Very nice and pleasant place to visit since we dropped in by accident and we are at the trails nearby. The people were kind and friendly. The food was nice since it had a lighter fresh taste. Great to see that the washrooms and the place were clean. If we ever pass by the place, we will try it again. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a light and yet healthier meal. There is a good variety that should suit almost anyone.

Citrus is a STAPLE to this area - I go here for breakfast everytime I'm in town... everyday. I love it THAT MUCH. The service is UNBEATABLE, they take care of your EVERY NEED, they pay attention to details, get your order right and see to it you have all the little extras. The QUALITY INGREDIENTS are TOP NOTCH and FRESH, DELICIOUS - you really just cannot go wrong with ANYTHING ON THIS MENU. I just wish they'd bring back the FULL MONTE sandwhich, but they still make it for me when l ask, so honestly, they are UTTER PERFECTION!! Love you guys, dont ever change! I mean, you can change names again, l'll stick by you. The diner ambiance is very melting pot, you never know what friends you're going to run into while you're here! Everything on the menu is AMAZING - personal favorites are Strawberry Mango OJ, Pecan Banana Waffle, and Flavored Coffee of the Day!

We have been coming to the Citrus diner for a while now. We know we'll always get an affordable and tasty breakfast served by friendly people with a smile. However, I am most impressed by the cleanliness and the attention to detail here. You won't find dust on the lamps or lamp cables over the tables. The condiment trays are always full and consistently organized. This place really pays attention to the small things and this gives me the confidence that the kitchen here must be just as clean. Try the tortilla soup and the Bananarama pancakes. If you're lucky enough to come when chili is on special, don't miss it!

I had Queen Sofia Frittata, so delicious!

We had simple eggs with well done sausage for me and delicious corned beef hash for my husband. Two nicely toasted, large pieces of toast and a generous size orange juice completed our meal. We live quite a bit aways and this was our second, happy visit- we definitely will be back!

You could drive right by thinking it was a vacant building except for all the cars in the lot. The notion of vacant building is dispelled immediately upon entry. The place is busy, loud, vibrant with customers clearly enjoying the food and experience. The interior is decorated simply, with muted colors, is well lit, and clean. There are a lot of hard surfaces which makes the ambient noise level fairly high; however, it did not detract from the experience (but just be advised in case you feel this is bothersome). We were greeted warmly and though the place was packed, we were seated quickly. Despite the diner-like vibe, there is no counter, just tables and booths. Our server was prompt, very pleasant, and efficient. The coffee was hot and flavorful. The food: Large portions, well prepared, warm, savory, satisfying. The loaded Cheers omelette, with hash browns and pancakes, was more food than I could enjoy in one sitting so I have leftovers for tomorrow. Prices are in line with more reasonably priced independent eateries. A two-egg, hash browns, pancake combo is $14. This place will be an option in the future.

For drinks, we started with the Tangerine Dream, which reminded me of an orange creamsicle, and the Morning Meditation, which definitely had more earthy flavors. Both drinks were really pretty in color and nicely presented. For food, we ordered the Million Dollar Bacon--it's a very specific flavor, but not bad at all. The brown sugar sweetness with a bit of spice worked well together. The Elevated Egg Sandwich was really good; the buns were soft, the avocado was well-seasoned, and the bacon was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were seasoned nicely, and the onions added extra flavor. The Smoked Salmon Frittata was okay--not my favorite. The potatoes were great, but the salmon didn't really pair well with the eggs in my opinion. We also got the chocolate chip pancakes to go, and those were delicious later on--super big and very satisfying. Our waiter was attentive throughout the meal, which made the experience even better. Overall, a solid spot with great drinks and some standout dishes.

Even though it was busy on a Friday night, our table felt secluded and no one rushed us. It's hidden away in one of the enormous malls in the western suburbs of Chicago. We went last Saturday morning and it was standing room only with a line to the coffee bar, then we loved it enough to come back for breakfast the next day. That should tell you most of what you need to know. The lemon burst cookie is the reason to walk in the door and a reason to come back. Delectable, plenty of lemon, plenty of tart, and it goes down dangerously fast. We ordered it twice across two visits and would have gone for a third. The lavender honey latte was very good, just the right amount of lavender, not too sweet. The regular coffee was solid, and they let me do a half-and-half decaf without blinking. Sunday breakfast was straightforward, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, a Virgin Bloody Mary, and all of it was well executed. The menu is ample enough that you could come back several times and not repeat yourself. The decor is modern chic, the seating has a relaxed couch-and-lounge feel, and the music including Rolling Stones, Duran Duran, Van Halen, etc, was the kind of 80s pop-rock playlist that makes a Saturday morning feel like it has a soundtrack. Not too loud, just right. The restrooms were really nice and accessible. The crowd was a genuine mix, families with kids, older couples, and young "elite", the kind of clientele that parks Maseratis and Ferraris out front but doesn't need the prices to match, because they don't. The menu is moderate for Oak Brook, which is a pleasant surprise. Wait staff were excellent, friendly, accommodating, attentive. This works for a casual coffee run, a family breakfast, or a special occasion with reservations. If Beatrix were a TV character, it would be Lorelai Gilmore, fast, charming, effortlessly good at three things at once, we get it Lorelai, you're over caffeinated. 4.4 Stars The honest gripe: we felt a little rushed. Breakfast came and went in forty minutes, the waitress was ready to move us on in 30 minutes, but we pumped the brakes and asked for our second lemon burst cookie of the weekend, and it would've been nice to get the signal that we could linger. My sense is they're popular enough that turning tables is the priority, and I get it, Lorelai has a business to run, but it's the one thing that kept a great morning from being a perfect one. What would push it to five stars: let us sit with our coffee a little longer. We came back two days in a row, we clearly want to be here. Just let us stay.

The homemade salsa was also just alright; some pico de gallo and a little sriracha would've added the extra flavor it needed. We also had the Senior Special VIP, and everything on that plate tasted very good. The HB chicken club wrap was another standout--really flavorful and well put together. It came with a side of fruit that didn't look the best, but the wrap itself made up for it. For drinks, we had water, tomato juice, and an iced vanilla latte. The latte had way too much vanilla and was overly sweet for my taste. Service was great--our waiter was attentive, the restaurant was clean, and the food came out quickly. I'd come back to try their French toast next time.

I seriously haven't had a sandwich taste this good in a long time--a truly smart choice. I was curious, so I asked the waitress about it. She confirmed there was no special sauce, just mayo. She said the magic might be in their "brown berry multi-grain" bread. Whatever the secret is, I am thrilled with the taste and highly recommend trying this sandwich. The kindness and attentiveness of our waitress made the experience warm and welcoming, and it's the main reason I'll be rushing back soon.
