My husband and I stopped into Jake's Deli for lunch and had such a great experience. I enjoyed the salad bar with added chicken and paired it with a cup of wild rice soup -- and wow, the soup was absolutely delicious! Perfectly comforting and full of flavor. My husband ordered the Beefeater sandwich and really enjoyed it -- hearty, fresh, and exactly what you want from a classic deli favorite. The service truly stood out. The cashier was so friendly and welcoming, and I believe the manager (she had a ponytail and was wearing a black polo) was working next to her and was equally kind. The cashier even asked if we were rewards members. I couldn't remember if I still was, so she kindly looked us up and sure enough -- I was! We even had a free drink on my account, which was such a nice surprise. Great food, friendly service, and little extra touches that make you want to come back. This place is rated highly by others, but for me it has been a place of rudeness, small portions and high prices. I even walked out once because the order taker was extremely rude. Why did I ever come back? Today I ordered the chicken salad with pineapple to go. It looks weird. No wonder, the chicken is GRATED with pineapple. It is weird-tasting and not good. Place your order and pay at their counter. You are given a number to place on your table. They will bring the food out to your table. Potatoes are huge with lots of cheese on top. Got the CB ranch potato and my husband got the Pollo Mexicano potato. Definitely could have shared one potato, since we got sandwiches too. The Chipotle chicken and avocado panini with tortillas chips was really good. Had a side of salsa and guacamole that comes with the tortillas. I didn't realize the bread was telera bread, which is a bit thicker. Still very good and could only eat half of the sandwich and half of the potato. My husband ate his potato and didn't touch his sandwich. Had gone to the front counter and asked for containers. Also there is a worker that goes around to clean your table and take your bowls, plates, and silverware. Next time will have to try their salad bar. Let me start by saying that I am not a deli fan usually, but I tried this place because my friend got to pick the lunch spot today. The menu is huge and has a variety of soups, sandwiches and salads. The counter person explained how ordering and the salad bar worked. A salad bar?!? You could make your own salad! I loved the ranch and balsamic vinegarette. No I did not mix them. I also ordered the seafood gumbo. Spice level was perfect. It wasn't the best gumbo I've ever had but it was something I'd eat again. Ordered the Turkey Wrap for $10.30. The place has never been very clean. The ice cream machine had spilled ice cream all over the bottom of the machine, running down the counter. The salad bar has items lying between the containers they belong in. The person who delivered the trays to the table was just standing and talking to the guys behind the counter while they were microwaving the food. It's a shame that this place was once very good. It has been going downhill for about a year. BTW, my wife's meatballs were microwaved from frozen. We watched them do it. They tasted like frozen meatballs too! Back to the Turkey wrap. We wanted to try something new on Door Dash and decided to try Jason's Deli and it was FANTASTIC! Found our new fav place! We ordered on a weeknight near closing time but I was so impressed how fresh the veggies were on the veggie sandwich. I ordered a side of pasta salad which was rather bland but I still ate the whole thing. I also ordered the baked potato who was the biggest potato I've ever seen LOL. It was delicious and great you can customize the sandwich and potato. My partner ordered a sandwich with meat which he said was incredible. He ordered chicken pot pie soup and said it was just ok. They have a lot of great soup options so I look forward to trying more from the menu. I also want to go in person rather than delivery because I hear they have a great salad bar. read more

In a strip mall in Naperville. You give your order at the counter, I ordered the New York Yankee and I originally thought the price was $14.09 but I didn't look closely and that's the lighter sandwich which the original $16.09 my total was $17.50 for a sandwich little bit on the high side. I didn't order anything else, and I waited for my sandwich when I saw other people getting their order prior to mine who came approximately 15 minutes after I did ,I was a bit confused,- anyway I asked the attendant if she could check on why my meal hasn't come, unfortunately, her comprehension of the English language wasn't too good. But ultimately my sandwich came. And I've had the sandwich prior and I like it. While I was waiting, I looked at the salad bar and it looks quite nice and fresh. The menu has good selection. The sandwich had a dry taste to it. I don't think I have any complaints once I was able to get it. And I guess the ice cream afterwards is a bonus which I do like. The sitting area is nice in its environment and relatively clean, could it be cleaner absolutely. Will I come back probably but I'll try to order something less expensive. For me the service could have been better however, the manager did bring my sandwich out, and I think he gave me a cookie to make amends. I probably would've given it one more star if just for a simple sandwich it wasn't over $17. Most sandwiches a different places are much less. honestly, my sandwich could've been better, last time you did. Trying the salad bar and a seafood gumbo might be the way to go next time. I'm not sure if you can go back on the salad bar after you have gone once. It's worth a try, it's not the first thing that pops in my mind. But periodically I do come here. This is a solid deli. I usually get the grilled cheese and spicy seafood gumbo. I highly recommend the gumbo as it's well seasoned and very flavorful. I hope to try more items on the menu in the future. They are pretty quick and easy to stop by for a quick lunch. read more

