This is one of my many breakfast/brunch place in my area that I go to. It's a family owned business and they've been around here for over 20 years. They have their own private parking spot and you can see it along the major roads. When you walk in you see a glass of their display of yummy looking desserts. You wait until you are seated. I like the fact, they have a lot of booth tables and they can also accommodate larger parties by connecting tables together. This place is more like a family establishment not a hipster trendy place. It has a homey comfort feel to it.. I've never had any issues with their staff. They've been always friendly and attentive when serving us. Because there are times when you have a bad day and it's nice to hear and see a friendly person human contact. I like the fact that our water and coffee was always filled. The order of you food is pretty quick. We typically order the vegetarian omelette and some other omelettes depending how we feel. The size of your plate is pretty big that you can literally bring leftovers or you can share. My favorite here is the creamy rice chicken soup. I like their country fried steak as well good amount of breakfast sausage gravy. Today we ordered a lot of sides to share, I think it's a better deal if you order each a meal and share this way. It did add up more than we wanted to spend and lots of plate on the table, lessons learned! I like cottage cheese and peaches. Cottage cheese was cold and they give a good serving size. However, I was not a fan of their peaches. It looked like chopped peaches in syrup like you would use in a filling for a peach pie or a topping for ice cream. I prefer canned slices or half sliced peaches myself. I wouldn't get this again. I would only get the cottage cheese only. We also ordered a Side of bacon, you get 3 thick pieces. I prefer thinner sliced bacon that I can have it extra crispy with a crunch. We ended up getting pork sausage links, which is nice you get 3 pieces versus the patty. You'll only get two pieces. Their corn beef with hash is out of can type which I like, and I like it extra crispy when I requested it. Their egg omelettes are pretty big in size. I usually get the vegetarian one we ended up having to bring half of it back home lol! I like their side of fresh cut fruit. It must be in season because every piece were sweet even the grapes. My mom tried the mimosa and she liked it a lot. She drank it all with no problem. I had their coffee latte with unsweetened vanilla syrup and extra cream. It was very good. I would get it again. Overall, it's a nice place that I would go for breakfast. I'm sure there afternoon evening dishes that are pretty good as well as I do see people ordering those. When you walk in, you're greeted by very nice people that are usually always there. The service is always fast and the place is always clean. The food here is very consistent. It is always delicious. The best thing to ever get there is there a cream of chicken rice which I always get some to go. The skirt steak was delicious and cooked perfect and seasoned well. Their eggs here are some of the best eggs I've ever had and are super fluffy and light and airy. Hashbrowns are normal average because you can't really screw them up and I like them crispy so I got them crispy. read more

The food here was a typical greasy spoon, the portions were large. I had the French onion soup to start and had lots of onions lots of onions. The Tommie could tell him just been a piece of bread that they said, and never toasted or dried , the breaded tenderloin and it was average tasted good but not outstanding. The service was excellent. My waitress did above and beyond. I would recommend this place if you're looking for home cooking with a slight twist. read more

