This is the second time for me in this restaurant. This second visit is post Covid. One thing that I noticed is that the price went sky rocket high. It is higher than downtown hotel level. Is the dish / presentation/ experience the same?!

Walked in for my birthday week celebration with girlfriends and the place was packed . Screens for social distancing and sanitizer for cleaning was offered . The view is amazing and the food is delicious. We couldn't try a lot of things on the menu as we had stuffed ourselves with ice cream already. Had Cesar salad and salmon flatbread . Both were delicious. I may dream about that flaky flatbread topped with pesto and the delicate salmon on top. Oh my that was smashing! We also had some beers and the total was around 75$. So worth the visit for friendly staff , delicious food and million dollar view!

A group of us dropped into Five for some oysters. Five offers a covered outdoor seating area than can be utilized in the sunshine or rain. Indoors is aesthetically pleasing. Our group sat in the lounge area during our visit. Visa and MasterCard are accepted forms of payment. I had a Fat Tug IPA for $7.95 and my daughter had a Jolly Rancher for $7.50 while we looked over the menu. My daughter opted for the Fresh Shucked Oysters for $3.25 each. She ordered one of each oyster showcased for the day. The condiments, fresh grated horseradish and tobiko were all excellent. My daughter loved her oysters; however she states that the PNW still has the best oysters. I ordered the Oyster Rockefeller (qty 4) for $19: blue cheese, cream sauce, garlic, shallots and spinach. Luscious and rich. Oysters take some time to shuck so be patient with the staff. Staff members were friendly and extremely helpful. Tabs were easily and accurately split.

The atmosphere at the Five is warm and has a beachfront vibe. The restaurant is mainly seafood-based but also has a variety of Italian and Middle Eastern food flair. The drinks are tasty, too! Their happy hour ranges from $8 sangrias and $6 lagers and adds some perfectly made calamari and exceptional hummus and several more options to pick as well. The service is fabulous and always attentive.

The lobster Benny and fish cake Benny were so delicious. It was so fresh and the hollandaise sauce was just right and not heavy. The potatoes were nicely boiled then baked. We went right at opening 12PM which seems a bit later than the other stores around there so was seated right away. A Great spot facing the pier in white Rock.

The only problem with this place is that there are too many great looking dishes to choose from. I settled on the Clam & Mussel Pot. It was incredibly tasty - one of the best I've had. Also, it was filling. You generally don't get enough, but I'm full. Great ambiance. I actually chose to sit at the bar rather than look into the ocean. Who doesn't like to stare into lobster tanks. I have my eye on my next dish. #dukeofeats

I ordered the platter that came with a whole bunch of stuff including fried oysters, scallops and shrimp. A small place that can get pretty busy but worth the wait.

Moby Dick's is obviously a busy place in the summer, being right across from the waterfront -- but…read morein January, it's a sleepy area and the restaurant is active, but not too busy. We found the food unremarkable - standard fish, standard chips, standard coleslaw, standard tartar sauce. All fried food is pretty standard, pretty greasy, but not any better or worse than many fish & chips shops. So why a 3-star rating rather than 4-stars? First, there is there menu and pricing: What is called a 1-piece fish & chips comes with 2 pieces - all identified fish comes with one extra piece. It's a gimmick, and mostly just annoying. 2nd, there is a charge for everything -- Want tartar sauce? There are three sizes, three prices. Want to substitute onion rings for the fries? Can't do it, even with an up-charge, though you can order fish and you can order onion rings, each separately, each with its own price. Coleslaw? Yes, but not instead of fries. And the coleslaw is pricey - a good sized portion, but a substantial price none-the-less. The portion sizes are reasonably large, but the incessant a-la-carte with each item with a price - one feels nickled and dimed to death. The atmosphere - ok, 1950s-ish, nothing special. The staff, friendly and attentive, but young and inexperienced. And then there was the problem with the cooking -- we got 5 pieces of fish (ordered 2 and 1, which is really 2+1 and 1+1 = 5). Four of them were pretty standard. One was undercooked - cooked on the outer edges (under the fried batter), and raw and translucent on the inside. Yes, they took that off the ticket, so I didn't have to pay for it, but biting into a piece of raw fish with the outside so hot it almost burned my mouth and the inside uncooked - not so pleasant. Moby Dick's gets good ratings from many Yelpers, but in my view, it's not worth going out of your way for.
