This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I have ever experienced…read more My wife and I stayed here on December 31, 2025 through January 1, 2026 for New Year's Eve. From the moment we checked in, the room had no hot water. We contacted the front desk and were told to let it run. It never got hot. About an hour later, we realized the heat was not working either. We contacted the front desk again and explained that we would be leaving around 6:00 PM for New Year's Eve plans and would not return until after 1:00 AM, giving the hotel over six hours to resolve both issues. Maintenance came by and assured us everything would be fine. It was not. We returned around 1:20 AM, went to sleep, and woke up around 8:00 AM to a freezing room reading 52 degrees. The outside temperature that night was about 12 degrees. There was still no heat and no hot water. We contacted the front desk again and immediately checked out. Despite the room being unlivable and unsafe, management told us they would not issue a refund or credit. No heat. No hot water. No accountability. I am requesting that Hyatt corporate leadership review this stay and contact me directly, as this experience reflects a serious breakdown in service standards, guest safety, and basic hospitality expectations

Parking was free, the staff was welcoming, and the rooms were clean. What stood out to me was how easy it was to move around the area, whether with the complimentary shuttle or just the convenient location. Since the hotel is in Lisle, it feels geared toward corporate travelers during the week, but on the weekends it definitely becomes a spot for wedding guests. I saw multiple groups using the shuttle, which is a huge plus if you need it. Overall, the hotel is great and I would stay here again.

Parking was not bad at the time we arrived but it can get obnoxiously packed. I like the Downers Grove one because they have their own parking lot. We were seated immediately even though it was starting to get busy. They have a lot of seating inside. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. I ordered the stuffed breakfast biscuit and it came with farmhouse potatoes. When you cut into the biscuit, you'll find bacon, scrambled eggs, and cheese. The biscuit itself was soft to cut and I liked the gravy. My cousin ordered the strawberry crepe and my girlfriend ordered the fried green tomato benedict. The portion sizes are enormous, you could make two meals out of this. I would say the prices are fair since they do give you a lot of food. If you find them expensive, Denny's and Ihop are cheaper alternatives. Everything was delicious. I forgot to mention but I recommend getting the strawberry orange juice. You won't regret it.

Although there were umbrellas, the rain was still dripping over the tables, but our server kept a positive attitude even though we weren't able to change our seats to be inside. My dad enjoyed his skillet, and I got a panini, and I'm amazed by the huge portion sizes. The panini was good, with juicy chicken and a delicious subtle apricot spread. The fries are huge as well, and super crispy. Buttermilk's pancakes are probably my favorite pancakes, as they are light, soft, fluffy, and subtly sweet. This was a good spot for a casual brunch with family.

The back has a large parking lot but you have to read the signs. Park in the spots that say 4 hour free parking to be on the safe side. Other than that, we ordered mozzarella sticks, gyro Philly sandwich combo, and pasta arrabiata with gyro meat. To be honest, the mozzarella sticks are not worth $8 because they were too small. However, that gyro meat is one of the best I've ever had. The gyro Philly has beef and lamb gyro. They were perfectly tender and juicy. The French fries are crispy, not soggy, and well seasoned. The pasta was excellent. The food portions were huge. The bueno crepe was also delectable. Big enough to share.

The pizzeria was mostly empty, with customers mainly picking up to-go orders, which made it an easy spot to dine with kids. We ordered a cheese and pepperoni pizza, and three different crepes, and everything came out quickly, piping hot, and very tasty. The portions were generous enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day. The restaurant was clean and well stocked, and the staff was friendly and welcoming--even with our kids creating a bit of chaos. I'd definitely come back to try more of their menu.

That I finally visited this place was part of a very special series of moments. I basically hated high school, (JSMorton East-Cicero, IL) but not for the reasons you might expect. Mostly boring teachers and stultifying curriculum. I couldn't wait to get out of there so I could continue with my education. There were bright spots, though. One was my sophomore English Teacher Gus Jackson. Erudite, witty, respectful, and in tune. He allowed us to be smart-asses in class as long as it was based in dignified wit. And we actually LEARNED SHIT because of him. What a concept! A brilliant man, whom I never forgot. I attempted to keep in touch with him but after a while he was lost in the sea of moving experience like so many bittersweet factions of our lives. Imagine my surprise when he recently appeared in the "meet and greet" line at one of our concerts 53 years after my graduation. To say I was stunned is woefully inadequate. I jumped up, tearfully, sped around the table to give him the warmest embrace of genuine admiration and respect I could muster. I saw in his beguiling smile and expressive eyes he was glad to see me too! He said he saw my name in the local paper in an article about our appearance, and decided to come to the show. We made plans to have breakfast, and Gus selected this place. They could have put Purina Kibble and flat Coke out to eat and drink and I would have been overjoyed, just to sit and reminisce with my old friend. But the food was GREAT. I had a Greek Omelette which was total yum, and the Coffee was superior. And I'm not being kind just because of the reunion. I would have thrown 4 stars for this place in any case. Do eat here, if you can. I often still have occasion to drive past the Morningside, but now I do so with a warm smile, and a memory that will linger...

Our server was great, suggesting that if we ordered an appetizer, one Detroit style pizza would be plenty. And she was right. We had the best cheese curds I've had south of the Wisconsin border. Light breading and excellent taste. I chose the Mt Massive craft brewed IPA and it was very good. Not too fruity or hazy, a solid IPA worthy of a second round. We got the Chi-Town Detroit-style (a lot of Great Lakes attitude there) and it was wonderful! Sauce had great flavor, but the focaccia bread crust was outstanding. Light and buttery, not like a heavy deep dish crust. So good! Highly recommend. Desserts looked awesome, but we were too stuffed. Looking forward to a return visit with friends to try one (or two) of them!

We've been several times and have come to discover that it's a solid place for a burger and beer. But the REAL star for us is the Detroit style pizza. Soft thick crust with crispy cheesy edges and awesome toppings- our fave is the vegetable pizza and this is a SHOCK because my husband is a meat and potatoes guy but this pizza is just so flavorful and good! Also a great kids menu, our boy downs the Mac n cheese (and we get a few nibbles as well- we can't help it it's delish)! Only thing to note is that the don't do reservations and it does get busy at peak meal times, especially on weekends or nice weather nights.
