    Hot Nashville Sandwich
    Khalid F.

I've been to the Bridgeview location of Holy Buckets and was fortunate to try out the new Lombard location recently. I thought I was going at an off-time (4:30 pm), but it was packed. We were lucky to get a table. There's plenty of parking outside, but inside is somewhat small. The menu has a decent selection of chicken sandwiches and bowls. They even have a beef burger. We ordered a Holy Bowl, a Hot Nashville sandwich (medium), and a banana pudding. The Holy Bowl was very tasty, but health-conscious folks beware. It had sliced pieces of fried chicken, french fries, mac & cheese, and sauce. The Nashville sandwich was very good, but I like Chi-Tea's sandwich better. My wife thought this sandwich was spicy, but I thought it was perfectly fine. The banana pudding is made by a third party called The Cake Factory, but it was pretty tasty. Happy to have another halal option in this area. Chi-Tea and Seoul Bites are in the same plaza, and Hello Shawarma is supposed to be opening a Lombard location right here as well.

Food was good and the staff is super nice :) I got the 3 piece chicken meal w/ the biscuit, fries, and coleslaw. I will say even the spicy chicken is not spicy AT ALL but it is crispy and juicy!

Cheese pizza with sausage, green peppers, and onions

Nice place to get a pizza if you're looking for sausage and pepperoni that's Halal. I ordered a sausage and green peppers and onion Pizza. They only have one size and I also showed the receipt for it. I never knew it existed, maybe some better advertisement might help. Overall, I can't speak for the chicken, but I can for the pizza, it was good to better, it did need some salt for me, and it was only one size fits all I believe. I left a picture of the Pizza and the receipt you can make your comparison if you think it was a good value or not. I do wish they placed more items on the Pizza. The sitting area was nice, clean overall and the attendance behind the counter were giving good service and were polite. They could be more helpful in discussing the menu with customers since if you are a first time you may need assistance. And I wish they spent more time behind the counter than once they take your order, they go back behind the wall into the kitchen. I think this would give them an impression that they are busier and do care about increasing service for customers. Overall, I like the place and I would've definitely given higher stars if there were more items on the Pizza and they spent more time in front of the counter.

Horrible customer service, unorganized, and most of the time they don't have pizza dough! Plus, they don't answer calls!

I ordered The Ellen, their plant-based burger, and it was fantastic. It's a Beyond Burger patty topped with vegan cheddar, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, and raw onion, all served on a soft pretzel bun. For a side, I had to try the poutine fries, and they were a total game-changer. They come out in a skillet and are absolutely loaded with gravy, cheese curds, bacon, and a dollop of sour cream. Super indulgent and the perfect comfort food. They charged extra for a dollop of mayonnaise! The service was very attentive. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

(full disclosure, we stopped in on a Monday night so that could be the cause for some of the experience....) We, a group of four, walked into a complete ghost town. There was barely a soul in the place. It didn't seem to affect anything with the food or service it just felt weird given the size of the bar and dining room area. Which, if you have a big group, this is a great spot to host a large gathering! Our waitress was very friendly and gave us ample attention, taking our orders quickly and delivering food that was hot and fresh. We had burgers (both were great but my Cartel was INCREDIBLE), a salad (tasty) and chicken fingers (yum!). Their burger menu has some fun options and covers a wide array of everything. The one thing that gave me pause, however, was that they only have pretzel buns (aside from gluten free). However, they were not dry at all and tasted delicious! The way a pretzel bun should! We left full and satisfied. I don't know how quickly we'll be back because there are so many other options for burgers out there but I'll certainly keep this spot in mind for the future!

The bar staff is always friendly, quick and attentive, and it's always very clean. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out what goes on with the food selection in this place I've been coming here for probably about 10 years and they have had probably as many themes. Between a palace of bacon and then not and then partially bacon and then bacon and vegan, and then just vegan and regular pub fare. It's close to the house so I will occasionally stop in for a beer and something after work. Usually, I will get a chicken Caesar wrap because that's pretty much impossible to screw up, but once in a while, I will have a taste for a burger and after all, this is a bar...and I've had bad bar burgers at bars all across the country, they usually are at least serviceable. Not here. Each time I order one I remember why I go back to the chicken Caesar wrap. Newest exhibit being their new Smash-burger. I selected the pretzel bun so I knew it was not going to be a typical smash burger but when the patties come out like gray school cafeteria burgers without a trace of smash or crisp to them, I'm not sure whoever created this menu has ever met the kitchen staff. Generally a Smash-burger should be a homogenous congealed mass held together by good will and melted cheese. I cut this thing in half and it fell over like a Jenga tower. The buns are consistently pretty stale. I can't imagine if burgers are this much of a gamble...how are entrees like pot roast? Who is even ordering enough of these things for it to be fresh when it seems like everyone's getting sliders and nachos.

It's my go‑to spot for a classic Fish Fry, and after years of coming here, it still never disappoints. We arrived a little after 5:30 p.m. on a Friday and, as expected, only waited about five minutes. The moment you step inside, you're met with a lively bar scene--TVs tuned to various games, tall tables lining both sides, and a steady buzz of conversation. People are eating, drinking, and genuinely enjoying themselves. What surprised me most was how many families were there, even with infants and toddlers in tow. And honestly, it was great to see. The kids were calm, the parents looked relaxed, and the whole place had this easygoing, everyone's‑welcome energy. We sat in the back, and the table was cleaned quickly. Our server Heather brought menus, though we already knew exactly what we wanted. The menu has a big selection, but for us it was three orders of the Fish Fry. You can substitute sides--sweet potato fries, tots, or onion rings--and the meal comes with hush puppies and coleslaw. Drinks and water arrived promptly, and the entrées followed soon after, piping hot. The fried fish was flaky and flavorful--nothing like the heavy, all‑batter, no‑fish situation you get at some places. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. We asked for refills and they arrived almost instantly. I'm already looking forward to coming back once the weather warms up so we can enjoy the patio. This place continues to be a reliable, welcoming spot with great food and an even better atmosphere.
