I love McAlister's! It's a chain restaurant similar to Panera if you have never been. I like it better than Panera. Pricing is similar or slightly more affordable and there is greater menu variety. They offer sandwiches, salads, soups, and spuds (potatoes). They also have a few side dishes, appetizers, and desserts. I like the choose two option as well. I usually get either the broccoli cheddar soup, a spud, baked potato soup, smoky pepper Jack Turkey sandwich, or the spicy southwest chicken sandwich. Wow my first time having their turkey bacon club sandwich and I am blown away. I order it through door dash. It was with a side of potato salad and it was so good. I wish I had taken a pic of before I dug into the sandwich. Next time. It's a fabulous gourmet club sandwich with real spring greens and a delicious honey mustard dressing. McAlister's Deli is everything you'd want from a lunch spot: tasty food, big portions, pleasant service. It's been years since I've been to a McAlister's and stepping in was a bit of déjà vu. What could have contributed to that was the unmistakable fact that it has a certain Panera feel to it. However, at first bite, you quickly realize that Panera has NOTHING on McAlister's. The ambiance here is relaxed and go-with-the-flow, a really pleasant dining experience. And the staff contributes to that, they are welcoming, attentive, and at your (table) service. The menu is varied and has little things you might not notice if you are not paying attention. Like the fact that you can add flavor to your iced tea or lemonade - bonus! I had the King Club and it was HUGE! Excited that they don't skimp on the portions I dug in and it was delicious. Washing it and my bag of chips down with a (also huge!) peach-flavored Arnold Palmer made for the perfect lunch. Although it's been years I'm glad to see McAlister's is still doing a great job. I had accumulated enough points for 2 plus free entrees but all of my points expired without any inotice! I contacted them via phone and email. They said they could not reissue my points nor could they give me a coupon for a free sandwich or anything. I explained that my mom had been sick so I was away from dining there for a year and I didnt receive any notice my points were expiring. They did nothing, so I handwrote a letter to the CEO--I did NOT receive a response! I have never been treated so poorly by any establishment. Other companies give you a heads up when your points are expiring so you can use them--Starbucks, McDonalds, etc-- not McAlister's Deli. I will not set foot in another one of their restaurants--not after the way I was treated! They and corporate should be ashamed! I attended their grand opening yesterday. This is a brand new location. Only the second one in the area that I am aware of. The set up and size of the interior is nice. Order placing is simple and food preparation is fast. We have been going to the location on Army Trail for years. Ever since they opened. Not sure if this new location is better because its new or just because its better. But it is noticeably better. The amount of ingredients and even the meat is more here. The food is prepared neatly as well. At the other location not so much. The menu is huge with something for everyone. My wife purchased the French Dip. This is her favorite go to item when we are not prepared to order, as we stopped in on a fluke when we saw it was open as passing by. Her sandwich had a lot of meat on it. This is not usual for McAlister's. So hopefully it stays that way. It was so fresh and great tasting! I had the Spicy Turkey Melt. This sandwich was definitely a 10 in my book. Smoked turkey, bacon, pepper jack, avocado, chipotle ranch, spring mix and tomato on toasted baguette. The flavor was overwhelming it was so good! The service was fast, the people were friendly and professional. The place was clean. Only negative is the sun was blinding the patrons. They need to invest in some shades. So I bought something called a tea pass, which entitles you to one tea a day for a month Every time I go in there I ask the worker please can I have a half a cup of ice and then the sweet tea the first time I got like three ice pellets, same with the second and third time the next time he's like, so do you want the ice on the side? What does that even mean on the side? I've never even heard of that so I took my cup with my three ice pellets and went on my way again the next day the same thing, so do you want a separate cup of ice on the side? I'm like no I want you to fill the cup halfway with ice and put the remaining tea in the cup I really don't think this is a hard request ? I went today same thing again no understanding But much to my surprise I got tea with a half a cup of ice but then I got a half a cup of ice on the side and I was like never mind they still don't understand why would I want a half a cup of ice empty that makes no sense at all! I even have the picture to prove it. I've had seven different workers that work there all with the same problem they don't just understand next time I'm gonna tell him give me a full cup of ice and then put the tea in the cup I don't know how hard it is I know they only make probably like minimum wage or whatever, but come on I think even my dog could understand this! read more