They have a nice selection on their menu. We ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich and a Reuben sandwich. We inquired whether the Reuben sandwich bread would be soggy or wet. The waitress informed us it would not and it wasn't. I did not think to ask whether the Monte Cristo sandwich would be soggy because I was thinking of the Monte Cristo sandwiches Bennigan used to have which were deep-fried. My sandwich bread was definitely wet and soggy, which spoiled the sandwich. The sweet potato fries were good, although they did not look like the picture we saw. Ours were thicker than the slim sweet potato fries displayed. But they were nice and crispy. Our server was kind, friendly and helpful. The service was prompt. My sister and I met a coworker for breakfast at Simon's a few days ago because I figured there'd be something on the menu for us all. Plus, old-school diners are usually a safe bet. We walked in and were greeted immediately by a pleasant gentleman who also seated us. My coworker and I both ordered cream of chicken rice soup, which we enjoyed. It was a little watery, but otherwise tasty. I also ordered a grilled cheese and ham sandwich. I assumed the ham would be bone-in, but it wasn't. It was something in between bone-in ham and deli ham. The ham was greasy and not very good. I removed it from the sandwich and tried to eat the grilled cheese, but I couldn't because the bread was too soggy. I took a few bites and pushed the food aside. The waitress assumed that I wasn't hungry and brought me a to-go container. LOL I took the food with me but didn't eat it. It went in the trash out by the garage before I even went into the house. My sister ordered toast and corned beef hash. She enjoyed it and said she would order it again. The restaurant was bright, clean, and comfortable. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Currently on a family trip taking my folks up to see their grandkids play baseball in Lombard. Coming back to the hotel we spotted the restaurant and thought it'd be a great spot to eat. This morning we were promptly sat and greatly warmly by our server Juan. The experience was exceptional. Service was great and the food was spectacular! I really enjoyed the Gravy Biscuit Benedict. All the food was delicious and hot. I tried my mom's French toast. It was excellent. My dad enjoyed a Sausage and Cheese omelette. You have to love when the owner responds like this. I wasn't dining with my friend I was dining with my husband so unless he's talking about another table. On top of that never did I mention that I wanted my food to be put up in a heat lamp I worked in the food industry as a server, as an expeditor, and in the kitchen. I especially work at fine dining and I get it this isn't fine dining completely understand it the equivalent of going to Denny's so I shouldn't expect much. But when we only took a small bite of the chicken Limon and I did finish my fish tacos even though they were a little bit too burnt from my liking. We send it back as quickly as we coould but our server decided not to follow a common rule of serving which is 2 minutes 2 bites. It means checking up on guests in the first 2 min or 2 bites to see if food quality was meet to their expectation and if not i should be fixed immediately. We were never offered a way to fix it by a server and when we tried going up front we're really ignored well the owner was talking to a lady when they got done talking he immediately stuck out his hand for our card and went to talk to the other person and told them to come up so he can take care of him over there and had a conversation with them so there was no point in talking to him because my time was sensitive that day and I just paid for everything even though our server told us I'm not going to charge you for the soda and the iced tea which both of them are priced around $6 together and our chicken limone priced at $18 on top of that I was the one that finished up my husband's soup and I ate my soup and all he had was a little corner of the chicken when we were trying to return it back and say we didn't care for it so it was in boxed up. So it's nice to know that not only was a server lying about the whole situation but at the same time the owner has no idea what happened or if you knew what happened he just didn't care about it goes to show you how hospitable this place is when given a little bit of feedback. I can get a better solution or actual hospitality from a Denny's or an IHOP then this place read more

This used to be a really good Greek family restaurant. Not anymore! On my most recent visit I ordered the Greek chicken kabobs. They came out with a skewer of vegetable that had been destroyed on the grill, burned up mushrooms and a mush of peppers and onions. The chicken was five or six big rubbery lumps on a skewer. No grill marks, no herbs, just funky looking lumps of chicken on a bed of rice. The whole plate was swimming in mystery juice that has never been served to me before today. Back that up with some wilted lettuce and a pale looking pita. Disgusting! Needless to say that I didn't eat this slop. The waitress never returned to check if everything was good, so I made due with my wife's side of pancakes (yummy pancakes!). The waitress took the 18$ chicken kabobs off the bill, but then charged me around 7$ for a dinner salad. What a joke! Overall great experience, and the waitress was super nice. Our group got seated right away and offer menus. Lots of items to choose from and the coffee was nice and hot. Lots of full tables and establishment was clean. I had the BLT sandwich with fries and a chicken noodle soup. The bread was nice and toasted, bacon was crisp, lettuce was perfect, and the tomato was just right. The chicken noodle soup was hot, and they give you saltine crackers to go with it. I have found a great spot for Sunday brunch in the Villa Park / Oak Brook / Lombard area with the family! A crowded place with good food and fast service is always a winner. The staff is always nice too. Omelets and pancakes are a perfect combo, and the soft serve ice cream at the end is such a fun touch! I've tried all of the omelets and they are all great! I normally do not have any serious complaints about this place the Chicken rice Soup is really good and the service is Friendly. But I ordered a Pork chop Dinner online to go. It may as well have been a Hockey Puck! It was so overcooked and dry as a bone. The sides (Mixed Vegetables) tasted like they came out of a Can. For the price I paid for that dinner I expected much better. Train your Cooks!. I got the Hobo skillet which is a skillet full of hashbrowns, topped with blended melted cheese, onions and 2 eggs (any style) with toast, butter and jelly on the side. And honestly for $10.50 this hit the spot! Our waitress was really nice, didn't have much of a wait time and the food was good! Even if it's a weekend, you're service is quick and the staff makes sure customer service is top priority, along with quality of food. The prices are very reasonable and the positions are large, so bring an empty belly. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can get a nice cup of soup, or some delicious eggs. Went here for lunch one day with son. We had the cold trio salad special (tuna, pasta and egg salad), a wrap sandwich and crepes. Service was really good. We loved our waitress. We were also seated right away and the restaurant had a noise level that allowed good conservation. The chicken rice soup was fantastic. However, the rest of the meal was good, but nothing special and not inexpensive. I didn't care for the pasta salad on my plate, it had a bit too much peppery flavor. The egg salad was ok, but nothing special and I thought the tuna was a bit overly mayo flavored. The wrap was good, but again nothing special. Fries were thin and crispy, really good. The crepes had no filling in them at all, all of the flavor was on top of the crepes, which was disappointing. This place is worth the visit just for the chicken cream rice soup!!! They somehow infused the creamy broth with a very concentrated, flavorful chicken flavor. So delicious and rich. I ordered the Reuben sandwich which was also very tasty. I appreciate the unlimited refills of coffee. The restaurant has seating both indoors and outdoors. We hadn't been back here since the pandemic and decided to give it a try. We went for dinner and had Gyros Platter (good), Roast Tom Turkey (good) and Ham & Swiss Croissant (sub-standard). Ham & Swiss , you really needed to look to see if there was any cheese at all; I didn't know you could slice it so thin! The prices are all averaging around $15 for simple items like sandwiches. Simon's used to bring a small loaf of fresh bread - Gone - now you get one roll per person (no variety). They do still give you a small cup of ice cream at the end, that's a Plus. Service was fine. Overall, nothing very positive and I can think of a number of places I would prefer instead. We won't be back. read more

