Flower Child is one of my favorite restaurants! They have such a great selection for those with allergies or those wanting to eat healthier. Everything I've tried has been delicious, but I especially love their steak plate with gluten free mac and cheese, enchiladas, butternut squash lasagna (specialty item so not always on the menu unfortunately), kombucha on tap, and gluten free lemon cake, and chocolate coconut pudding. You honestly can't go wrong with any of those! The food here is very well prepared and even those without allergies or health concerns love it. I also love dining in here because it's so clean, cute, and trendy! It's perfect for dining with family or friends because it has such a good ambiance. I've also always had a great experience with the service. It's relatively quick and the employees have always been kind and helpful to me. 10/10 recommend! read more

Ok, let's start with parking. Flower Child shares a parking lot with North Italia. Parking is a bit of a nightmare. There is a line usually and water, juice, and shade are provided. This place had a lot of hype and I had never been to any locations so I thought I would try it out, especially being vegetarian, I heard there were a lot of options. I went for lunch during the middle of the week and it was still pretty busy. The line was long. While waiting someone gave us a number to tell the cashier and she went and picked it a table for us. Convenient? Yes. Did I like the spot? No. You can choose to move but there are not many open options by that point. The food was really good. I had the avocado salad and it had a lot of avocado in it. But some of it was brown and very soft. The macaroni and cheese was also delicious. The menu is small and limited. I played it safe and got the chicken + mashed potatoes + mac & cheese. These chicken was nice and juicy with a ever so slight flavor. The potatoes and mac were good. The mac was actually very good with a nice silky cheese. If I had to deduct anything was that I wanted more so I ended up eating the mac that she didnt eat. In other words not enough for me - too much for her. The eco hippy in me says this is good as I would rather be slightly hungry then people always throwing away food because the portions are way too big. Helps the planet. Would go back. The food here is super fresh and delicious. Service is top notch with food going through several layers of quality control to ensure you get what you ordered (my wife changed a few things on her order, and we saw just as it was ready to be delivered to a table, the server did a "check" versus the order and they remade another, we would have never known except for that I was watching them, kitchen is open). The whole place has a very chill vibe, an eclectic modern countryside feel. Like you are visiting your grandma on a farm in some rural town, if your grandma was Stevie Nicks. We've been wanting to try Flower Child in Scottsdale for years but never made it....so when we heard Fox Restaurants was bringing FC to Gilbert we were so excited! The experience was wonderful from the beginning, we were greeted in line by a vivacious young man who explained FC's concept and also recommended some faves too! Yum! From the second we walked in we were greeted with smiles. The team was helpful explaining the menu to our group. I ordered the shrimp with my 2 sides being gf mac n cheese and broccoli- all delicious. My husband enjoyed the steak - cooked to perfection. My sister got the glow bowl and raved about it. For dessert I had the pudding with almond and coconut on top and it was delicious. The lemon cake muffin my sister loved as well. I recommend starting with their hummus app too! I used to love the food at Flower Child. Not having eaten here for a while and not at this location, I went with a friend for a girl's night out. We both got sick. It was weird to realize that we both got sick eating different foods here so we've concluded that Flower Child must be using the MSG equivalent called yeast extract in their dishes, or some other flavor enhancer. Such a disappointment. When we ate our 2+ a protein plates, there was nothing in common on either of our plates. She had chicken, mashed potatoes and broccoli salad. I had tofu, sweet potatoes and cauliflower. Both of us thought our food tasted 'umami' during dinner, but within about 30 minutes after finishing we both were exhausted (like limbs made of concrete) and cranky and I had a mild sensation of my throat closing (I'm allergic to some yeasts and MSG). Clearly an allergic reaction for both of us after the uber-tasty vegetable dishes. I would bet on it being 'yeast extract' or something similar as a flavor enhancer and welcome a comment/response from Flower Child to explain what's in their food that did this to both of us eating completely different foods at their restaurant. Until we know what made us feel like utter crap after eating dinner here, we won't be back. Life is too short to have an immune response to one's dinner. read more

Honestly, I LOVE THIS PLACE. It is on the pricier side but I never feel guilty for wanting to eat out at Flower Child. Their menu has a variety of options to pick from. My favorite is the Mother Earth bowl with steak and Chili Sweet Potatoes. It's so yummy and filling! Aesthetics totally matter to me. The room is welcoming and beautifully decorated. I LOVE their bathroom. I truly dislike dirty public restrooms so, a beautifully decorated and CLEAN bathroom is always appreciated. I ordered my food online. They are quick and efficient. I got the same thing as always and it did not disappoint! They have everything ready as I ordered and bring it out as soon as I pull up. I like to eat a half for lunch and save the rest for dinner. It's the perfect amount. Always filling and always efficient! The one thing that I would improve is to make sure to provide plastic utensils in the to go bags as they often don't give any. I was skeptical at first because I don't really like veggies but surprisingly ate the entire thing. Who knew a salad could taste so good. Fresh quality ingredients and flavorful dressing. Their mango sencha iced tea was so good. It's unsweeten with subtle notes of mango which was perfect. I brought my husband back for the second time 2 days later and he also loves it. He tried the Mother Earth Bowl with steak. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. The only negative I would say is the portion size and the price. We were unfortunately still hungry afterwards. After adding protein to the dishes the price was steep. Still glad I discovered this place and can't wait to try other dishes. Worst delivery experience ever, I ordered my family a meal around 6:00 pm, and mentioned delivery is at 7:02 pm when we got the order it was for someone else, we have someone wrong order. I called the place they said they will send someone, we live 12-14 minutes away from the restaurant. And they mentioned at 7:42pm, the delivery person left 10 minutes ago, worst customer service & delivery, and the door dasher shows to flower child system as delivered, I have ring cameras, and no one even showed up. The manager mentioned If I can come tomorrow to get a meal. But It would've been great if they offered a gift card for the inconvenience not just a manager word. And they said they will give me refund, of course I will get my refund, I didn't even get it. But the inconvenience was literally so bad to the point the restaurant wants me to contact door dash about this. Instead of them as restaurant making it right. This is not my first I received a wrong order from this place, even when I did curbside pick up they gave someone else order twice. The restaurant should be on top of it, not blaming DoorDash. I like it. A solid choice for a trendy, hip restaurant with food that both tastes and feels good. Dropped by late with the husband, and he got the Mother Earth bowl with steak while I got a chicken entree and picked the broccoli and mac for the sides. We also ordered two strawberry kombuchas which we were handed before sitting down. Once seated, I got to really scope out the place. It's a cute restaurant, love the fresh style. The open kitchen is entertaining and adds an element of finesse. There's also an outdoor area with heat lamps if it isn't too chilly. We chose indoors because I don't do cold lol. Now, food took a bit to come out. I was a little disappointed at the temperature of my chicken and broccoli. Despite having just been brought out, the chicken was barely lukewarm and the broccoli was in the same state. Luckily the macaroni and cheese was warm, and it ended up being my favorite part of the dish (doesn't have a weird texture at all despite being gluten-free). The flavor of the chicken was good, and I liked the lemon sauce and breadcrumbs on the broccoli. I just wish it were more warm. For my husband's meal, he was more skeptical. He's a bacon burger and fries kinda guy, however; he ate every last morsel off his bowl. He kept commenting on how great it was. I took a bite myself, and had to agree. He got the better item on the menu, as every component to the dish worked well together. I especially loved the sweet potatoes. Shall I return? Yes. I'm a sucker for any kind of a trendy shop with overpriced healthy food (it is a little overpriced, not gonna lie).
