They're currently having a BOGO offer. Called in my order, when I got there the line was 7 deep. Stepped to the pickup window and they couldn't seem to find my order. Needed to get back in line to pay. Cashier made my shake and proceeded to wait for my order. After the numbers being called were after mine, I stepped back up. He had some of my order on the shelf? He nearly forgot about the cheese cup and the root beer. Once we got home noticed that he forgot a fries, after I went over the order twice! Disappointed and Disheartened at Flips in Glen Ellyn Well, I guess Flips in Glen Ellyn decided to flip the script on compassion and common sense today. A woman who's been a regular there was denied service...not because of anything dramatic but because she had her 3-pound Yorkie, Jax, with her. Jax isn't exactly Cujo; he's a licensed service animal, tiny enough to fit in a purse, and far more polite than most humans I've seen at brunch. Here's the kicker: this wasn't her first visit. She's brought Jax before without issue. So either the staff suddenly forgot Illinois law regarding licensed service animals... or they've decided that empathy and awareness aren't on the menu anymore. Look, maybe they're just genuinely unaware that denying access to someone with a documented service animal is not only heartless but also legally questionable. Ignorance of the law might not be bliss, but apparently, it's the house special. If Flips doesn't "believe in" service animals, that's cute ...but unfortunately, federal law isn't faith-based. Here's hoping they take a moment to educate themselves before flipping off another loyal customer and her tiny, well-behaved dog. read more

The beefs are very good, better than most/all of the chains. The burgers are good enough to compete with the chains that specialize in good burgers (meaning, I really like them) Had a triple yesterday.. might go for the quad next time. I still haven't tried the Gyro's but they look great (for some reason, I always want a beef or a burger when I go there) The fries are sometimes very good and sometimes ok, It all comes down to freshness. Sometimes my fries are piping hot and sometimes lukewarm... yesterday was a lukewarm day. You know what's great? Their portions.. the regular fry is ample.. I always get the large, but I really like to treat myself. I'd do 5 stars for sure if they could figure out the fry thing. I'd still prefer "fresh cut" fries, but their regular cut fries are really tasty when they're hot. They have an awesome menu. There's so much to take in.. it's just fun. Also, they totally fixed the sign, looks great! Parking is always easy. It's pretty much a don't miss place.. if you like this kind of food (you know, like a normal person) If you are going down the street to Buona.. you are missing out.. the beefs are better at Flips and while the fries are similiar.. the value is all Flips! On the burger front.. the same thing can be said about That Burger Joint (also down the street).. Flips.. better burger.. and the fries are a preference thing.. My quest to find the best gyros in the area continues... I was nearby and didn't have a ton of time and had never been so I stopped in for takeout. They have a nice size outdoor patio and plenty of seating inside. It's much like your typical beef stand anywhere in the Chicago area. order at the counter and they make it quickly while you wait. I was greeted immediately by the friendly cashier and perused the menu. They have a quite a lot of choices - Italian beef, hotdogs, burgers, sausage, gyros, subs, and salads, so you get more variety here than some other places. There are also a few specialty items on the menu - I loved that they had corresponding pictures and descriptions underneath to explain what each one was. I recommend coming in once or twice before you order to-go or for delivery. I settled on the 'maxed out gyros' which was an extra portion of meat plus an additional pita as I was bringing home to share with my kid. I also ordered a large fry, ($5!) but after studying the menu a little longer, I could've got a meal with a Drink for about the same price. Live and learn. It was a good portion of fries. I munched on them the whole way home and had plenty left over. I would say they are a cross between McDonald's and Portillo's style. They were hot and fresh. I believe they use Kronos gyros so they are high-quality, and there was plenty to share. We each made a fat sandwich and there was extra tzatziki in the box. Quality of the gyros was top notch, the tomatoes were bright, red and juicy, and the tzatziki was thick and delicious, I was out the door for $21 and we were both stuffed! If it were a little closer, this would definitely be in my regular rotation, but when I'm in the area, I am definitely going to stop in again and try out some other other fun creations! they have a "meat mountain" that I need to get to the bottom of....Definitely recommend... read more

If you want a solid meal that comes out hot and quick every time, Flips is your place. I wake up in the morning and immediately crave the chicken philly bowl. Once again, I come in and I have stuff missing out of my order just like before. I'm really tired of giving these places chances and the prices are sky high and the service and the food quality has gone way down. It was cold, ICE COLD first of all and I just got it The other person in my party is like don't be a Karen and just eat it. I'm like right I just got it and it's ice cold and it tastes like crap I would rather go get some thing else that I'm actually going to eat. I did pay for it then I took a bite of the chili alone I'm thinking why does this taste so weird so I start digging around..... this isn't the same chili that they've been using you know when you vomit because you've had too much to drink and that taste is in your throat. That's what this chili tasted like. I don't know how else to describe it it's that bad! when I went up to get my missing items I asked them did you guys change your chili because it tastes completely different and they said yes we did. How do you like it? It's homemade now I'm said whatever you were using before was better this one is horrible and they asked why don't you like it? I went with my daughter to purchase dinner. We spent $52.00 .I had taste my fries and they were old and not hot. So I went back I told the lady at the registered she told me to go down to the end. I told the young man with glasses and a beard that my fries were cold and old. So he replace them with hot fries. For years I'm still going to this place once in awhile. They keep adding food to the menu. I don't know how the cooks can remember so many items. Sunday I got 3 corned beef reubens for St. Pattie's Day. They were good. I couldn't tell if the dressing was thousand island, but it was ok. If you sign up for their rewards you may get something you like. With the reubens I could choose a free side like chips or fries. I got the fries with each. OMG! Lots of free fries. Hot and fresh.
