She went for the pan seared salmon (sweet Thai chili, rice noodles, scallion, carrots, crimini mushrooms, snow pea, Fresno peppers and a sesame glaze. I went for the center cut pork chops (bacon balsamic glaze) with brown rice and asparagus. Great location in the middle of town. Big place, but pretty busy all the time. Did a delivery thru Toast for the first time. I ordered boneless wings with mild sauce with celery and blue cheese dressing. I also added extra celery and extra blue cheese. That came up to an extra 1.25. However I didn't get my extra celery or extra blue cheese dressing. The wings were good. I also ordered one each of their desserts. Chocolate chip cake , raspberry cheese cake and Chocolate Cake. Chocolate cake and Raspberry Cake were both delicious. We were too full to eat the chocolate chip cake. Over all good. But the kitchen needs to pay attention to every order. It took about an hour to get the delivery so I never bothered about the celery and dressing missing. read more

This place was everything we needed it to be. They are set up to serve a large range of group sizes and lots of dining patrons at once. We had reservations during Oberlin's graduation weekend. The reservations were easy to get, we were seated promptly, service was attentive, and the menu had a large enough range for everyone in our party. We have been to this restaurant a few times and the food is pretty good. I ordered the Elyrian sandwich which was served on grilled, rosemary sourdough bread. The burger was cooked to perfection, as were the mushrooms, and the caramelized onion. My only complaint was that they used way too much butter on the grilled bread. If you like a greasy, messy, delicious burger then go for the Elyrian. I would order this again and tell them to go light on the grilled buttered (Tallo) bread. Vibes inside are much better than where it's located. Big space with ample seating. They were out of 2/3 appetizers we wanted and meatloaf wasn't ready yet despite being late afternoon. So we had to pivot what we wanted a few times. We had the egg rolls which were hot and delicious. Pepperoni pizza was good flavor but a bit soggy/floppy in spots. Burger was great, cooked to order. Got sweet potato fries after seeing them go by on someone's plate, then when mine arrived they looked nothing like those, were overcooked to the point they were inedible with charred peices on the plate. Other than not attending to the clearly uneaten fries, server was attentive and friendly and offered suggestions. Foundry Kitchen and Bar is a chic spot right in town. Plenty of seating and a long bar. We sat at the bar for lunch. Bartender was very helpful in describing some of the dishes. We started with the short rib poutine... absolutely delicious. I had the chicken parm sandwich. Chicken was perfectly cooked and the marinara sauce was delicious. Take note, it's a big sandwich. This place is a hidden gem in Downtown Elyria. I had been wanting to go, and when I finally made it here, it did not disappoint! The menu has so many interesting options! I was seated in the front area, which was charming and had a fireplace and a lot of outdoor light. I asked our waiter for recommendations, and my dad had the meatloaf he recommended. It was Sunday, early evening, place seemed pretty active, had nice looking bar area with several high tops that looked inviting. But we were greeted quickly and seated in the front area with windows looking out onto the street - seemed nice. Then I noticed food crumbs on the other side of our 4 person table and food on the floor under the table. Clearly the cleaning job was subpar. In relation to this, as we were about to leave, I watched the table next to us get cleaned - when she was done there were still crumbs all over the table. As for food, I ordered the charred romaine with roasted tomato salad with added salmon (their website has a picture of a beautiful piece of cooked salmon which was enticing. When the food arrived, first bite of salmon was bad - quite a fishy taste which means it was old. The romaine was barely charred - bottom leaves were limp and the "roasted" were cold. The balsamic dressing for the salad was heavy and fairly thick - not to my liking. Husband got the Foundry Beef Stroganoff- he liked it, While not a traditional beef stroganoff, it was certainly a comfort food item. I imagine this place is great if you want a burger and fries or maybe even pizza. read more

Angie was our attentive server and did an amazing job. I had the Tuesday special: shrimp taco salad my wife had the taco special. I enjoyed the salad ample amount of shrimp, good taste/texture. Cons: we ordered takeout and waited at the hostess stand for over 15 minutes. Multiple waiters and waitresses literally walked up to the stand where we were, took menus, and walked away without even saying anything to us! Eventually someone decided to speak to us and gave us our food that we had been looking at for almost a half hour. Needless to say when we got home the food was not hot. One of the items we ordered was the black bean burger and it was okay but several condiments and salad dressing were forgotten from our order. I did my first ever restaurant walk out! Our server never introduced herself, asked us what we wanted to drink and walked away typing it into her TOAST. We wanted to order an appetizer also, but she walked away so fast we didn't have the chance. When she returned with our drinks, she did ask if we were ready to order (our menus were at the end of the table) I said yes and that we wanted to start with pretzels. AGAIN, she walked away typing it in. Never asked the follow up question of which 2 dipping sauces we wanted, nor took our order. After 20 minutes of no return and no appetizer, I suggested we leave. My daughter wanted to give it a few minutes. We waited another 10 minutes then got up and went to Texas Roadhouse were we were greeted by Ashley with enthusiasm and took wonderful care of us and appeared to be genuinely excited about her job and having us as her guest. I TIPPED HER HEAVY! Will NOT recommended the Foundry to dine in, horrible service. Too bad too because I really do enjoy the food, I guess stick to carry out, avoid the avoidance, lol! read more

F is for Foundry. Either we got rather unlucky or most of their food is not great. Found ourselves here for a b-day party of 12. Split between 2 tables. Place was busy the whole time as it was Burger special Monday. The service was especially bad. Can't list all the issues but the highlights are.... - Made a Pizza wrong (oil instead sauce) so she asks if she can just bring a side of pizza sauce. Isn't it gonna taste like oil though? Of course, so after one bite we ask for a new one made correctly. The server huffs & takes away the pizza! Coulda left it and the kids woulda gobbled it anyway. By the way, the replacement came after all the entrees were ate & she kinda threw it in the table in front of the person who complained. - I ordered mayo & onion sauce w/ my burger & fries. The burger was good & fries were nice & crispy. Mayo never came so I shared w/ others but I asked second time for sauce. Was gonna add it to coleslaw since it was very dry. When I had only my slaw left I asked again. It finally came after we got our bill! - We only came here b/c bday mom wanted the pierogis - of course they ran out at start of dinner service!! - A Caprese salad was ordered w/ no balsamic glaze but got it all over anyway. Foundryn general the server was salty & not polite. Plus no apology for any of her or kitchen mishaps!! Also, orders were taken directly into mobile device & was difficult for her to find things presumably since each persons took like 30 sec. So she had us handcuffed for quite awhile entering orders. One thing worth noting tasty was the hush puppies. Cooked crunchy but were kinda small. 10 for almost $8. Unfortunately nobody said their food was delicious just mostly complaints. Server probably shoulda had help like a runner especially since they added gratuity at 20%. Pretty cool decor & rustic feel but doubt I'll be coming back here. read more