My wife and I love going to Jason's. We go about twice a month and love the friendly people, salad bar, food and ice cream. Yes, at times food around salad bar is a little messy, but that's what you expect when people serve themselves. Just tell someone and they clean it up. It was a beautiful Spring day, so I snuck in lunch at Jason's Deli into a busy morning with my kids. I take them to a mommy and me workout class nearby at Naperville Yard, so when we finished up there around 11 am, we headed to Jason's to grab some lunch. I saw on Yelp that they had tables outside, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity for a "picnic" with my 4 and 2 year old on this 70 degree day in April. Admittedly, I didn't take in much of the scene inside or the menu as a whole because like I mentioned... two kids under 5 in tow. I spotted kids meal options and ordered a pepperoni pizza, a ham & turkey sandwich with apples, a side of chips for good measure, and a couple chocolate milks. Would my kids ever eat all of this? Well, no. They're pretty picky these days, but I figured with two meals they could have options and we'd take leftovers home (which we did). For myself, I grabbed a bottle of water and ordered the Nutty Mixed-Up wrap (which could be ordered as a salad too). This entailed grilled antibiotic-free chicken breast, organic field greens, grapes, feta, nuts, dried cranberries, raisins, pumpkin seeds, organic apples, and balsamic vinaigrette all put together in an organic wheat wrap. This was very delicious! I loved the mix of flavors and having a sweet crunch to accompany the chicken was perfecto. They also had my favorite kettle cooked jalapeno chicks which added the perfect amount of heat to my meal. Jason's Deli seems to have SO MUCH to offer. The menu is huge and diverse. I heard they offer free ice cream for kids too? We're meeting up with a group of mom's here in a couple weeks for a "mommy and me" lunch date, so I look forward to exploring the menu further. This is the type of place I'd probably frequent if I lived in the area and wasn't just in town for a work conference. I've frequented places like it before, but eventually decided that the luxury, boutique sandwiches you get at restaurants not called Subway aren't something I need on a regular basis. Not that I need Subway either (meh), I just don't permanently need sandwiches in my mouth. That said, the sandwich I got here was good. According to some displays, I might have gotten a free ice cream if I'd dined in, but I was grabbing and going and didn't want to press the subject. I probably would've given a full four stars, except one of the cashiers didn't have the GUTS to ask a big construction-type guy to mask up while waiting for his order. I felt really bad coming in 15 minutes before closing, but I was hungry and just arrived in town due to a three hour delayed flight. They were the only place opened and I was so happy for that. Juliet was so kind, friendly and very helpful and I am great full for that. She helped me get a nice nutritious dinner picked out and packed up to take to my hotel. The Plain Jane has gotten.... Plain :-( I first started going to Jason's Deli in Texas and was beyond excited when they came to IL. The quality was good many years ago, but the prices have gone up which I understand but the quality has gone down. Jason's Deli markets having amazing potatoes. For $11, a potato should be loaded! The Plain Jane used to be the size of two large potatoes and be overflowing with toppings. Today, my potato was about the same size as a grocery store potato and barely had any toppings at all. My husband also got the Texas Spud and felt the same. I'll never be back to fulfill my loaded potato craving. However, I do still appreciate the free ice cream. My son's BLT looked pretty good. My other son got Penne pasta. It was lacking in sauce but he said it tasted good. I hope they take this feedback to heart and try to make those potatoes look like the ones on their instagram from years ago....big difference and we noticed!!!!! read more

The televised menu cannot be read when you enter the restaurant so you are handed plasticized menus that people touch and sneeze on! There is a beautiful salad bar but I saw someone put their finger in the Ranch dressing to taste it. Also, several people picked individual fruits out with their fingers from the fruit salad! The Reuben sandwich was excellent and it is served with chips but they are not crisp because they put them under the hot sandwich. OMG! Get this! I called this place last night and the manager who adores himself and needs to buy a personality told me that the corned beef was very good. And do I drive all the way to get a hot corned beef sandwich with Swiss cheese but what do I get when I arrive? A barely lukewarm salt injected lousy corned beef sandwich with absolutely no taste! Bland! Terrible! But the manager gets the "big bucks" folks while the peons eat his trash food! I paid top dollar for this do called corned beef sandwich and I am grateful for only one thing and that is I didn't waste my money ordering it on Grubhub! I don't normally like doing review but in this ocasión I had to. I ordered from Uber eats. Ordered a chicken salad sandwich, and a fruit cup and a side of potato salad. Ended up paying like $27, when I got my food the sandwich was just half which I ordered a whole sandwich . Then the fruit cup had strawberries, grapes and ONIONS. That fruit was not edible nor sure how that mistake could have been made but they need to be careful and do better. read more

I guess Napervillians like healthy food. The line went about 6 deep outside the store, meaning maybe 30 people to the order-taking cashier. I saw numerous people walk up and turn to go to several other lunch alternatives nearby, so I think that line length is about the critical length. I had a turkey/guacolmole bagel sandwich and blue corn chips for $4.99. It was fresh, healthy, and a good deal. They also have a pretty large outdoor dining area next to the store. If you're a first time visitor, grab a menu while you're in the line going to cashier, because there's no menu board to look at, and you have a lot of options. This place reminds me of the cafe's my folks took me to as a child growing up in the 70s. Browm booth seats and the walls are the same 70s color palette..oranges, browns, yellows. They went into detail to instill a 70s vibe here. Like anywhere though, it's the food that keeps me coming back. JDs food is downright 'simple good'. Sandwiches, soups, salads, desserts..I've tried a good smattering of dishes here and everything has been made fresh and tastes great. The subtle kicker is that most plates are a slice $ under the next guy...so JDs is easier on the wallet. The cherry on top here is just that...free frozen yogurt and toppings. Hear that..free!
