There is a kiosk for ordering but when we got there, the line was forming (it was about 11:30 am on a weekday) so someone took our order the old fashioned way. We got a signature pancake, a latte and a strawberry refresher. Then we waited only a couple of minutes for our drinks - and then again maybe 10 minutes at most for the most beautiful pancake creation - the signature - topped with whipped cream, strawberries, blueberries and sliced banana. It was a light confection that was not too sweet but very tasty and filling. Sharing one was a perfect light lunch. My latte with almond milk was also creamy and good in a large Alice in Wonderland vibe of a cup. The only thing we didn't love was the strawberry refresher, which was strangely sour - not sweet at all. Overall, nice little place in Davis and we would come back to try more from the menu. The pancakes were super soft, fluffy and not too sweet! Matcha drink was good. The yuzu refresher was very light and did not have very strong yuzu taste which was a little disappointing. I had the breakfast sandwich which was pretty good but I do not normally like runny yolks and this sandwich did have a runny yolk but it was ok. Came here for the Japanese soufflé pancakes and left with the food in a takeout box because seating is very limited. Parking wasn't bad at 10:30am Sunday. Lots of shops. I think this is Davis Commons. Even at 10:30am it was very difficult to find seating. They open at 10am. There are two small outdoor tables and 5-6 small tables inside too. Most of the common area is unshaded turf and concrete. We got the matcha tiramisu pancakes, blueberry cheese pancakes, blueberry latte, and mango matcha latte. Total came out to around $50. They have a self serve water dispenser. Everything is made to order. I noticed the kiosk listed items that aren't on the menu TVs overhead like the more brunch items and a special for blueberry cheese pancakes and refresher drink. It probably took about 10-15 minutes. So in retrospect it wasn't that bad of a wait. But they don't seem to have a PA or people going outside calling your number. You should be prepared to have at least one person near the back to wait for the food. The pancakes were some assembly required since we got them to go and ate in the car. So presentation wise it would have been much better dine-in. The pancakes did taste more savory than I was expecting. There is a strong egg taste. It goes well with the sweet toppings and I can see why it would make the perfect base for the breakfast plates. I was surprised to get a strong coffee flavor from the matcha tiramisu pancake sauce. The blueberry pancakes came with more variety of berries than just blue berries. The drinks were really good! I enjoyed the mango matcha. The drink was being made after our food orders were ready. The blueberry latte basically tasted like milk and blueberry jelly. It was tasty and a pretty color but simple. It wasn't too sweet. I think a lot of the negatives people list can be attributed to them still being new and it sounds like they went TikTok viral. I had bookmarked Fluffy Fluffy for a while now. The videos featuring the Fluffy Pancakes are hard to resist. We came in at the perfect time on Saturday around 2:30 pm ish. There were about 2 or 3 people in the shop. We ordered from the Kiosk and the pancakes were ready in like 5 minutes. It was quick! It was hard to select one flavor since they all look and sound really good. We went with Matcha Tiramisu. The presentation is great and even had the bouncy effect. However, the taste and texture was lacking. It wasn't as fluffy like in their picture and just missing the fluff! It wasn't too sweet, so that was a plus. Perhaps I had high expectation because I know what the Japanese pancake taste like. The portion size is decent and I'm glad I shared it with a friend. I ended up ordering for dine in since who wants to take home cold pancakes? Definitely, not me! Once we placed our order-then the Hunger Games really began as we had to find a table in a place that had maybe 6 tables inside and a few outside.Not the easiest task considering your competing with all those customers who placed their order before you on the kiosk and there wasn't really a system in place for a table.Luckily I was with a party of 3,so each of us were in a different part of the dining area ready to swoop on an open table which led to us getting a table really fast,a few mean looks from other customers not withstanding-it wasnt too bad. Food wise, this is a 5 star place. These souffle pancakes are super airy, light, and eggy in flavor. Although I really hated how small the place was and how you needed to fight for tables, I did not want to take away 1 star based off the seating issue. We got mostly the sweet pancakes and one savory one. The strawberry one was delicious. Even after eating 2 with the strawberries and sauce, you don't feel stuffed. The biscoff was good too. They're all super airy, light and eggy in flavor. So yummy. As for the jalapeno chicken pancake, the chicken was actually pretty good. The chiken was tender. I think the sweet ones go better with the souffle pancakes than savory. I also enjoyed their lattes. There is no order in terms of tables and seating. It's just whoever gets a table whenever. So even if you ordered way ahead of other people, but other people grab a table first, then that's it. Also, the food takes a while to come out. And these things are airy! it's really like you're biting into a cloud. These pancakes have a very light egg taste and are extremely delicate. One of the funnest things you can do with them is to jiggle them around when they get to you. It's fun! My friend and I got one savory pancake and one sweet. The savory pancake had chicken and jalapeños. This dish worked very well and came with a very good amount of chicken. I found the flavors here to be excellent with just the right amount of heat. For the sweet pancake, we tried the traditional standard with strawberries, banana, and creme. This was a perfect sweet