    12th Tribe Reuben

As you walk up, you'd think nothing of this cute little deli. It looks like an average place. But, it is far from it! Shane's has lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Everything is sparkling clean. They have a broad selection of drinks, sandwiches, soups, and snacks. And, their staff are all extremely friendly! Also, they have an old vault from the bank. Which, is interesting to see. So, stop by to experience it for yourself. 12th Tribe Reuben-Thinly sliced rye bread, shaved Boars Head corned beef, Russian dressing, Swiss cheese, topped with sauerkraut. This sandwich is pressed in a hot panini press. Which, create layers of flavors and textures! For a sandwich that is simply devine! If you're looking for a new deli to try. Then, come here!

Shane's seems to have all of the tradition deli sandwiches. I tried an adult grilled cheese that was on special. Ham, Muenster and jam. The bread was very good quality. I also had the potato salad which was exactly how I like it--with a bit of mustard. They were moderately busy on a Monday at lunch and my service was quick for a made to order sandwich. There is lots of indoor and outdoor seating.

After passing by this deli tons of times decided to finally stop by and try it out ! I ordered a BLT with a side of pasta salad and then my boyfriend ordered the Italian sub . The pasta salad was fresh and had lots of flavor the sandwich was just OK . I felt it was a typical sandwich and tasted like one I could make at home . Overall was a decent sandwich shop , but don't know if I need to come again .

Really good classic deli sandwiches. Tried both the roast beef sandwich and the pollo pesto. Both were delicious! Very good quality meat, the beef was so tender. Generous portion of beef too! I absolutely loved the roll it was on too. Crusty but not too hard to bite into and chew. Also loved the pollo pesto. Good balance of flavor and not too much pesto overpowering like I've had at other delis. Really good service, prices, will definitely be back next time in town.

Shane's is a vegan's friend. I really appreciate I can get an actual sandwich with more than 2 ingredients. Well done.

3.5 stars, but rounded up because I didn't feel they deserved any deduction…read more I was REALLY looking forward to their #20 Old New Yorker, which I got in their Navel Cut pastrami. It was a solid 7, which is why I place it at 3.5 stars. I may be being picky here but it just wasn't to the level of "melt-in-your-mouth" pastrami standards for me. Not to say it wasn't good, because it was perfectly fine. In fact, it's better than most of the pastrami sandwiches I tried in Chicagoland. Maybe it's the fact that I had to bring it back to the office to eat it, and half hour had gone by and pastrami weren't as warm and the Jewish rye had become soggy by the time I took the first bite. I mean, it goes without saying that the sandwich would have been 3 times better had I sat down immediately and had it. Again, all things considered, it was a perfectly good sandwich. One interesting thing was that I had never been to an establishment that included a half sour pickle instead of a normal one and gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. Pickles can be a hit or a miss for me. I like my pickles to be crunch, but some places offer overripened ones that become borderline mushy. Schmaltz's half sour pickle was not overly salty or sour, making it very attractive for me. The more I'm thinking about it, I'm convinced that I'll have to go back and try their #14 Sloppy Paul, which is the corned beef with sauerkraut, which is another favorite of mine. And this time, I'll be sure to dine in and give another review of it to see how much I like them better.

Lots of fun deli sandwiches to choose from. I chose a French Dip; hubby had a pick two-- a cup of matzo ball soup, and 1/2 corned beef sandwich. Both served with a whole new pickle. Mine was absolutely delicious. Tons of beef, melty swiss, and grilled onion. Served nice and hot with a tasty au jus. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his as well. Great Jewish deli. Highly recommend whether you're Jewish or not! ;)

Maybe it was just a bad day for them today, but it was less than expected. Went with my wife and son for lunch. The young lady at the counter seemed to be having a bad day, at least I hope she was, because if she's like that every day, she shouldn't be working there. She had attitude and was short with us. It wasn't anything she said, but rather, the abruptness with her questions and overall demeanor. If we ordered anything on the side, or asked for something different than what usually comes on a sandwich, she huffed and eye rolled us. It didn't make us feel very welcome. We got a number and sat down and waited. When our food arrived, we were short one soda and a side of vinegar and oil. No worries there. I was taken back a little that we were charged 50 cents for water, $2.50 for one slice of Gouda cheese, and 50 cents for an oil and vinegar cup. There is also a 3% charge for using a credit card. The actual food was better before. My combo sandwich was somewhat bland. I remember the hot dog being bigger before. It went from a deli hot dog to a regular sized one. My wife thought the turkey burger was bigger before as well. Overall, I remember it being more flavorful in the past. My potato salad was still very good. The cannoli pieces were outstanding. The place was fairly crowded being Mother's Day, and the service was pretty quick. Turkey burgers take a while to cook. It's always lively but quiet in the restaurant which I like. I hope this was a one time dud experience, and I will be back, unless the cashier has another bad day, and the food is lacking taste.

It had the perfect crunch, fresh ingredients, and a great mix of Sweet n Savory flavors that made it really stand out. 5/5 stars: Apple Ricotta Almond Cake- it was soft moist and practically melted in your mouth. Honestly, I tasted far too indulgent to be gluten-free and the best way possible. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would absolutely come back. I had the pimento dip, the 3 cheese breadsticks, and the baguette with fig spread and honestly considered canceling the rest of my day and just living there. The drinks absolutely held their own too.
