I've been meaning to try the breakfast sandwich at Foundry for quite a while now. All day breakfast sandwich seemed to be a popular choice so I gave it a try! It tasted good and was quite filling with the egg and provolone cheese! I got the avocado and skipped the bacon! I wish the sandwich had tomato to it too but nevertheless the sandwich was filling and I'm looking forward to try the other items on their menu. This is place is on 16th and Alabama and plenty free street parking is available so that's sorted for sure :) read more

I have been here a couple of times before to grab a coffee to-go, so I decided to pop in here before an exam last week for breakfast and some last minute studying. I got there pretty early (like 7am), so it was easy to find a street spot right next to Foundry, and there were only a few other customers besides me. Foundry's vibes are reminiscent of a diner but with a a little modern twist, making for a fun environment. The barista who took my order was super friendly and helpful. I got their cold brew with oat milk which is always so good. I love that they get their coffee from a local company. I also got their All Day Breakfast Sandwich. Let me tell ya - this sandwich was so good that I think it helped me ace my exam. It has egg, bacon, and provolone and is served on a brioche bun which is a fun switch from most breakfast sandwiches I've had. I will definitely be back for this. read more

First time here in a while. Love the vibe, friendly employees and the space. dog Friendly also. Drip coffee very good, and strong, as well as an excellent toasted Jalapeño Bagel with herb Cream Cheese. Took of one star because I wanted the breakfast sandwich but for that, drip coffee, tax and tip, I would have been near $20. Absorbent and not in line with others in Indy. Also, for a drip refill it is $1.75! It's sad that shops still use spiking costs (covid effect) as the issue. yet some charge less for drip coffee and give free refills...hmmm. Still a good experience. just have to choose wisely. read more

This deaf were very kind and helpful, and they answered all my questions about their options for drink and food, the inside was a bit on the blender side, but it was warm. The food was good. I especially like their ice chai tea lattes. read more

Update - I've been coming here for years - since around 2012. The quality is still the same as it was back then. I haven't had one of their "press" sandwiches in a while, but they look just as tasty as ever. Grab a "Yule Log" here. It's not on the menu but tastes like Christmas. Trust me. You should treat yourself! (Any barista who knows where the "list" of strange drinks is can find what goes into it. Ava made it up when she worked there). They used to carry those vegan brownies from Bloomington with the bunny on the front, too. They went well with anything coffee-related. read more

Good for coffee but I wasn't happy with the food. I got one of their seasonal coffees and it was good but my friend and I also ordered the bagel sandwich and neither of us cared for it. We thought it was really bland. I did appreciate we got parking right in front of the building and the service was quick. It was also a nice quiet place to sit and work if that's what you are looking for. read more

I was searching for a bagel on a Sunday morning and remembered that Foundry was right down the road. I used their website to order and was very content with the ease of it. I ordered the jalapeño cheese bagel with herbed cream cheese. It was soooo flavorful. I have never had cream cheese like this before, also the bagel was thinner than most and cooked to perfection. A lot of bagels are excessively bready but not this one. I didn't feel tired after eating it haha. It was a perfect meal if you are on the go and need something "lighter." read more

A solid spot for a delicious breakfast sandwich and chai latte. My friend and I ordered ahead online and took a nice stroll from her apartment to pick up our goods. We both had the lavender iced chai and it was a great pick-me-up. The lavender was not too overpowering. They have milk substitutions so I went with oat milk. The breakfast sandwich was the real star. Bacon, cheese and eggs serviced on an Amelia's bread brioche bun. The bread was pillowy perfection. The eggs had some herbs mixed in which made them super flavorful. The bacon added the perfect amount of salt. My friend went with the vegetarian option which subbed out the bacon with avocado. Their menu is expansive and they had some outdoor seating so I will definitely be back to try out some different menu options. Stop by if you're in the area! read more

This was my first time at Foundry Provisions after hearing good things from multiple people. I went in on Friday Sept 6, at 10:30am, ordered a macchiato, but accidentally said "iced carmel macchiato" out of familiarity. I was passively corrected that they serve it "the traditional way, so it will be hot" which was fine with me. I asked if we could add some sort of carmel whether it was sauce or syrup (as long i get a hint of some sort). I was lectured of the different types they had and asked me twice if what they had was good. Which I had already stated to them it didn't matter to me. After i payed they asked if whole milk was ok with me and i said yes. After my order was called i picked it up to my surprise was a very light drink and even had my friend pick it up. I opened it; it was just a shot of espresso with foam, with carmel syrup/sauce, in a small cup. I didn't want to ask or bring this to their attention, because i felt like an annoyance/inconvenience already. So i just took what i had, paid $5.19 for small espresso shot with foam and carmel flavoring and went on my day. Other than that the vibe was cute on the inside. read more

