I'm not sure what tax is in Denver but I know it is not 25%. I asked for an itemized receipt, but the only item listed was "Custom Food Order" for $20 even. read more

Horrible portions. $33 for a (1) small catfish (frozen/ slimy) ,4 shrimp, a very small container of greens and a very small container of what was suppose to be red beans & rice but it was actually white rice with a "slather" of refried beans at the bottom. I live in the area and have been itching to try this local gem. I've driven by a few times and noticed on certain days there's a line out the door. I took a chance to see if Tuesdays weren't as busy and the bet paid off two fold. Firstly it wasn't busy during lunch and secondly the Tuesday special was smothered catfish. I got served a monster piece of fried catfish with a very flavorful etouffee and a crab leg on top . Admittedly, it was the first time I've ever tasted this dish so I have nothing to compare it to, but honestly that dish was absolutely mind blowing. I've never understood the term "comfort food" but I do now. Every bite feels like getting a hug. I am definitely going to try all their specials since they all sound good. So far though, the Tuesday special knocks it out the park!!! Last but not least, the service was friendly and seamless and the atmosphere was chill and laid back despite having a sport bar feel. Randall's is a pretty cool place. It's a large space that has an open air feel that includes both the restaurant and bar. Plenty of tables (high and low tops), as well as a bar top to sit/dine. They offer a variety of food options (ie, fried catfish, red beans and rice, etc) and have a full bar with standard drink options. The service was wonderful during my visit. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. The restaurant is also taking a lot of COVID precautions, including spacing out tables, requiring masks, and serving food in to-go containers. I felt very safe eating here. Most important to my visit... the wings! I have been looking for honey hot wings in Denver for a few months and this is the first place to have them. They were delicious. Well sauced and meaty wings for a good price. My night was made after this meal. I can not wait to return to enjoy more wings from Randall's. Thank you for a great meal!