Worst location I've ever been to. The front/ cashier guys were more concerned with getting food out to patrons than taking new orders despite having a line 5 parties deep. The back / kitchen area was barking orders but seeing all the orders sent back by customers and people asking for refunds it was obvious there was no true leadership anywhere. I think all in it took me 25 minutes to get a club sandwich and chips. They finally brought my food to me (to go) and totally forgot my tea. That was the icing on the cake. Stopped in today to try this place out for the first time. Signed up for their phone application and was surprised to get a free iced tea right away as a reward! The smell from this container had me salivating on the car ride back to work. Did a half and half combo with the Memphian sandwich on a crossaint and the Chipotle Chicken and Bacon spud. Quality meat on the sandwich but used to the roast beef being a little more rare. Delicious flavorful toppings on the spud but a little bit on the dry side and could have used a bit more sauce. Very pleasant staff at the counter and a very clean atmosphere. Price was about $12 for the combo as they were both premium items. New addition to Wheaton's town square area. McAlister's Deli took over the old Vitamin Shoppe spot. They just opened this past week and I wanted to try it out. Very excited and happy that they are finally bringing in new businesses to this area because I feel like Wheaton's town square has been dead for a while. I wasn't sure if the dine in was open due to COVID, so to play it safe... I googled their website and decided to create an account so I could order online for curb side pickup. I prefer ordering online because you can view their whole menu easily and figure out what you want instead of standing in line physically and having to wait around a bunch of strangers in masks...unless you want to do that! To each their own. McAlister's has a variety of sandwiches, salads, soups, sides and spuds which are potatoes (me being from Hawaii I didn't know lol). They also have family and kid meals along with desserts and drinks. I did their choose 2 option and got a half salad and half sandwich wrap for $10. Not bad for lunch and both were very good. Seemed healthy as well! They quoted me around a 10-15min pick up time from when I ordered and they were on time. I like how quick and efficient they were. The only thing is that I included a pickle with my wrap but it was missing. I'll let it pass because they are new and this was probably their first online/curb side order...? I would do curb side pick up again because so far it seems faster than ordering inside physically. Also, if you create an account online, they automatically give you a reward for a free tea! It is one of my favorite food places and I love to go there it is very good and makes me happy

I have been to another McAlister's Deli which was fine. The one in Wheaton is not. I went with a friend in November of 2023. As we are both seniors. I asked about the pick 2 items on the menu board. I specifically asked if ANY 2 items were 9.99 and was told that was correct, so I was surprised to see at least 2 up charges on the bill. Secondly, we waited over 20 minutes for our food yet the restaurant wasn't that busy. Thirdly, when the food came, I did not get what I ordered. I flagged down an employee who took it back and I waited another 20+ minutes for my order. My friend had finished her meal by then, so we didn't get to eat together, rather we watched each other eat lunch. I did send an email outlining my issues at least twice and the only response I received was to call. Why? After several months is it clear that they do not intend to correct or even care about the situation. Mr. Mason, that is my first and last purchase at your restaurant. read more

Food ordered via app. App stated the food would be ready in 15 min. Arrived on time. Waited an additional 15 min for my order. 5 employees but they were understaffed. Food was sitting on the window sill but noone was processing the food for delivery as they continued to focus on taking orders. Brought my food home only to discover they put the wrong order in my bag. Returned and asked for a refund. No manager on duty and no one with authority to approve the refund. Was told to leave all the evidence and call back when a manager was on duty. Called back first thing the next morning. Still no manager on duty with approval authority. Called back at 4pm. Manager was curt but acknowledged the refund was processed. 28 hours and 6 attempts to contact. Still waiting the 3-5 days to see it on the credit card. read more

