However, the taste/flavors of the sauces and slaw were good, which is why I am writing this review for this specific location only. The girl at the cash register was also nice. The taste of the vinegar and mustard always leave me salivating. The mustard helps to clear your nose, so be careful not too put too much at once! The noodles are uber chewy, so make sure to take up their offer of cutting the noodles before you eat. The kimchi here is so good they actually sell the kimchi to take home and enjoy. Despite giving both red and white kimchi while dining in person, the white kimchi will always be my favorite. The white kimchi is not spicy, but still has the hallmark vinegar taste with the crunch I've come to expect. This place is very generous with the kimchi- don't be afraid to ask for another small plate of kimchi! This place has a modern vibe, with the beige and white tones. The tables themselves are equipped with a pull-out drawer than includes spoons, chopsticks, and napkins. This allows for quick efficiency when getting seated! Definitely a go-to in sunny Southern California!

I got the green chlorella noodles, which was definitely something different for me. The noodles were really tender and good, and I liked all the toppings that came with them. Everything tasted fresh and the banchan was good too. I think I realized that cold noodles just aren't necessarily my go-to. That's more of a personal preference though, because the food itself was good. If you already like Korean cold noodles, I think you'd really enjoy this place. Glad I tried something new. 7/10

Food: We ordered the Galbi-Tang and Sul-Long-Tang, and our food came out pretty quickly. Both soups were really flavorful and comforting, and the broth was definitely the most memorable part of the meal. The banchan on the side was a little weaker compared to some other Korean spots I've been to, but the soups more than made up for it. Parking: They have their own parking lot, which made parking easy when we visited. I really enjoyed the food here and would definitely come back, especially when I'm craving a comforting bowl of soup.

You come here for Korean comfort food, metal dishes of banchan, enormous bowls of soup and stone pots hot enough to continue cooking your dinner while you eat it. And that stone pot is where I'd start. The gondre dolsot bibimbap was fantastic. Gondre is Korean thistle and here it gets worked through the rice with the egg, seaweed and everything else until the whole thing becomes earthy, savory and deeply satisfying. But the best part comes underneath. Leave it alone long enough and the rice against the stone develops that beautiful scorched crust, nurungji, which you eventually scrape loose and mix back through everything. That combination of the greens, sesame, egg and crispy rice is ridiculously good. There are dishes you finish because you're hungry and dishes where you keep digging around the bottom of the bowl because you're convinced there must be another good piece hiding somewhere. This was the latter. The galbitang was more complicated for me. The beef itself was excellent. Generous pieces, tender, falling easily from the bone and soft enough that our kids loved it. Plenty of green onion, too. My issue was the broth. I prefer galbitang on the restrained side so I can decide where it goes from there. Same reason I like seolleongtang arriving almost defiantly plain, give me the broth and let me dress it up myself with salt, saeujeot or whatever else I want. Han Yang has already made those decisions for you. The galbitang broth was noticeably sweet and salty and eventually it became a little much for me. That's preference as much as criticism, plenty of people will probably love it exactly as it arrives. I just wanted the volume turned down. The banchan was similarly mixed but mostly good. The napa kimchi was solid and nicely balanced. The kkakdugi was particularly good. The mustard greens, however, were ferociously sour. I like fermented food. These had me physically wincing. The dipping sauce for the galbi was excellent, though and I kept going back to it. Rice was average and a little dry. It did its job. Service was good and the whole experience was easy. The room itself has some age on it, tables are fairly close together and depending on where you're seated you may find yourself with a commanding view of the bathroom door. Nobody has ever requested the chef's table at the restroom, but here we are. Somehow I don't particularly mind any of it. Han Yang feels like a restaurant that knows what it is. It isn't polished into anonymity. People are here eating giant bowls of soup, mixing rice in scorching stone pots and getting on with their lives. And when a restaurant can put something as good as that gondre bibimbap in front of me, I can forgive a dry bowl of rice and a bathroom with excellent sightlines. Absolutely coming back. And next time, I'm getting that bibimbap again.

