I generally drive to the Glen Ellyn location as I find the service and quality consistent. However, I went inside this location about 5pm today, October 19, and here's my experience: 1. The person who greeted me wiped snot dripping from his nose with his shirt sleeve. 2. There were about four employees milling about doing nothing, with one lady waiting ahead of me at the register to pay for what seemed like a long time. 3. As I waited for my sandwich to be prepped the young woman (with blonde hair) who I assumed was new and a young man (with dark curly hair) guiding her was joshing about. She asked me twice what my toppings were and then she kept asking him how to make the sandwich. The sign was behind her with all of the toppings and the toppings were in front of her. The process was taking far too long. The sign in store says eight-minute wait, I waited more like twenty minutes for a half sandwich and soup. When the young man gave me the soup, it was leaking out of the cup with the lid on. I asked him for another one and he just dumped the soup into another cup. The cup of soup was sitting by the register while they took a long time to prep my sandwich, meaning my soup was not hot when I ate it. Lastly, the young man who was assisting the young woman who filled my soup cup, also rang me up. He used the same gloves that he used to make the sandwich to accept my payment and bag my food and went back to fixing sandwiches. As you can see there were a couple of food safety issues and concerns as well as poor service. I wanted to share my experience because perhaps there was a training issue somewhere along the way. I was in the area so I ordered the Mediterranean Salad that my friend is constantly raving about. It was sooooooooo good! I ordered on the app and it told me when it would be ready. You can call when you get there and have them bring it to your car or you can go in for pickup. They have a spot with some shelves (cubbies) and my bag was right there with my name on it. Today was a soup and sandwich sort of day, so we headed towards Panera but at the last minute opted to drop into Potbelly instead. A good choice, as today was the one day a week that there's a live musician strumming away in a quiet manner. It was nice to have live music with lunch and afterward, I put a dollar in his jar. For lunch, the light turkey sandwich was my choice, with mustard, lettuce and tomato. Nicely toasted, it filled my tummy. Oops, I also had a small cup of the loaded baked potato soup. We ordered a family pack with four meals in July 2021. The website was easy to navigate and to place our order. We picked up the order at the Wheaton location. The staff was polite and responsive. I was impressed with their customer service! The food was ready, as promised, and they were attentive to all details. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and have been back (to a location closer to home). The employees have always been gracious and polite but there was a recent change in management and it has not been for the better. I witnessed her rudely address a customer who brought in a service dog and when the customer asked her to look up the laws that she did not know of she told him "Don't tell me what to do." Needed to grab something fast so came here with a co worker before an event. The guy making the sandwich was extremely friendly and helpful. I like potbellys but dont come often so i never know what to order. Well i told him to make me whatever he thought i would like so it was the chicken, bacon and some cheddar cheese with basically everything on it. Sour cream chips and Perrier Sparkling water. I told him i didnt want it too heavy so he recommended the flat bread and im happy I got that. The cashier guy was the sweetest person and complimented my nails and was super friendly. The customer service here was amazing. I wish I knew the gentleman's name so I can compliment him. I have ordered the same sandwich every time I have been to any Potbelly's - A Wreck with everything (Except avocado) on regular. It's a nice blend of flavors and textures sandwiched between bread that's nice and crunchy. Honestly, I will probably never choose a different sandwich at Potbelly's because it's hard to stray when every Potbelly's get this sandwich done right every time! A shout out to the hot peppers Potbelly's has. It's good stuff and they even sell jars of it! I occasionally get a chocolate shake with my sandwich, but it's an OK shake. They make it quick and it comes with two mini Salerno butter cookie rings, which is a nice touch. But it's still just an OK milkshake. Location specific - Definitely my favorite Potbelly's in the area. Consistently friendly staff, the place is always clean, and parking here is plentiful. Had a dude playing guitar and belting out a tune or two - nice touch, though either the guy sings for nothing or Potbelly takes a huge hit having him sing there. Kind of disappointed that they don't seem to have kettle chips anymore. They carry Zapp's brand now - don't recall that before, though I could be wrong. I love Potbelly! I used to live in a Potbelly-less area and had to drive far away just to get a sandwich. Ridiculous, right? Now I live so close to this one that I feel genuinely excited every time I drive by it. Their sandwiches are probably my favorite and I like that they offer light sandwiches and also wraps. That way you can feel good about your choices. Although, their shakes are equally delicious that you won't save any calories at all. The staff that work here are friendly and efficient and are always happy to customize your sandwich however you'd like. Love me a pot bellies sandwich! It's so easy to get a nice filling vegan sandwich. I get the Mediterranean on white no cheese no artichoke add mushrooms and everything but mayo. Perfect! They have giant pickles you can get as a side too! My only complaint is sometimes they try to charge me extra for mushrooms-not cool I don't get cheese or artichoke it should equal out. I just ordered here for delivery. A kids meal and a choose 2. My meal was fine. However, when I ordered my son's sandwich I asked for it to not be toasted. When we opened it though it was completely burnt. The bread was black. Luckily I had bread at home so I just took the meat and put it on the bread I have. Just placed a 69.00 order. This store gave DoorDash the wrong address. DoorDash delivered the order as directed, but to the wrong address. Our company placed a very large order also today. I asked if he could send them together and he said no, he sent my order to DoorDash. So I know he made the mistake not DoorDash. I called Pottbelly in Wheaton and they said they would void the order and credit our card. No offer to make up for the mistake by sending a new order. There are too many Potbellys around to make the mistake of ordering from this one again. You lost our business and our Company's business. Really poor management. read more

I typically order Potbellies from the downtown Naperville location and I have never had an issue. However, because they closed at 4 today and I was too late to put an order it, I decided to order from the Wheaton location because they were open an hour later. When I bit into my grilled cheese sandwich, it was loaded with chicken. I ordered a grilled cheese. Not once did I indicate that I wanted chicken on my grilled cheese..I don't know if that is even an option. As a vegetarian, I'm already limited to what sandwiches I can get and a grilled cheese from there sounded great today. Unfortunately, by the time I found out it had chicken (this thoroughly grossed me out), it was too late to put in another order from there so I had nothing to eat. While the shop refunded me the sandwich price, I still had to pay delivery as well delivery for Jersey Mikes which I ordered instead. Because someone decided to add chicken to my grilled cheese (I don't know if the person thought this would be funny or they just couldn't read the instructions) this has been quite expensive just to get a sandwich. I will not order from this Potbellies again and I will stick to the one in downtown Naperville. I have never had this issue with that store. read more

Placed a large catering order. None of my instructions were followed including separately bagging the meat and veggie sandwiches. Sandwiches were sloppily made with sauces dripping and some of the wrapper being wet. Sandwiches tasted horrible. Specific instructions about toppings/fillings were not followed. The staff are way too casual referring to customers as "yo", "buddy" and "howdy man". This could be because they are located close to a college (IIT Wheaton), and they think all customers are students. I would think their corporate would have trained them to be more professional, regardless of where the store is located. Complained to the store manager--from his body language, he did not seem to care. Escalated complaint to area manager. Area manager did not even bother to call back or reply to email. So much for customer service. Since I have visited only this location so far, I will give them the benefit of doubt and visit another location to see if there is any difference in customer service. Maybe I should not judge Potbellys by just this one lackluster location. But I will not go to this location again or order from this location again. read more
