After a disappointing dinner on the previous evening we were looking forward to a great dinner. We started with crab cakes. Unfortunately they were so over seasoned that you could not taste the crab. Just tried this place for the first time. I've been a frequent customer of her sister restaurant: Cielo's. Had dinner for four with a reservation. No problems to start. Nice atmosphere, but a little cramped. Sunset view was beautiful. Service was very friendly. Wine selection is limited, but decent, bad coffee and no espresso. The appetizers were excellent, especially the Digby scallops with Applewood smoked bacon, desserts were exceptional as well. The entrées were just below par. The Ahi tuna was the best meal at the table and was decent. The beef dishes and lobster were disappointing.--not terrible, but not good, either. The restaurant was unexpectedly and incredibly noisy. It was difficult to carry on conversations and my ears are still ringing almost a day later. My advice: Go five doors up to the sister-restaurant. read more

The food was great and so was the service. Our waiter was funny and pleasant. The restaurant has such a pretty water view too. I had a wonderful cocktail with vodka, lime, and coconut water...yum! The only downside that was a bit unappetizing was that one of the female servers that was running around kept sticking her check/ticket folder into the back of her pants. She had on a cropped shirt so her back was bare, so whether this was true or not, her actions gave the impression that the check folder was pressing up against her bare tush. I was glad she was not our server because I would have been hesitant to touch the bill when it came. read more

We went here for our first wedding anniversary after a recommendation from a trusted source and overall were left a bit underwhelmed. We ordered the calamari to start - it was very salty My husband had beer and I wine - it was fantastic I had the seafood fettuccine - it was very dull; the sauce was so rich it really had no flavour other than the flavour of butter. It was supposed to be cream-dill but I couldn't taste the dill. The seafood was dried out fish with only two prawns My husband had the fish and chips which were excellent - the curry batter was fantastic and he absolutely loved the coleslaw For the prices paid, we didn't feel like it was a 4 star restaurant. Great food! Came to White Rock for a brief visit and found this by the beach. I had the fish and chips, which was very well cooked and tasty. I also tried the fish fajitas, which were also very nice. The lebni (not sure how it's spelled) was also excellent. Very good service and excellent food! Definitely coming here next time I drop by White Rock! read more

I have been looking for excellent prime rib, close to home for years. My husband rarely orders prime rib because of the fat but both our prime ribs were cooked perfectly with little fat. Serving sizes were large and included roasted potatoes , green beans and carrots. Our waitress was lovely. It's a really cute restaurant with a cape cod decor and outstanding views of the pier across the street. We are so excited to have found a new spot! read more

We have become regulars here, enjoying the patio, a glass of wine or three, and a platter of fresh oysters on Sunday afternoons. The service is always prompt and friendly. Food is fresh and well-prepared. You can't beat the view! Beach dining at its best. We love the paella as well! read more

To put it quite simply, the owners of this restaurant have one goal in mind... maximise profi for themselves,... forget about the customers. I must preface this by saying that our terrible service was in no way to be blamed on our servers, it lies 100% with the management. In fact our servers were British and I feel sorry for them having to work in such a place. The owners have simply crammed too many tables and chairs into too small a space, it is cramped, hot, very noisy and unpleasant ( management). Our group had made reservations weeks in advance for a birthday at 8pm. There was no table as the previous group were running late. (management). We ended up crammed in at the back of the restaurant which is laid out with a very minimal room for people and staff to move (management) An hour later at 9pm. we got to order and wait another hour and ten minutes later at 10:10pm. our food finally arrived (management). We spent over 2 hours with nothing to do but run up the bar tab. When the food finally came it was beautifully presented and would have made terrific advertisingshots for a magazine, unfortunately we had to eat it. I do not like shellfish so I ordered the 5DD burger and fries, my partner a 50+ smaller lady ordered a steak. Fortunately she does not have a large appetite as her portion, though looking pretty, was pathetically small. My food was cold, I ate one French fry as for some reason the cooks think that poor cold fries taste better when smothered with pepper. The lukewarm burger was artfully topped by 2 cold onion rings, served on a burnt dried out bun, contained bacon that was still pink and white it was so undercooked and was disgusting. Another person in ourgroup that was seated at the other end of the table ate maybe a quarter of his burger and left most of his fries also.The waitress apologised and asked if I would like my meal replaced, After over 2 hours to get this in the first place I did not want to wait any longer and ate elsewhere on my way home. Overall I would describe this restaurant in Gordon Ramsays terms as "overpriced pretentious crap" I will not return, or ever recommend this poorly managed restaurant. read more

I worked my way through college at high end restaurants and appreciate and understand good service. I'm in my 50s now, and appreciate a good meal. We arrived at 6:45 and were seated outdoors. Beautiful views. Ordered drinks, which we received about 15minutes later. At the same time a family of 5 was seated. We ordered simple food (fish and chips and a seafood stew that must have been preprepared) and an appetizer. A half hour later, the family!y of 5 has their meals, and we have not received our appetizer. Finally we ask and our appetizer is delivered 5 minutes later, prawns that were under cooked. 20 minutes later a party behind us that arrived after the party of 5 has paid for their meal and left, the party of 5 gets their check, and we don't have our dinner. I walk inside and ask, and all of a sudden, an hour and 10 minutes after we ordered fish and chips and stew, our food arrives, minus the bread for my girlfriends stew, which was never delivered. The waitress clearly knew she'd forgotten to submit our order. The manager never came by. The food was ok, but not fantastic, probably because it was hastily prepared. A $170 meal for two with the worst service I,d had in 40 years. If you want absolutely awful terrible service, this is the spot. I'd avoid unless it's the last place on Earth. read more

It is a good place , fun and friendly and not fussy. We had Thai mussels , fish and chips and my nephew had pasta . The French fries that came in as the chips for fish and chips were fantastic. Mussels tastes good . Portion was right . Servers were friendly although a bit busy so a bit late to respond. They warned us ahead that the it may take 25 minutes to prepare the food , l am not sure if it was an exception or what But generally speaking we had a good experience . If you walk the drive you will notice this place is way busier than its neighbors. Looks like locals know where to eat. read more

Wow....the view is spectacular and the food to match!! The mussels are exceptional and the service outstanding. I usually don't have too many good things to say about restaurants along "the strip" in white rock but this one is an exception. Ran out of musscles in a sea food reastaurant ! ran out of desert! waited 20 mins past out reservation and then service was terrible . waiter tried to tell us how the chees cake they ran out of was almost ready for tommorow, so was his tip. My wife and I had our Valentines Dinner at this restaurant on Saturday. A friend recommended we give it a try and they did not disappoint. The food was great our server was top notch. My wife had the Chicken Creole and I a steak. I am a steak guy but will order the chicken next time we go to Five....it was fabulous! read more
