Went in for what would have been my mothers 76th birthday. The server is one of the reasons we keep coming back. She is always smiling and see easy to talk too. Saturdays are the best day because of their homemade Veggies Soup. The best in Lorain County. This restaurant reminds me of a diner from my childhood. read more

Took a little road trip for breakfast and it wasn't a disappointment. George's will definitely not be on my "one and done" list. The only issues I had personally was the leftover food on the menu and service was a bit slow, it seemed they were a bit understaffed for a Sunday morning. read more

Someone else said, "It doesn't look like much" and they are right. It's an older looking place, the decor is late 70s early 80s but this is a place to come get some food, you aren't here to propose to your girlfriend. What counts is the service and how things taste. Part of the appeal is that it looks like an old style restaurant and the servers have that same approach. They are all nice people and it only took two visits before the server knew what my order was. That's a throwback if ever there was one. My wife and I had a meal at this restaurant several months ago. She had a breakfast entree and it was fine and looked good. I made the mistake of ordering a hot roast pork sandwich, which is a regional staple. It was slop. Absolutely lousy. There wasn't much meat and it looked old and had a slightly rancid taste. The gravy was like a lukewarm thick pudding and the mashed potatoes were thick and clumpy instant. I can't imagine an American restaurant owner foisting something this miserable on a customer. I'd be ashamed to sell something like that. I should have sent it back and I will NEVER accept slop like that again anywhere. I'm 71 and have and do eat in a lot of restaurants. This place has been a family favorite for years. With the pandemic we been pretty much stuck in the house. My mom, sister, and I went for our second shots and decided that we were going to treat our self to some good home style cooking. Georges is what some may call a greasy spoon. You know what you get at a greasy spoon right? Some of the best damn food on the planet and George's will not disappoint you. Even though they were understaffed that day the wait staff did all they could to be attentive to all the customers. Our waitress was moving so fast that she nearly ran into herself going into the kitchen area. They have some covid precautions. Plexiglass between the booths to alleviate the spread of germs. It is still self seat and yes they wipe the tables and chairs prior to the next customer coming in . It was still morning so I was going to have a great breakfast. What ever reason I did not have dinner the night before so I was really hungry. My order was Country fried steak, with potatoes, and scrambled eggs. I find it hard to find a good country fried steak but this was very good. It was well seasoned and tender. My mom got steak and eggs. My sister order corn beef hash and over easy eggs. I don't know about you but that runny yolk egg over the hashbrowns were phenomenal. Yes, I ate off her plate. Because she is my big sister and I can. The waitress needs a review of her own. She was awesome. Sorry I do not remember her name. But she was great. I can tell because mom is old skool and she loved the vibe and personality she was giving off. I hope that her supervisor knows how great of a person they have. This is definitely a place you and the family go to grab a great meal. My next motorcycle ride I am bringing the group there. Exactly what we were looking for in a place for breakfast. A full parking lot was the first good sign. I always prefer a local place over a chain. Old school decor with old school prices, nothing fancy. Traditional breakfast items (eggs, omlettes with many filling options, pancakes, oatmeal). Friendly service. One of the most ridiculous displays of incompetence I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. From the kitchen staff, who took three times long to prepare my food as would be normal, to the waitress, who brought my meal out in shifts, one plate, getting cold, waiting for the other portion of my meal to show up. Don't even get me started on the idiot behind the cash register who I watched through that whole ordeal screwup one order after the other in complete and utter confusion. At only 25% capacity, there was a line of people waiting to cash out, only to have this boob, trying to figure out each and every ticket. I will never eat here again! read more

I'm gonna give this place 5 stars mannn the food quality is great ! I had the Spanish omelette with jalapeño peppers and onion green peppers, and tomato excellent and the portions nice. The inside is kind of dated but they make up for it in food . I think the menu is way too large for a restaurant this size it's like 4 pages long. But the big but everything we ordered was great according to my guests I was with. A must stop if your in the Lorain Elyria area! read more

Old school family restaurant on the border of Lorain and Elyria. Came here with a party of 7 on a Saturday at 9:30. Had reservations so we were seated immediately. Our server greeted us promptly and she was very kind and sweet. You can tell that this restaurant has workers who care. I got a spinach omelette and a side of sausage links. The omelette was great and cooked perfectly. The sausage links had a weird aftertaste to them that I can't explain. My mom ordered a breakfast sandwich on a croissant with no cheese but unfortunately they added cheese so it had to be remade. Also my daughter asked for a hot tea but it never came out; but the waitress took my daughter's orange juice off the check to make up for it. However, the "orange juice" is really Sunny D which I find disgusting personally. Overall the food was good and not a bad price ($64 for 7 people). The service, as in the actually waitress, was awesome even though a couple things went wrong. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in town. read more

Jackie, our server, was amazing! She might be the best server we have ever had... attentive, super sweet, funny, and just plain nice. She even called us by our names... The food was great too. I had the bacon and cheese omelet and the bacon was cooked perfectly before being tossed in the omelet, the home fries were more like mashed browns but wonderfully crispy. Gosh, I love this place. I love, love, love, love, love it. I order the same thing every time and with one exception (ordering breakfast at lunch time isn't the smartest thing) it has been amazing. I'm very particular about my eggs and yet they come out perfectly over-medium with a runny yolk and fully cooked whites. The hash browns are so yummy--so yummy! And the toast, coffee and water is good too. The thing I love the most? It's not salty! Lots of breakfast places use too much salt and this place uses the perfect amount. I love this place. It's the only resaurant I'll really miss when I move out of Lorain! read more

We eat here on lazy Sunday mornings. The service is great and it just feels like home. They don't mind our crazy kids or the mess we leave behind. The food is cheap and omg the portions are huge. If you get the special which is usually something like fried pork chops, homemade beef tips with noodles, or chicken paprikas, it comes with soup a salad and a side all for around $7 bucks a plate. I used to love this place. Yesterday I went for breakfast and ordered a western omelet. It had no cheese and skimpy on the rest. I went back that evening for a perch dinner. I ordered the Breaded Pork Chops, I was not expecting them to be deep fried instead of on the grill, that did disappoint me some as they are covered with Oil, I did see other customers have great looking food come out to their tables so next time I will order something else. Another thing I didn't like, when they gave me the 2 pork chops the plate was to small, these are LARGE port chops and that plate could not handle it all. You get a lot of food, the price is VERY reasonable I was surprised. They only had one waitress on, the place is a local diner and she was able to keep up, maybe need to clean tables a little quicker but it was nice. I will be going back, it's worth going to. read more
