Stopped by on our drive back to the east coast. It was Easter Sunday, so when I called, they said that we had to make reservations. When we got there, turned out to be unlimited brunch menu only. It was $23 including a mimosa or bloody mary. The food was okay. The chicken was good, the pasta was a bit bland. Breakfast meats were standard. Breakfast potatoes were super dry and boxy. Carved ham was a little dry but the edges were sweet and crispy. I liked the potato pierogis but the edges were a little dried out. The salad/fruit/cheese bar was pretty extensive. There were also an assortment of breads, butters and mustard. Service was quick and they were nice. My biggest complaint was the automatic 20% gratuity. Not sure if that's something that's always done, strange because there were only 2 of us and we basically served ourselves...with an upcharge for Titos and a coffee, the bill ended up being $60... pricy. read more

This is a unique and wonderful place to eat - Classic Cleveland meets edgy steam punk for what this Elyria, Ohio restaurant is calling the Foundry Kitchen and Bar. My lady (the Wife) had Chicken and Waffles - Belgium Waffle cooked perfectly, moist and fresh, with sweet and savory syrup and sriracha sauce. The chicken was juicy but seemed a little over-cooked a few sectioned overcome with darkened char. I enjoyed the Chef Special loaded grilled cheese w/ a chili - perfectly cooked with accompaniments if tomato, cheeses and bacon. The chili was down-right amazing. Our service was overall a very well appointed experience with a courteous and friendly waiter. I would definitively recommend this place if you ever find yourself near Elyria, Oh - it's even worth a detour of of I-90 / I-480 / I-80 if you pass by Elyria, OH. We tried Foundry for the first time tonight after hearing rave reviews about the food and we were not disappointed! The menu had a wide variety of options including burgers, pizza, and pasta and it's all made from scratch by a skilled chef. They had a large beer list as well! The environment is pretty noisy on a Friday night so I wouldn't recommend coming here if you are trying to hold a conversation or happen to be looking for a quiet date night out. For our appetizer, we ordered the chips and dip (yep we are simple). The sour cream/onion dip was made was very tasty, but maybe a little warm for my taste. The portion size was huge which was really nice! I ordered the bacon mac which came in a personal skillet and the hubby ordered short ribs and gnocchi. Both dishes were out of this world! So glad to see some revival in the downtown Elyria area. I hope good businesses such as this start to lift up this neighborhood again. read more

We don't have lots and lots of choices in Elyria, but this is a good one when you make it. First of all A+ to whomever decorated it, it's an awesome reflection of the blue-collar background of this community. Secondly, fantastic wide ranging drink menu. And finally the food, which is not going to be gourmet, but it's going to be some good every day burger or dish that you might enjoy throughout your life. I really appreciate the atmosphere here, but all other components are lacking. I've been here a handful of times & enjoy the menu except they lack the full on dining service I expect. Kitchen is slow & Doesn't seem to get orders correct. Staff is not synchronized. I get it you are not my server but my empty plates are cluttering my table you've walked by me twice you can simply take one for the team & grab my empty dish. Acts of kindness reflect your business & your money. I had to enjoy the dirty table landscape. I'm paying for an experience please execute it properly. Maybe it's demographics but regardless no excuse management can train these simple techniques to make a memorable dining experience. My boyfriend and I stopped here for dinner and sat at the bar. We were greeted right away by the bartender. We ordered deviled eggs and the BLT salad both were Amazing. I had the black bean tacos and he had the chicken fajitas. Everything was Tasty and Fresh. The peppers in the fajitas were cooked perfectly. I had the corn tacos and I could barely finish the three. Stopped in for the first time on a Saturday evening. The place was busy but we were able to get seated right away! The inside is gorgeous! The workers were all very kind & our food was DELICIOUS! We had the fried pickles for an appetizer (so good!) I got the chicken and waffles and it was excellent! My fiancé got the TJ burger without guac and both of us agree that it was the best burger either of us have ever had! He's extremely picky with food (especially burgers) but we were both extremely impressed. Definitely recommend here! This was our first time at FKB, so glad we came to dine! Our waitress ( Morgan ) gave excellent service, was prompt and helpful with her suggestions. Way to go Morgan! We started with the wasabi deviled eggs, what a delicious appetizer. I had meatloaf, seasoned just right. My hubby had the salmon, perfectly prepared. Good location in downtown Elyria in a great historic building. Lots of parking which made it really convenient. They directed us to the least attractive table right in front of the door, but when we asked for something different they were quick to move us somewhere else. Our server was nice but not super helpful regarding the menu. Nevertheless, we had a good meal-I had the burger that was half bacon, half burger (delicious) and my partner had the Mac and cheese which she enjoyed as well. The sweet potato fries were a little "meh"; next time I'd probably go with the regular fries. Lots of TV's,going with sports, so a pretty high energy place. A worthy stop for us! read more

I had the short rib entree and it was so delicious. I want to go back and try everything. My husband had the brisket poutine and we all shared. It's listed as a starter but plenty for 4 of us. definitely a gem in elyria, was looking for a more traditional/gastropub place to eat during a busy weekend for restaurants in oberlin so decided on here. they have a really big inside space and half in/out area with fans- flowers were set on each table and were really pretty. the service was quick and efficient and our orders and food took no less than 15/20 minutes. we had chips n dip, pickle bites and wings for appetizers which were good- wings the best. for a main i ate a cheese burger with pepper jack which was tasty, and a side of chips. overall a good lunch spot :) read more

Foundry never disappoints. We came in on a Friday night but they recently opened a new side that is for party rentals or allows them to space out for more people on the weekends. My husband ordered chicken waffle pizza with a waffle crust, chicken, bacon, cheese and maple Siracha syrup. This was fantastic! A new twist on chicken and waffles. I ordered margarita gnocchi with a balsamic drizzle. This was a punch of flavor. We are very happy with our meals. We ordered chips and dip for an appetizer, the chips are thin and crispy, just perfect in my opinion. We wanted to order fried pickles but they only have spears. So I liked this place so much the first time around that I stopped again on my way back home from the East Coast. On this trip I had a burger with a side of the chips and sour cream and onion dip. I also had the pretzel sticks for an appetizer. The food was just as amazing as the first time, as was the service. My server, Abby, was super friendly and made me feel right at home. Unlike most places that ask how I want my burger cooked and then make it however they want anyway, the Foundry was spot on with a perfectly cooked medium burger. It was juicy and tasty. Visited for the first time this afternoon after flying in from out of state to see family. Very pleased with not only the atmosphere but the service. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals, everything was fresh and hot. Our server, Chelsea, was fantastic, even with the lunch rush hour happening she refilled drinks, answered questions, and when I brought up that I was dairy free she was attentive to ensure my meal had no dairy products and substituted vegan cheese on my sandwich.