We visited Foundry to grab a cup of coffee and a baked good. They happen to have half-off baked goods available in a case by the register, or full price ones that are a little fresher in the back. So, if you're ever in the mood for a pastry or baked sweet and you're also in the mood to save money, remember this! I opted for a half-off muffin because it was for my kids. Not only would they not distinguish the subtleties of a day-old muffin versus a fresh muffin, they probably wouldn't eat more than a bite before declaring that they don't like blueberries/chocolate chips/whatever is in the muffin, even though they liked it yesterday. So, day-old muffin it is, kids! I also got a half-off ham and cheese danish for myself, which was pretty good. They have lots of patio seating, which is where we chose to sit down. They also have a huge chalkboard wall and lots of different colored chalk, which occupied my kids while I ate my danish and their discarded muffin. read more

Our favorite local coffee shop! We love the food, too. The grilled cheese and tomato soup is amazing. Donuts on Sunday:)

This coffee shop will forever have a place in my heart. The food is great and always has been (highly recommended getting the almond croissant if you can get one before they run out). In high school, it was the hangout spot before and after school. Everyone hung out there, it was very open, relaxed, and fun. While it still has this vibe, it feels a little more pretentious now, with higher prices and "nicer"booths and art. Still a great place, just not as chill and fun as it used to be. read more

Foundry Provisions sounds similar to Provider, another nearby coffee shop, but don't get confused! (This is why I just call it Foundry). It's such a nice place, with inside seating (booths and tables) and outside seating. They serve Tinker coffee, which is delicious! They have some food and baked goods. I love that they do 1/2 off their day old pastries - today I got a delicious day old giant almond croissant for about $2.50. I used to come here more often, about 2 years ago. It's funny to be here around 3pm, because tons of Herron HS students flock to this coffee shop. I remember being amused listening to their convos and remembering my own HS experiences. But if you don't like HS crowds, just a head's up for folks that you may want to avoid the after school time period. read more

Absolutely love this shop! I've been here several times and always enjoy their coffee and tea. The booth seating is my favorite. There are also table and bar seats. They have dog treats and printing inside and also sell paintings by local artists, tinker coffee, and packaged foods from local businesses! Sometimes they even sell flowers too. My parents love to get their food. Always a go-to spot, just gets a little busy in the mornings and afternoon when the nearby high school lets out. I love you Foundry! read more

Over the last year trying new coffee places has become a favorite adventure. I'm unsure how I waited this long to find Foundry Provisions since it is without walking distance. I typically order an Americano, hot or iced, depending on the temperature outside. I've been pleased nonstop and I usually pop in once a week. I cannot speak to the food, however, I've witnessed many folks purchase the breakfast sandwich. The only downside is there is normally only one person working so this makes for long wait times. read more

The hubs and I went in here one Saturday morning and it was packed! Good sign, we thought! We ordered two breakfast sandwiches and asked to sub egg whites (something they couldn't do so we just ordered one sandwich without egg) and added bacon to the other sandwich. They were served with a side of fruit and he ordered a small cup of yogurt and granola ($4.95). We got waters to drink and altogether the two sandwiches and yogurt cup were $25. Kind of steep in my opinion. The sandwiches came out and they were so, so small and the egg was hard boiled and sliced, not fried or scrambled, hence why they couldn't sub egg whites. Interesting way to serve it. The yogurt cup was also very small - like five bites at most worth. Not worth almost $5. The fruit was very delicious and fresh! We weren't blown away by it and likely will only return for coffee in the future. read more

I don't know how I've waited this long to try Foundry but today was the day as I was dying for some good coffee post-call. With the COVID restrictions in place again, Foundry still has carry-out available where you can order easily online or in-store. Their outdoor patio is also open if you want to sit outside. I ordered a latte (Tinker coffee!) with oat milk and almond syrup which hit the spot. We also tried two of their breakfast savory presses to-go which were warm and fresh. I highly recommend the savory press with avocado, boiled egg, spinach, and tomato! They currently have a happy hour special where you can get $2 off a coffee and sandwich combo. The only downside was parking: there did not appear to be a designated lot. Rather, there was street parking out front on 16th or on Alabama which luckily had plenty of available spaces. We'll be back soon! read more