breakfast. Fluffy Fluffy also offers up a variety of drinks - both coffee and a fruit refresher. While decent, we didn't find the drinks to be outstanding in any way. We got the matcha tiramisu fluffy pancakes, and they came out quickly. The pancakes were light, soft, and not overly sweet. I went during their Grand Opening weekend, so I'm sure my experience will be different from their new norm moving forward. I was in line for a little over 30 minutes to place my order, then waited over an hour for my food. I did receive a free slice of cheesecake as part of the promotion. The workers were phenomenal! I came on a weekday morning. There was no wait. The service was fine. you order first at the cashier. I ordered the salmon egg benedict. For some odd reason I thought it came with one fluffy pancake but instead the smoked salmon was on top of the two fluffy pancakes. The pancake reminded me of a Filipino pastry called mamon, but less sweet. I ordered the nutella banana pancake for my daughter. She only ate the banana and strawberries. I really like their jalapeno chicken and Japanese pancakes it's very fluffy and I do like the pickle jalapeno and the fresh jalapeno which has the perfect spice and flavor with the fluffy pancakes and the crispy chicken nuggets. . I also like their sweet version of the matcha strawberry Japanese pancakes which is a great selection if you love matcha and fresh strawberries. I really like the matcha drizzle which is not too sweet but it is a really subtle flavor and it's very earthy as well. . I also really like the Oreo Japanese pancake which was into sweet and I do like the dark chocolate drizzle that comes with. I did add a side of matcha drizzle on the side so I do like a Oreo matcha which is what I was imagining. . I also like their basque cheesecake which they had original flavor and a matcha flavor as well. I do like how both flavors was different and the matching one does give a little bit more bitter and earthy matcha taste to it. . Also don't forget to try out there fluffy fluffy latte which is a really nice coffee bean that they use which is bold and is not acidic and also it has really nice berries and chocolate flavor with honey notes as well too. Also I did try out there Matcha drink which was really good just matcha and ice water. . Overall I really like coming to this Plaza because they have lots of great restaurants and the parking is a little bit busy but it's worth it. The service was really nice and the ambiance inside is casual and small with limit seating. The only thing stopping this review from being a lower rating is that it actually tasted decent, if you can wait that long. I know they've been open at least a month, which I understand is still very new but you'd think they would learn after the last few weekends. We came at 11:45 and didn't get our actual order until 1:00! Around 12:30 they had started turning people away because of the wait time, which didn't really make sense because they still kept the door open so they had to tell every single person the same thing every time. They could've probably still taken drink orders since it seemed like the wait was definitely for the food, but they missed out on profit for that. Again once we finally got our food it did taste pretty decent. Was the basic fluffy pancake with whipped cream and a few fruit worth $15? No not really, but the $14 avocado croffle seemed a lot more accurately priced. The place is tiny inside so if you can't snag a table you better order takeout, which you could take outside to the grass area, but there are no tables and chairs out there. Definitely won't be waiting for 1+ hours again for this. Hope it dies down after the hype falls! read more

My experience was not positive. Our group of six lacked guidance on seating, and the service was disappointing. Although the food was good, the overall service was lacking. I politely recommended/ suggested increasing seating options for customers, but this was a major oversight on their part. If you decide to wait outside in the heat for your food, you might have to eat on the turf or find a seat elsewhere. The manager or owner basically told us we'd have to ask another business for seating if we wanted our food served, and their attitude was dismissive. Good food, poor service. I was so excited to try this place but I'm not sure. I stopped in on a Saturday evening. It was busy but there was no line out the door. However, shortly after I ordered, the line had already reached the door so it gets busy here. Not a lot of seating here. I ordered the matcha tiramisu. I'm not sure it was worth $17.75 w/ tax. We very much enjoyed our trek to Davis for the Japanese soufflé pancakes. Having recently been to Japan and sampled them there I was hesitant, but these hit the mark! This is a self serve counter input ordering process resulting in table delivery. The food was absolutely delicious. Although I wish there were more pancake offerings. I came to Fluffy Fluffy on a Thursday morning around 10:30am to meet a friend. This is located in what looks to be a new or at least updated center with lots of shopping and food spots. Very cute area. There was plenty of parking when I arrived but by the time I left it had gotten pretty packed. When we walked in to Fluffy Fluffy, I saw the self ordering kiosk. As I was placing my order, the woman at the counter said we could also place our orders with her. She was very nice. We placed our orders and sat down. There aren't a ton of places to sit, but we were able to find a table with comfy chairs. Our orders were brought out and looked amazing. The only thing I had any issue with is the plates would not stay still on the tables. I think maybe they need to invest in heavier plates that don't spin around on the table because it made the food a little difficult to cut and eat. Other than that, it was a good experience. I had the tiramisu pancakes and iced fluffy fluffy coffee. Both were delicious and I would love to return and try other flavors of the pancakes and coffee. read more
