I absolutely love this restaurant. I have started going weekly to meet a friend and catch up. It's the perfect place to go eat and have lunch. I love all the variety of healthy options but I must admit I'm a sucker for ordering the same thing because it's so delicious. The past three weeks I have been ordering the salmon entrée with two sides, I select Indian spiced cauliflower, and red chili glaze sweet potatoes. The salmon is cooked perfectly and those sides are to die for with such delicious and robust flavors. Oh, and you must try their sangria.. it is to die for! Visited for the firs time this Saturday around 12 and was shocked to see a long line outside the door! The line was so long they had water and shaded spots for their guest to wait outside in 110 summer heat. I feel they should have multiple staff taking orders instead of only 1 person for the mount of guest walking in. I had ankle surgery so I needed to sit ASAP and the waitress said I needed a ticket thing to be seated. I explained my issue and right away they helped me find a nice larger table for my family which was very nice of them. We placed our order and and when the food arrived my order was missed and noticed it was never added. I did a to-go order for two sides of Mac and Cheese. I called once I got to the curbside spot. To start off the woman on the phone was not very polite - stating that the order was only ordered 4 minutes ago and that it was going to take a while. I told her no worries and she reminded me again that the pickup time was about 25 minutes from when I placed the order. Following that I proceeded to wait in the curbside spot until the estimated pick-up time. I then walked inside only to be ignored by the to-go lady for over 10 minutes. It had now been 50 minutes since I ordered my meal. I also only ordered two side Mac's which in my head should never take that long on a Sunday afternoon. When she heard she could eat again within 1 hour after the surgery, she asked for Flower Child to be ready to go. She ordered the noodles, chicken entree with Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes, and pudding. We received everything as expected and it was delicious, but the icing on the cake was they surprised her with flowers & a free pudding! I also got the prickly pear pineapple sangria. Though it was tasty (like all sangrias), it didn't have much prickly pear nor pineapple flavor. Would not recommend getting your hopes up for what sounds like an amazing combination, because it tasted like your typical run-of-the-mill sangria. ** November 2021 Visit ** At the time of my visit I didn't know, but Flower Child is a fast casual chain restaurant with the bulk of the branches in Arizona. There are three in California, but unfortunately, not close to enough to home/work for me to visit regularly. Regardless, I decided to check them out since I wanted to replenish my body with some healthy (but tasty) greens. During my visit there was a Buy a $50 gift card and get a $10 gift card for free, (I think this is a holiday promotion) so I figured I would take advantage of the deal since all the Yelp reviews were so positive. So, glad I did as the food here was my favorite during my Phoenix roadtrip and I visited twice! I ordered the "Butternut Squash & Organic Pear Salad" ($10.95) which included brussel sprouts, arugula, organic kale, candied pecan, ricotta salata, cranberry, puffed wild rice, and sherry dressing. It has a nice crisp, acidic flavor and all the ingredients just work well together. It's incredibly refreshing and for an additional charge you can get a protein - Salmon is definitely the best just take my word for it. The use white breast meat for the chicken, which is a tad dry for my taste and the shrimp is just so-so. I also tried their unique fountain beverages, but didn't find anything too spectacular with it; however, if I lived/worked close to Flower Child I would likely still be a regular customer at Flower Child, because I love that salad! Additionally, the hippie, vibe of the environment is so relaxing and honestly would be a great place to hang out with family and friends.
