Nice little spot in White Rock. Plenty of parking around the area. The food was good and fresh - I appreciate the fresh wasabi. Selection was decent for the place . The only qualm is the Salmon Aburi wasn't made tight so it broke with the pick up. Wasn't torched enough either. Service was good as well. Overall, Happy.

The sushi bomb roll is absolutely fantastic! The staff were also incredible. A great spot to grab sushi in white rock

Two words: REAL. WASABI. White Rock has such gems, and this is one of them. It's unassuming and a small place, but don't let that deter you. It's got a substantial sushi menu, fresh fish, and lovely presentation. We ate a lot (don't judge), and it was SO good we ordered one last roll. The sashimi plate had slices of fish that pretty much melted in your mouth. The smaller rolls were simple and perfect, and the fancy rolls are....fancy. The hot sake is a little spendier for a little less than what you might be used to, but the service is friendly (albeit a tad slower). We weren't in a rush, so the slower service wasn't a big deal, and there is ample paid parking along the other side of the street. The only thing that was sort of a "sigh" was that the menu has a lot of cooked, and not as much raw as we were hoping. Other than that, it was a delightful experience and is so easy to get to. It's become part of the go-tos when we want a quick trip to Canada for some delicious Japanese food.

Black Rock Roll = perfection. Cold fresh crab atop warm flavorful salmon. We also enjoyed dynamite roll, beef teriyaki roll, oshinko roll. Good service.

Best sushi around! This is my favorite place to go for sushi. It's the only place that has food that I'm consistently "in the mood for". Crazy Boy special roll was warm, crispy, and delicious! I'm not usually a seafood/fish fan, but this hits the spot every time. The presentation is beautiful. Size of sushi roll does vary. Sometimes so big that I have multiple bites, other times one mouthful only. On one occasion, weekday afternoon, my sushi was half normal size, boyfriend's sushi appeared twice normal size. Service is pleasant. Indoor and outdoor seating options. The place can get busy at times, but not usually much wait time for seating.

This place is located right along the beach walk of White Rock, so the location is fantastic. However, the drawback is that parking is notoriously hard to find, even during off-peak times. The only time when parking is readily available seems to be on rainy weekdays in winter. Their ambiance, service, and location are all five stars. We tried their Dragon Roll, Tuna Flower Roll, and a few nigiri pieces. The nigiri pieces came out after about 10 minutes, followed by the Tuna Flower Roll at around 15 minutes, and then finally the Dragon Roll at 25 minutes. I was not a big fan of the staggered bringing of the dishes since I like to try everyone all at once. In addition, the Dragon Roll had a bit too much saltiness to it and not enough unagi (eel) sauce. The rice was defiintely above average, but not the best I've tasted. The other rolls were fine.

I will be back, truly a great dining experience. Delicious Sashimi and sushi, warm environment and staff.

We were looking for a place OTW home from the airport, we wanted sushi, and we wanted to be able to…read morepark ok. MaguroGuy had decent reviews and was not too far off the highway, so we decided to detour there. We overordered (as you can see from photos) but since we're used to things being tiny and unsatisfying, we had no idea what we were getting into. The lunch special is great, and my companion didn't need the extra rolls with it, though they were really tasty. I ordered a smattering of rolls, and was quite full. The fish is good, there are slightly heavier on rice than other places, but at least there was a good variety to choose from. We opted to skip the sashimi platter as it was $80, way higher than anywhere else we normally go. The parking is fine, it's in a lot, and it was daytime but had a decent number of lights. Service was quite friendly, and the ambiance of the restaurant was very cozy, despite it being a decent size. There are a hundred other sushi places in the area to try, but MaguroGuy was a solid experience and I would go back.

This used to be a great restaurant. But the owner sold it (quite some time ago) and the new owners…read morewent from top quality fish to discount save-on fish. The hamachi nigiri was large, with a strange yellow/orange coloring (I have had hamachi hundreds of times and never ever seen it look like this). The texture was mushy, the flavor unlike any hamachi I have had before - a tough one. The salmon oshi was cold and the salmon tasted fishy/old (again, have had this many many places, so it isn't like I am judging against the first time trying oshi). Lastly, the old owner used to have a Banana Crunch Roll that was the bomb. Why this owner didn't learn how to make it and keep it on the menu is a head scratcher. On a positive note, the size of the fish portions were generous.

My fiancee had the udon seafood soup noodles and she said it was very well done and unlike any she had before. You definitely get what you pay for at Sushi Mori wonderful atmosphere elegantly done a great place to enjoy your time for an amazing meal.

A small group of us congregated at Sushi Mori on a Friday evening. Got a booth and proceeded to…read morereview the vast menu of words (no images). One of us went online to get an idea of what we were ordering. Between the five of us we ordered, cocktails, appetizers, main courses, and desserts; the food met everyone's expectations. One odd thing with the cocktails, no substitution (vodka in lieu of sake) was allowed -- seemed rigid, especially since they had both liquors. The service was a little confusing as we sat there for some time waiting to order, we had to flag down someone and ask if they were our server, to which they replied "I can be." Not sure if that's typical in that restaurant or what may have happened. Our server was polite and honest, possibly new. Location and parking were simple. Interior was cool with faux cherry trees and their faux white blossoms taking center stage. Bathroom was small but clean, no where to hang your purse in the stall and no sanitary toilet covers. Bottom line: the food was clean and good, service was OK, ambiance was creative but watch out for uneven flooring. That said, I'm in no hurry to return. In fact, while a couple of us stopped in the nearby drugstore, the clerk recommended a different sushi restaurant in the same shopping center, we may try that one next time instead.