It's a good day in our beautiful city of Indianapolis on the first day of October. No better way to spend a fall Saturday morning than to take a stroll through the historic Herron-Morton neighborhood to Foundry. I was craving breakfast this morning but was looking for somewhere local that wouldn't include a long wait. We biked over to try out Foundry and goodness it's such a hidden gem. Located right off 16th Street Foundry is very close to downtown/the mass ave area. You could order online or at the counter inside. I got a pressed breakfast sandwich and an iced coffee. My sandwich was so good and it came with a fruit cup! Nothing compared to a good pressed sandwich. We sat outside on the patio and loved this option. The patio is tucked away with umbrellas and even a bike rack. While it's a limited menu it's the perfect little breakfast spot. read more

Here's what I like about Foundry: -Its a great addition to the neighborhood. -Friendly staff. -Nice assortment of sandwich options that are made fresh and really tasty. -If you like Tinker coffee, you're in luck. Here are a few things to consider before going: -It takes a bit sometimes to get your food and drink. Typically 5-minutes+. -Seating is minimal when the weather doesn't let people sit outside and people will haaaaaaaang out for a while. If there's no seating, there may not be any seating for a while. -Parking can be tricky. Find a spot on the street. read more

First time here and I love the bright orange exterior and the yellow flowers out front ! It pops! The interior is that of a coffee shop. Outlets, a couple of nice leather chairs, and free WiFi available with the password written on the wall. They have nice shirts available for purchase as well as beautiful flower bouquets by Urban Contessa. I ordered the everything bagel with spinach artichoke cream cheese. The bagels are from Shapiro's. I wish I had the recipe for the spinach artichoke cream cheese. It's so good and flavorful! Stopped in to try a local coffee shop and this place did not disappoint. Both indoor and outdoor seating are offered. The local art decor and plants are for sale and make the place super charming! The free Wifi is helpful to get work done. There are outlets available as well. I do have to say that there was not an empty seat available after 4pm once the local high school kids arrived so go prior if you need a quiet setting. The kids were loud but not disrespectful or disruptive. The bottomless coffee was a nice touch. The plain bagel with spinach artichoke spread that I ordered was house-made and tasty. Street parking was available which was kind of difficult in the high traffic area, but it worked. Overall, I'd definitely come here again. read more

Was in the mood for an eggwich with my coffee in a cozy spot, and found a perfect combo here at Foundry. I waited a few mins and scoped the place for a spot and found a booth opening up. Booths are always high equity so I scooped it up, along with an outlet. Seated for a min, a staff person was quick to call out my order, as well as bring each table a flower (which is always a nice touch). My friend and I stopped in for lunch after the Indy 500 Parade. We worked up an appetite after walking all over the city. So glad this place was open. (The) Morton: Mortadella, artichoke heart, spinach, provolone, Sriracha mayo You can't go wrong with that. It's one fine panini! Paired with great local coffee (Tinker Coffee Co.), it was a satisfying meal. Process: Order at the counter, pay on an iPad (be prepared to tip or not), fill your coffee, find your seat, pick up your food when it's ready, eat, clean up after yourself (there are bins for your dirty dishes). Back in my day, there was a coffee house that sat on the corner of Mass and College called The Abbey. It was a local hangout for anyone and everyone. All were welcome, and I would drive from college in Terre Haute just to be there. The day The Abbey closed was the day the music died for me (ala Don McLean's "American Pie") and I wondered if I would ever find such a magical and ponderous place again. I think Foundry Provisions has come as close to The Abbey as I can find, with some upgrades. First, I love that there is a nice outdoor patio with umbrellas to provide shade on a sunny day. Rainy? No problem! Inside has a number of tables and booths, most of them with electrical outlets so you can recharge your body and devices at the same time. We aren't just talking about one outlet for people to fight over either... most booths have four outlets, so you can bring your friends and you can all plug in and Skype with one another while sitting at the same booth. Another reviewer has commented that the paninis are slightly greasy. I would agree.. but it's not enough to deter me from eating one. Just grab a few extra napkins. The best part? Most (if not all) of the ingredients are local. I forgot about the Longs Donuts until seeing another review just now, and I'm contemplating just walking down there and finishing this review while eating one. This is a great addition to the Old Northside. Welcome to the neighborhood Foundry Provisions. I think we're going to be seeing a lot of one another. read more

