This is the second time for me in this restaurant. This second visit is post Covid. One thing that I noticed is that the price went sky rocket high. It is higher than downtown hotel level. Is the dish / presentation/ experience the same?!

Walked in for my birthday week celebration with girlfriends and the place was packed . Screens for social distancing and sanitizer for cleaning was offered . The view is amazing and the food is delicious. We couldn't try a lot of things on the menu as we had stuffed ourselves with ice cream already. Had Cesar salad and salmon flatbread . Both were delicious. I may dream about that flaky flatbread topped with pesto and the delicate salmon on top. Oh my that was smashing! We also had some beers and the total was around 75$. So worth the visit for friendly staff , delicious food and million dollar view!

The atmosphere at the Five is warm and has a beachfront vibe. The restaurant is mainly seafood-based but also has a variety of Italian and Middle Eastern food flair. The drinks are tasty, too! Their happy hour ranges from $8 sangrias and $6 lagers and adds some perfectly made calamari and exceptional hummus and several more options to pick as well. The service is fabulous and always attentive.

A group of us dropped into Five for some oysters. Five offers a covered outdoor seating area than can be utilized in the sunshine or rain. Indoors is aesthetically pleasing. Our group sat in the lounge area during our visit. Visa and MasterCard are accepted forms of payment. I had a Fat Tug IPA for $7.95 and my daughter had a Jolly Rancher for $7.50 while we looked over the menu. My daughter opted for the Fresh Shucked Oysters for $3.25 each. She ordered one of each oyster showcased for the day. The condiments, fresh grated horseradish and tobiko were all excellent. My daughter loved her oysters; however she states that the PNW still has the best oysters. I ordered the Oyster Rockefeller (qty 4) for $19: blue cheese, cream sauce, garlic, shallots and spinach. Luscious and rich. Oysters take some time to shuck so be patient with the staff. Staff members were friendly and extremely helpful. Tabs were easily and accurately split.

The lobster Benny and fish cake Benny were so delicious. It was so fresh and the hollandaise sauce was just right and not heavy. The potatoes were nicely boiled then baked. We went right at opening 12PM which seems a bit later than the other stores around there so was seated right away. A Great spot facing the pier in white Rock.

The only problem with this place is that there are too many great looking dishes to choose from. I settled on the Clam & Mussel Pot. It was incredibly tasty - one of the best I've had. Also, it was filling. You generally don't get enough, but I'm full. Great ambiance. I actually chose to sit at the bar rather than look into the ocean. Who doesn't like to stare into lobster tanks. I have my eye on my next dish. #dukeofeats

However, I was surprised that the restaurant ambience was way nicer than the rest of the building. The restaurant had a more upscale and cozy feel. Staff were friendly and efficient. We decided to order French onion soup and table side maple bacon scallops to start. The soup was not too salty and had a decent amount of cheese. Scallops were prepared in front of our eyes and tasted pretty good. Next, we had ribeye and beef tenderloin as our mains. We substituted the mash potatoes for mushroom risotto and gnocchi. It was delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare with a dollop of butter. The risotto and gnocchi were both very rich and creamy. The gnocchi were pillowy soft. Lastly, we ordered dessert. There was complimentary crème brûlée for the birthday, but we decided to order their table side dessert as well. They had a trio dessert plate with another crème brûlée, donuts and a chocolate peanut butter ball. The staff torched the cream brûlée in front of us and then flambéed some brandy over the donuts and sprinkled some cinnamon powder. We were able to see some sparks with the cinnamon powder. Lastly, a caramel sauce was poured over the chocolate ball and melted part of the ball to reveal the ice cream filling. Overall, we really enjoyed our dining experience here. I would consider coming back when I am craving some steak. I thought the price was reasonable for the experience.

The layout of the interior, lighting, tables & bar are what restaurants should look like - amazing vibe & style. I was impressed. Sat out on the patio, which was closed due to the overcast sky. Nonetheless, it actually felt comfortable sitting there. Tried a new menu item - Scallop + Prawn Ceviche. It was excellent. Also went for the always reliable - Szechuan Lettuce Wraps. Both these items were stellar in taste & presentation. I had just enough room for dessert - the Chocolate Lava Cake. So good I wanted another one! The hosts & servers were warm & very pleasant. I'll definitely be coming back here again to this particular location. Ps I noticed on their website - locations in Boston & Miami will be opening up.

When you enter the restaurant you might find it a bit quirky (the colour scheme and decor), but do not let this deter you from their outstanding food and quality of service! Within a minute or two of being seated, our waiter (he could have been the manager he was very professional), first brought us water and delightful warm Italian bread with amazing olive oil. Shortly after, our waiter then reviewed the specials and suggested the grilled octopus as a starter to share between the two of us. WOW, this was truly the best grilled octopus we have ever had! The dish was grilled to absolute perfection and the seasoning flavours were delightful. It was an adequate portion to share and would have been enough as a solo main dish for one. For mains we ordered the seafood lasagna and the chicken parmesan. The seafood lasagna was superb. Filled with a wonderful cream sauce and lots of fresh seafood, every bite was divine. The portion was large and almost enough for two. The chicken parmesan was amazing (also one of the best we have had), served with al dente fresh vegies and again, could have been a portion size for two. We both took leftovers home for lunch and they were great. Dining at this "hidden gem" was a wonderful experience! If you are looking for authentic Italian food, professional service, La Baia is definitely a place to visit.