After you order, they give you a variety of sides to complement the meal which is great to snack on while waiting for the meal. If you have a bigger group, the kalbijjim is perfect to share as it is huge and comes with a lot of braised short rib, veggies, and noodles that have soaked up the sauce. The short rib is so tender and is very rich in flavor. The naengmyeon is cool and refreshing especially on a hot day. The lunch price is hard to beat, what a value for $30 per person. The quality of the meat is top notch for the price. That's why they emphasize its Premium AYCE. Kimchi stew was nice and spicy, and steamed egg was perfectly cooked. There were a lot of banchan dishes and there were free refills. Salad is on the side to balance out the meat. A lot of people celebrate their birthdays at the restaurant, they put a candle on then complimentary ice cream everyone gets and you can choose a song to play as they bring out the dessert. It was 95°F outside, and the dining room at Mr BBQ was unbearably hot. There was a sign in the waiting area mentioning the AC issue, but the waiting area was significantly cooler than the actual dining room, making it difficult to judge from the entrance just how uncomfortable it would be once seated. We were told the AC was running but that the ventilation from the grills was making the dining room hot. Regardless of the cause, we spent the entire meal sweating and feeling sick from the heat. When we finally walked outside, the 95°F outdoor air actually felt cooler than the dining room. They provided handheld fans, which was a nice gesture in theory, but the fans were visibly filthy and covered in food splatters. The bathrooms were also extremely dirty, with a sign mentioning plumbing issues. Plumbing problems don't excuse poor cleanliness. I understand that equipment issues happen, but this felt like a situation where the restaurant chose to keep operating rather than prioritize the comfort and cleanliness of its guests. For a restaurant charging what it does, that's disappointing. I will not be returning.

Ordered Combo C- with pork & Kim chee stew as our stew choice. Banchan of: Kimchee (very good, not too spicey, garlicky full of umami), bread & butter type pickle slices, cabbage & red pickled beet combo, mustard green(?), and pickled white radish/daikon. Interesting unexpected banchan. Staff sets up and cooks/cuts the meat for you. Much like Mo Rak Do up the street does. Combo C has a variety of pork pieces. Excited to try pork jowl for the first time. Ample portions. All fresh with the added bonus of aging sticker info for the pork belly. All the meats were VERY good. The belly had a nice distribution of fat to meat ratio. The jowl had high fat content with a slightly firmer bite to it. Great choice. We selected the pork & kimchee stew. Also very good. A side thinly sliced green onion salad also served. The dipping ingredients: course sea salt, wasabi, sweetened shoyu with garlic/green onion bits, & a samjang mixture. All very tasty. Course salt is a nice upgrade. Beautifully presented. Plenty of staff to attend to your table. Menu also has add'l meats to add for a larger group (table of 6 to our right). Honestly I was glad it was my female cousin & I. Too much competition to grab our meat portions if the 2 piglets had to share. A definite return in the near future. Yes, these aren't all you can eat prices. Because it's above AYCE quality meats. This place is a winner all around for service, food quality, adequate venting, parking isn't bad (strip mall). One thing noticed. I never did get my one bowl of rice. Gotta have meat & rice right? Well...miss piggy didn't miss it.

What brings the experience to another level is their pickled vegetables, kimchi, and scallion salad, which brings acidity to balance out the fatty pork. Then you also have some nice seasonings (soybean paste, wasabi, salt, and seasoned soy) to give some other flavor variations to the meat. We asked for a side of rice, which was perfectly steamed. There can definitely be a wait during busier/peak times, but my most recent visit on a random Tuesday night was easy, we were seated right away! My friend and I both got the regular (10) Flat Iron "Mokkoji Cut" in Spicy Pork Broth, which is my absolute favorite. It is a bit on the pricier side, especially considering it's not AYCE like most shabu spots. Their prices have gone up recently, and they also charge extra for different broth flavors. That being said, I think the meat quality is unbeatable, and their broth is one of the best I've had. Do I wish the servings came with more mushrooms and udon noodles? Absolutely! But regardless, this will always be a staple shabu spot for me! The ambiance is casual, and the entire space, including the bathroom, is clean and well-maintained. Service has also been consistently good. No matter how busy they are, they always make it a point to check in and make sure everything is good, which I really appreciate. The food came out promptly which was great but too bad I had no utensils to eat it with. I had asked for a set of chopsticks twice and each server said okay and then disappeared. After another ten minutes of just watching my broth bubble, I finally got up and walked to a different table and grabbed a pair of chopsticks on my own. Nobody ever came back to give me the ones I had asked for earlier. Ordered sukiyaki and the server asked if I wanted the usual egg that comes with it. That's the best part of sukiyaki so of course I said yes. Again, after much waiting, I flagged down two different people to ask for that egg and hot drops. There were a total of three servers that I saw "working" and three tables dining in. Saw some reviews prior to my visit saying something about how everyone's just in the back hanging out. I guess I get it now. I'd be pretty forgiving if it were closer to closing time and I was a part of those annoying parties that came in during the last half hour of the closing shift...but it wasn't even 6pm yet.