I got a box lunch from here during a training class my employer held. While most are excited for the free lunch provided by their work, as a gluten free person it's not so exciting. Different people place the order and they might not be aware of my GF status, so I have to find out who is ordering and let them know. Then there's the alternate lunch which can suck, but not from here! It was sooo good! I had a turkey Cobb sandwich on GF bread, some GF chips and a nice fruit cup. The fruit cup was chocked full of fruit, not just 3 or 4 pieces. While the training could havr been more exciting, at least I had a great lunch. This review is related to the service only. There was no one at the register when I came in and I was standing around for almost 10 minutes before someone came over, no apologies or anything. During that time I was waiting the employees kept making eye contact through the kitchen but just going back to whatever else they were doing and not acknowledging that there was a line and no one there to take orders. Another customer had been waiting a long time for her order and told me good luck when she left. The name of the host on the ticket was just P. Here's a thought for the good people at "Corporate". If you're gonna hire someone to handle calls at your "call center", you may want to make sure they know the menu, or at least know how to read it. My wife and I eat here, or should I say, ate here 2-3 the new a month. The food is spectacular! The dingbats taking the orders are another matter. This is one of our regular go to places. The food is always good but the service isn't great. Last night my husband, daughter and I came in about 7:15. Lots of people there eating. We had to wait to order because a customer in front of us was upset about something with his order and he was very unhappy. No worries that happens. When it came time for us to order I made an extra special point of being extra courteous. I've been in customer service and it's not easy. The employee barely acknowledged me or my family as he took our order. I thought-ok he's still upset about the last guy that's fair. We sat down and within 10 minutes this same employee started putting out the yellow "wet floor signs" in preparation for mopping even though they closed at 9pm. After about 15 more minutes the restaurant had emptied out to just my family. It was still before 8 pm and the guy starts mopping the floor right where our table is. Im like Dude there's literally an entire restaurant and you start mopping right here! I even had to pick up my feet so he would soak my shoes ‍‍ It was obvious he wanted us out of there so now when we stood up to leave the floor was super wet and slippery. Come on, you can wait until a few minutes before you close to do your clean up. Sheesh read more

I was really excited when this location opened! I wish I could say that my excitement was worth it but it was definitely a bad first impression. I did Doordash pick up and got a great deal but when I went to pick up I was given someone else's bag. I noticed the name on the ticket wasn't mine. Cashier was apologetic. Got my actual order, it was missing one of the 3 items. The restaurant was not busy- there was only one other take out order on the shelf and at least 6 employees- so no excuse for that IMO. The real kicker here was my sons grilled cheese sandwich. COMPLETELY INEDIBLE. The cheese was burned and the bread was literally hard as a rock. You might have chipped a tooth attempting to bite it. I ended up throwing it away and making him one myself. Needless to say I'm super disappointed. I will give them another shot to see if they've had a chance to improve. Otherwise will drive the extra miles to Bloomingdale location. read more

This is such a special addition to Wheaton. We have been to other McAlister's before- and this one is really like McAlister's 4.0 The interior is really inviting with bright and contrasting colors. Very welcoming. Nice to see a team of employees so enthusiastic to be there and working so hard to please customers. Had the chance to interact with Melissa and Rashon. They certainly set the bar! Catered a variety of 40 box lunches in for two separate days this weekend for our organization. Normally we use another caterer in the area for our events, but they were unable to accommodate us on a one week notice. McAlister's Deli did and have won our future business. Everyone remarked about the high quality of the ingredients, generous portions and tastiness of the food. They were also happy with the variety of available sides other than just chips. I would say I am a frequent visitor. First time I went I really enjoyed this place. Seemed like a nice environment. Went back a few more times and they kept getting my order wrong. The last 3 times I have gone they have always forgotten to add the lettuce to my sandwich. I was understanding the first time but then it just got old.