Went there today with my brother who was in town from AZ and I'm embarrassed that I brought him here. I ordered the liver and onions dinner. The liver was good. The potatoes were considerably undercooked, unable to cut a half inch slice of potato with the side of my fork. The mixed vegetables were off-color and complete mush (boiled, canned?) I ate 1/2 of the liver while waiting for the server to come check in or ask why the potatoes had been pushed to the side (outer edge of the table.) The wait person passed by the table at least twice without stopping. I would have been happy if she had stopped by and offered to replace the potatoes. When I went to pay for my food the man at the register argued that the potatoes were properly cooked. I cannot recommend this restaurant. read more

Visited today after years of having eaten here regularly. Not a lot of changes in the restaurant. Everything looks the same fresh and clean. Coffee cup be a third smaller than they used to be, and the coffee appeared to be made by machine rather than brewed. Had to ask for a refill - 3.49?! More than Starbucks and tasted watery. We went to Simon's on Saturday at 8:30pm for dinner after being at the hospital with our mom. The hostess did not tell us that they were out of cream of chicken soup for the night. Our server was absolutely terrible, never coming to our table and making it seem like serving us was an inconvenience. Last, he told us we could get French onion soup instead, and then upcharged us for it. Altogether, our food was not good, the service was awful, and our bill was very high for what we got. My typical experience here is when i wake up late and missed the typical restaurants hours, out here in the burbs. Today I tried dinner. First I' ll tell you about establishment. The servers here are very pleasant and the reataurant is comfortable and clean. They are fllanked by a couple motels on the corner of Summit and Roosevelt rd. Plenty of parking and sometimes the front section of parking can be full. My breakfast experience - Servers keep the coffee cup filled and the coffee is fresh. The coffee doesnt seem to be premium bean, but its ok. I ordered eggs, bacon, hash browns. I didnt care for the bacon much because it tasted like cheap bacon. The hash browns were plentiful but not very browned and had no real taste. Dinner- I ordered the turkey dinner. The plate came with a generous portion of mashed potatoes and the stuffing and turkey was ok. The gravy was a yellow.. almost neon. It didn't taste bad but it was an unusual color. No bread was served. The mixed vegetable tasted terrible. My impression was that it was canned or from frozen bag....imo, it had an unpleasant taste tha5 black pepper and salt didnt help.. Also, I'd like to mention that the fountain sprite had an odd, old taste.. the lines probably need cleaning. Minor Drama- if you order a dinner that includes soup or salad, you should know that the french onion soup is approx 2.50. extra. My server did not tell me. She recited the soups of the day that came with my dinner, and included the french onion soup. At other restaurants I've gotten french onion soup with my dinners and I get a cup size and thats included. It ocurred to me that i should double chk when she comes with soup. Thats whn i found out it was extra and she came with a full bowl sizel serving, not cup. I told her i hadnt expected it to be extra and she had not told me it would be. My server then told me the upcharge for french onion soup with dinner was on the menu. Tricky. I then told her i didnt want it then. She said she would tell the manager to take it off. She told me to go ahead and keep it anyway since they would throw it out. After she walked away i tasted the soup and foud that it tasted different from the French onion soups i had ever had before. It tasted of oregano. I didnt care for it and pushed it aside. The restaurant manager appeared and she told me the up charge on the onion soup was on the menu. I told her that the waitress recited the soups i could have with my dinner snd never mentioned upcharge.. i did not notice that on the menu because honestly all I looked at was the dinner price. The manager went on to tell me, 2 more times the upcharge was on the menu I told her i didnt want to spend more. She finally did take upcharge off this one time and told me 2xs that i should remember the next time, onion soup is extra. Honestly, I wont return there for any more dinners and my breakfast visits have always been limited anyway. I gave it a shot but this place isn't for me. read more
