Solid diner with truly great service and great food! Came here with a larger group for late breakfast / early lunch, and though a sign said they were short staffed, didn't once feel as though we weren't taken care of. The server was stellar! They even made a special coffee drink for everyone who wanted a fun iced coffee experience! I went with the farmers omelette and chose cottage cheese instead of potatoes, and it was a good substitution. Farmers omelette with added cheese was the move, and was a delicious breakfast. The snickers cheesecake we got on the way out was OUTSTANDING. It was silky, chocolatey, and peanut buttery with some caramel flavors really combining for a whole snickers experience. Delicious diner at a good price with great service!

Blue Sky is an absolute classic if you're looking for a local place with no frills or pretention and a huge menu of diner fare. The space is clean, there is a lot of seating to get you in quickly, and the service is fast and friendly. I love coming here for a quick breakfast or lunch with family - usually an omelette or club sandwich. Chef's kiss.

Pierogies (6 pcs not all pictured) with onions and sour cream. Came with our choice of soup.

Great that they are open about an hour later than other diners in the area, especially during the pandemic when others are reducing their hours due to staff shortages. Got in on Thursday at 8 p.m. and focused on the specials which included Lake Erie perch (4 pcs) as well as pierogies. Included were are choice of stuffed pepper soup, and for the perch - dressing, fried mashed potatoes, and cole slaw. With it getting late, we got the pumpkin roll slice to go for dessert. Lots of parking as well as seating. Staff were friendly at the end of the day and checking in on us too.

Not the best French onion soup. Too salty and way too much cheese. Waitress sounded stuff down on table and had no personality.

If you like your food bland and unseasoned, then this is the place for you. Service is always good, but the food offerings are a bit boring.

As someone who appreciates technical execution in the kitchen, I was thoroughly impressed by the consistency across every dish we ordered. The Food: * Meat Lovers Skillet: The layering of the skillet was excellent; the potatoes provided a solid base without being greasy, supporting a generous portion of protein and perfectly melted cheese. * Turtle French Toast: This was a standout. The balance of the rich topping with the texture of the toast created a high-end flavor profile that felt like a specialty item. * Chicken Wraps: Both my wife and mother-in-law noted the freshness of the wraps. The chicken was well-prepared, and the wrap-to-filling ratio was spot on. * Sides: The fries were a highlight--crispy, well-seasoned, and served at the ideal temperature. * Apple French Toast: Another great sweet option that demonstrated the kitchen's ability to handle delicate fruit toppings without making the bread soggy. Service & Value The service was "top notch" from the moment we sat down. Our waitress was the definition of professional: attentive, polite, and genuinely kind, which significantly elevated the meal. When you factor in the very fair pricing and substantial portion sizes, the value proposition here is hard to beat. Final Verdict Whether you are looking for a hearty classic like the meat lovers skillet or a more indulgent specialty dish, the quality of food here is consistent. This is a local gem that I would recommend to anyone in the area.

This trip I had breakfast, ordering a croissant benedict that had reg bacon in place of Canadian. It was good, but the croissant got very mushy with everything on top. I prefer an english muffin for eggs benedict. I also had to order a turkey dinner to go since I was there :) I got clam chowder in place of salad and sadly, it was super thick. I've been here many times and overall, it's a great place! They have a weekend breakfast buffet if you like that style. The hours are very limited, so don't plan on dinner. It would be nice if they had longer hours so you could stop after shopping out that way, but understandable as many restaurants have trouble with staffing.

With GOUD reason too. Hazels is your classic American diner- no frills, just fresh brewed coffee, and comforting meals. I went with their "something new" skillet- a hearty combo of eggs, hash browns, corned beef hash and because i'm me I added cheese too. It was delicious in every sense. I can understand why this diner attracts the locals and visitors alike. Noa got the country skillet with eggs, hashbrowns, onion, peppers, and ham. The ham gave the salty savory kick to balance out the sweetness of the onions and peppers. Truly a treat- and again, huge portion. We also opted for a side of French toast because I feel like it's cruel to go to a classic diner and not get some form of French toast, pancakes, or waffles. They were delicious too. I loved getting to dine at Hazel's and get a glimpse into an Elyria classic. #GOUDapproved Country Skillet | $9.79 Eggs, Hashbrowns, Onions, Peppers and ham (you get the choice of Bacon, Ham or Sausage) Something New | $9.79 Eggs, Hashbrowns Topped with Corn Beef Hash side of French toast | $5.29
