Was in the area and wanted some comfort food. Hi-View staff were very friendly and helpful in getting me a meal that was very delicious. I had the liver dinner and my guest had the turkey dinner. Both meals came with soups and the bread basket. Give this place a try, you will not regret it !

First time trying this place out and I'm glad I did ! They have many options for choose from with a full breakfast and lunch/dinner menu available. We tried the parm sandwich and a burger both with the most delicious cream of chicken soup which I would definitely recommend! Give them a try whenever you're in town!

It was very delicious, with a nice atmosphere and very good service. I thought the food was tasty if a little bland, but the good portions and prices certainly made up for it. I'd recommend stoping by if you're in the area, but maybe stay away from the breakfast menu, it is a little inconsistent

I felt like I stepped back in time, in all the best ways. Back to when the prices were reasonable and a family was behind the feel of a restaurant. Gotta love that old school diner vibe, a menu with so many things to pick from. Friendly staff that was fun and interactive with us and the people around us. The desserts all looked amazing inside the case. Steaks were cooked perfect and I'll definitely be back to try more off the menu.

I had laughs with Jessica this evening Crazy that I grew up there. Nick is the original owner. His son and everyone there were so kind to my dad. Ha

    Love the fried chicken meal.

Always a good value. Food is solid. Service is friendly. Pretty much everything you want in a local diner.

This morning we were promptly sat and greatly warmly by our server Juan. The experience was exceptional. Service was great and the food was spectacular! I really enjoyed the Gravy Biscuit Benedict. All the food was delicious and hot. I tried my mom's French toast. It was excellent. My dad enjoyed a Sausage and Cheese omelette. I'd highly recommend eating there if you're in the Villa Park or Lombard area! The restaurant was clean and safe. The atmosphere was great and friendly for everyone including families. Thank you! The waitress informed us it would not and it wasn't. I did not think to ask whether the Monte Cristo sandwich would be soggy because I was thinking of the Monte Cristo sandwiches Bennigan used to have which were deep-fried. My sandwich bread was definitely wet and soggy, which spoiled the sandwich. The sweet potato fries were good, although they did not look like the picture we saw. Ours were thicker than the slim sweet potato fries displayed. But they were nice and crispy. Our server was kind, friendly and helpful. The service was prompt. The only disappointment was the condition of the bread on the Monte Cristo.

The service was impeccable from the initial welcome to the thank you as leaving we felt at home and cared for very well. We ordered off of the Lilys special menu for the holidays - a Cuban sandwich, breakfast burrito with chorizo and chilaquiles con Rojas with chicken, avocado and scrambled egg. Every bite was tasty and beautifully presented. The chilaquiles sauce was flavorful with a bit of spice, tortilla were crispy, the eggs perfectly cooked. This dish could easily serve two hungry people so a box was needed for take out which were promptly gobbled up by family who slept in. If you are in the area do yourself a favor and stop by Lily's Cafe! Bring a big appetite.

My husband is a human garbage disposal (rude, but true). He is happy to eat here. I really hate this place. They are overpriced, very overcrowded (on any day of the week, however do not even attempt to get a table on the weekend). If you decide to come anyway, know that they provide no seating for waiting customers. This dump is standing room only. They have (kind of, to be generous) a couple of options for vegans. Their hashbrowns are made with canola oil, and by default only, they are vegan. They serve a very bad fruit cup at a very high price. If you bring your own vegan butter, their toast and English muffin are options as well. Vegetarians do well at any breakfast diner. There are no Celiac/gluten-free options that are marked, however to my limited knowledge eggs and hashbrowns are safe (minus toast) I really try to do my best and include everyone of every dietary choice/need in my reviews.

When we walked in, we were taken by the modern and well-maintained decor- and we were seated within 45 seconds- not too bad. The menu contained all the traditional, expected accoutrements of an American pancake house - with a readable menu "not" written in a size 8 font (yay!). We quickly ordered fresh-squeezed OJ (pricey, but good), and I ordered an American breakfast that consisted of 3 eggs (at least), lotsa taters, 3 pcs of sausage, and rye toast. Hubby ordered the Avocado Toast - a dish we relocated SoCal folks love. The food came at - literally- a warm (but not hot) temp- the Avocado Toast was yummy and very generous (the flavor was really good- and the avocado was totally fresh- nice!). My American breakfast was HUGE. And yup- it was good. We looked at each other and wondered why it took us SO LONG to drive down here? Probably as it's not super close to us, maybe? Damn. We'll be back.