Stop #3 of the Caffeine Crawl, 2014! I am almost embarrassed to admit that we had not been here prior to the crawl. Why oh why have we not found this little spot before? Donut holes from Long's Bakery. The best macchiato I have had in a long time. Just 2 of the good things that came from this stop at Foundry Provisions today. We also learned that they bring in lots of locally offered goodies -- smoking goose, teas me teas, traders point creamery -- to add to the menu. We were very sad that time did not allow us to sample one of the sandwiches we saw cooking on the panini presses... they looked and smelled AMAZING! Our hostess for the crawl was really cool -- taking the time to educate us on the history of the building and it's name sake. We loved the setting and the vibe and cannot wait to come visit in the summer with our furkids as the patio is dog friendly. The hubs LOVED the chalkboard wall out front that has been "taken over" by Heron School of Art teens... so cool. We already have promised our artsy 16 year old that we will take her back as soon as possible. Well worth the trip and we will return to try those sandies! :) read more

Cute new coffee shop in a neighborhood that desperately wanted/needed one. I was worried that penning a review less than 3 hours after the first customer walked through the door would be a little unfair, but I shouldn't have worried. Located at the northwest corner of Alabama and 16th street, Foundry Provisions is poised for success. This is a high-traffic intersection so they are sure to do big weekday commuter business. There is also ample parking in the free lot across the start to ease the worries of any suburbanite. The coffee was brewed to my liking -bold but not too bitter. Food options are more numerous than what you would expect to find at you big corporate chain coffee shop. The have the usual sweets (from one of my favorite City Market vendors, Circle City Sweets), and bagels, but they also have a selection of sandwiches that change daily. The decor is typical of what you see nowadays - exposed concrete floor, corrugated steel panel, European-design furniture, a couple leather chairs in a reading nook. Ambient music is kept at a reasonable level for conversation. Although the space is not big, there is seating inside for about 30. The name Foundry Provisions comes from the original name of the building ( The Foundry), before it fell into disrepair after it was vacated by the art school many years ago. I'm really excited to come here with my dogs when the weather warms up and sit in the big outdoor seating area (slate rule floor!). It faces 16th street but is protected/blocked by some more of those ubiquitous corrugated steel panel. I suspect that there is additional seating outside for another 20-30. but this is no drive thru coffee shop. It truly is a neighborhood shop. It seemed like the workers here knew everyone who walked through the door this day (and there were a lot!). There is also a big custom bicycle rack made from galvanized pipe for those who wish to save gas. Come for breakfast or lunch as they're only open until 2:30 pm (2:00 on Sundays). I wonder if at some point the owner will decide to have late night hours to sober up the the huge crowd that lets out on weekends across the street from Greg's Our Place. Considering that this place is less than half a mile from my side, I foresee spending many a morning here pouring over the funny pages. read more

My boss chose this coffee shop to have our weekly marketing meeting. I think I just had a bad experience because of the time I went. I went on a weekday around 8:15. I was early for our meeting and the shop was packed! Apparently there is a high school near by, so there were a lot of kids taking over all the booths. The shop itself was really small, and therefor the store became very loud. Between the large crowd and the espresso machine, it was very hard to hear. My coffee was just okay, I tried both of their drips available. I may consider returning but I will never have more meetings there. Also, be aware the time in the morning you go. Very cute vibe and super friendly staff. All three of us got the all day breakfast sandwich and we have RAVE reviews. The eggs were delicious, bacon bits were perfection and the brioche bun was the perfect bread. I had gluten free bread and it wasn't anything special flavor wise but it was the best GF bread I've ever had at a restaurant! It was close to a white bread texture. I went to Foundry Provisions for coffee with a friend. As soon as I walked up, I was greeted with a beautiful mural right outside (pictured below). I love how much art was incorporated into the decor here. When I go to coffee shops, I always look for aesthetics. Foundry Provisions did not disappoint. The atmosphere was very inviting. I felt as is I was in a small town rather than a big city like Indianapolis. Fun and eccentric murals lined every wall, and chalk paint signs filled every window. The shop was even pet friendly! The wooden tables and concrete floors inside were pretty bare, but they appear as if this was intentional in order to draw more attention to the rest of the art. It was very sunlit and bright. In terms of the service, I appreciated the kindness of the staff and how attentive they were to everyone there, not just me. I was greeted with a very kind staff member, and I felt very welcomed. My order was out in a short amount of time, and I experienced no shortcomings of any kind. Lastly, my food as well as my coffee was delicious! I got a dirty chai latte with two shots of espresso and a warmed chocolate croissant. The drink came in a plastic cup with a sipping lid, and the croissant was warmed with powdered sugar on top. My friend got one of their March specials (I do not remember exactly which one), and she was very happy with her drink as well. You could tell that the staff works hard to make every order the best it can be. My only complaint is that I wish there were more items on the menu. I would love to see flavored cold foams or more bagel options. Overall, Foundry is a new favorite coffee shop of mine! I recommend it to anyone looking to go more local! read more
