Best sandwich and gyros place around! Great food, prompt and friendly service and the price is right!

Absolutely love this place! We have been going here for almost a decade. They revamped the menu over the last few years & I feel like they take great care not to just throw up anything. Do I like everything on the menu? No. But it's just not my taste & that doesn't mean someone else won't find it delicious. For starters the spicy Italian sausage in a combo didn't work for me. But not low quality just the taste combination didn't work for me. Onto the really good stuff. Their gyro burger is amazing!!! It is just a match made in heaven! The burgers are fantastic on their own and as well as the gyros but together super yummy! They also added the upside down gyro which is fantastic as well. They're able to customize it anyway you want. I really like the addition of the fried egg & other add-ons to put on any sandwich. I love a burger with a fried egg on top...magical. Hot Dogs are great. Love the pizza puff. The subs are huge & better than anywhere. The pork skewers (souvlaki) are so tender & flavorful & good on a pita. Cheese fries are another favorite as well. I've been going to Flips for about 25 years. The menu has changed for the better in that span, so you can tell they are adapting to our tastes over time, while sticking to what they do best, the gyros (among other things)! I'm also happy to see a food establishment span decades in Glen Ellyn, which in my experience, is a village where restaurants don't last very long. Try it! read more

After all the reviews on Yelp, I really expected better of Flip's. Flip's is basically just your average Chicago style hot dog stand. I'm a connoisseur of Italian beefs, and I like to try up different spots. When I took a bite, the first thing that came to my mind was bland. It was pretty juicy, but it just lacked bite and spice, and honestly tasted like it was pre-packaged. The fries were pretty decent, but I don't come for the fries. I'd still give Flip's a shot in the future, but I'm gonna give it a 2/5 simply because the beef was so tasteless, I'd rather get a pre-packaged, oven roasted beef sandwich from Rosati's. I'll only eat Gyros if they're really good, so maybe I'll try those here when I'm in the mood next time. read more

I used to be a regular here,the food is very good here. The reason i've stopped coming here is I feel they are overpriced. Bring your bankbook with you if you come here and you are really hungry/because it will cost you if you want to leave here feeling full. read more

Great Italian beef and Burgers. My wife and I have stopped there and I got the Italian beef w/mozzarella and hot giardiniera, she ordered the double cheeseburger. She said the burger tasted like summer to her, because of the fact it is char grilled and fresh and the beef sandwich was a 4 napkin kind, which I love. After linch we walked away with 4 pounds of take out beef to take home for Super Bowl Sunday and a shake to go! read more

Best fast joint in area!! I remember working at Ymca years ago and always going there!! If I am in area or at Ymca I make it a point to stop in and get food to go!! The Guys at Work told Me it was Great....so I went there..I Was Not Impressed at All!.....Ordered a Rib eye Steak Sandwich...it was Paper thin....I was still hungry so I went back up for a Second one...thinking since I was ordering another one they would give Me a Nice One.....the Owner Served Me an Even Smaller One with Rubbery Fat all over it......What a Disappointing Waste of Money!.....also Their Sign use to say Scala Beef on the Sign...now its Covered Over.....so now what Cheaper Beef...just like the Thin Fatty Steak Sandwich read more

Order an Italian beef with fries and a drink. Cold fries and beef was cut too thick and was chewy/rubbery. Prefer my beef shredded and falling apart. Also had it dipped but still lacking flavor. Wouldn't eat here again! read more

Flips is by far better then portillo's in price, taste, and quality. The staff always greets you when you first walk in which is nice, and they are very quick to give you your order. The hamburger is by far one of the best things on the menu. The meal deals are also very fair, a drink and fries with almost everything they offer fora reasonable price. Love this place!! read more

The Best fast food ever. I buy it in Chicago and take it to my family in St Louis. It is that good!!!! The hummus and chips are amazing! Not sure how they season the bread chips but really delicious! Gyros are loaded full of meat. Plenty of tsasiki sauce. Kids love the hotdogs. Served with a fresh dill pickle spear. Yummy Greek Salad - I leave off the onion and " eyebrows". And did I tell you how super friendly and kind the staff are?! My daughter is gluten and lactose free so she loves the side order of gyro meat. read more

I had the Italian Beef and it was very good! Not too spicey and nice and juicy. Fast service and nice seating area outside.

Been coming here since I was a kid so my opinion may be a bit jaded. I have seen lots of posts about their hot dogs and beefs but none about their subs. They are phenomenal. Good vegetables, plenty of meat and cheese and the bread is firm. Not so firm that the stuffing slides out when you take a bite but not so soft that it gets soggy if you take your time eating it. 5 stars read more

I was looking for a place local for a great Italian beef sandwich and wanted to get something different from Portillo's.I saw a lot of great review"s on their beef"s.I have eaten there before for gyro's and they were pretty good.I really think they need to take the Beef out of their name.It was horrible ,at first look I thought I thought found the perfect beef,but look!s were decieving, it was SHREDDED TASTELESS MOUND OF MUSH,with bread that tasted like it was dipped in oil. This is a long-time favorite for gyros, beef sandwiches, hot dogs and fries. The gyros are very large with good quality meat and toppings. The fries are always fresh and hot. I only have to take a star off because of the frequent errors in the order. It's a standard ritual to check them now before I leave the parking lot! read more

The greek salad with chicken is off the hook. Everything else smells great, too, but I don't mind skipping all of the fried stuff since the salad is so good.
