I would say that Peekabo is highly recommended for those who wants authentic Japanese sushi and other Japanese foods. Their sushis are fresh and have its own unique flavours, staffs has always been accommodating and most of the prices are reasonable. From this last visit, I ordered to go since dine in was closed. I am delighted of how well the foods were packed ready for pick up, food were really delicious, the tempura is not that oily, beef in bibimbap was so tender, sushi was well rolled and delicious. The only reason why I give four stars is because I do have some favourite dish which was removed from their menu. read more

2 reasons why I love Bistro Peekaboo: 1. Decently priced and good quality sushi. I ordered a few different rolls to try: tempura unagi roll, tempura avocado roll, and the deep fried california roll. You can never go wrong with a deep fried cali roll. The big surprise for me was the tempura unagi roll. But really, all of them were delicious and hit my sushi craving right in the head. The rolls are fairly big and come in an order of 6, so you're not feeling hungry afterwards. For all that and an order of miso soup, I paid a little over $20 not including tip. Not bad, not bad at all. 2. Location, location, location. Living out all the way in Tsawwassen it can be hard to get good sushi out here - even if it's Vancouver. So the fact that this spot is just down the street from my house is awesome for my belly, not so awesome for my bank account. You've got yourself a loyal customer, Bistro Peekaboo. On a sunny Tuesday afternoon in Tsawwassen, I had a craving for sushi, but sushi spots are pretty limited in the local area, so we tried Peekaboo. We were seated at the bar, as we wanted to check out the quality of fish, as well as the chef at work. Service (1/5): Service was just not happening today, unfortunately. There was an older lady and 2 younger girls helping working the small 25-30 seat restaurant. The first girl came by and I asked what the California/Dynamite combo came with. She seemed to not know so I said "is it just the two rolls, or..." and her response was "yes... I think so". Rule #1, if you are going to say "I think so", it better be followed by "but let me check for you to make sure". Later one of our items, gyoza, didn't arrive so we asked and the sushi chef said, "it's getting cooked". After a while longer, we asked again and this time the other server was there an she said we hadn't ordered it. Hmm. Not good. In addition, our finished plates were never cleared, and sitting at the bar made things crowded. Just all bad. Food (2/5): the sushi rice was dense and not properly seasoned. The fish was okay on our nigiris, but not to the standard of how much they were charging. The one roll we had ordered was sloppy, inconsistent, and far too much rice (oddly I saw a couple other rolls go out that probably too little rice). Definitely skip the green salad. It was simply a bed of iceberg and leaf lettuce, with some thin slices of cucumber and about a sixth of an unripened avocado. Dressing was pretty decent. Overpriced, but perhaps this is a supply and demand thing given the lack of sushi spots in the area. Would not recommend. read more

Greeted by very friendly staff. The menu is simple and has some wonderful variety. I ordered the Peekaboo agedashi which is an order of tofu with a prawn tempura and some string beans deep fried in a light batter. It lacked some flavour. I also ordered a bento box that comes with sockeye salmon and tuna sashimi. Nice flavour and freshly prepared. A little small for my liking. The bento box also came with chicken teriyaki on steamed rice, prawn and veggie tempura, California roll, garden salad, and a couple of orange slices. Overall, the food was ok. Middle of the road average food. Overpriced for what you get. I am a bit upset about this now that i am writing this because although the service was good, the value for the food was not deserving for the price. I can understand if your food is exceptional but it wasn't. I won't be back. read more

Peekaboo has been a sushi staple in Tsawwassen for the last several years. They were forced to relocate after the mall fire, but have now settled into their current location (behind the library facing Lucky and Mais Rouge) The service is give or take because the place is small and can get very busy. I would suggest getting there right when they open for dinner service. In the they have a few outdoor seats, I will have to try in out this year! Overall this sushi place is solid. The food is fresh and the people are pretty friendly. I would have given it a solid 4 stars but the staff just seemed like they couldn't keep up, and it took a long time to get a seat and have a server help us. It took a while to get food as well. We ate here around 7pm on a week night. This used to be our go-to place for sushi in Tsawwassen for both take-out and dine-in meals. However, there has been a recent ownership change (May 2018) and it has changed for the worse. The menu is basically the same, but prices have increased, portions have become smaller and the quality has deteriorated significantly. On our recent visit: - The rice in the California roll was mushy, gummy and bland - to the point it was almost inedible. In fact, I tried to eat around the rice, but finally gave up and didn't finish. - The sashimi in the dinner box combo was very small. It looked like a regular slice of sashimi had been cut in half on the diagonal to make two pieces. - The tuna on the nigiri was cut so thin that when lifted off the rice, you could see through parts of it. It was also fishy-smelling. So not the freshest. - The batter on the shrimp tempura was thick and chewy. This restaurant has been very popular in Tsawwassen for a number of years and has built up a lot of goodwill in the community. I think the new owner should be careful not to waste all that goodwill by short-changing customers with increased prices, smaller portions, and inferior food. It's going to be awhile before I give them another try. read more

This is a delicates and authentic Japanese restaurant in south delta, tsawwassen. They have fresh wild salmon that's so tasty, also other common ingredients such as tuna, ebi, unagi... I recommend salmon sushi and scallop sushi. They also provide bento box, which is a very good deal for people who likes to try a bit of everything. Yes, the food is typical Japanese fair, nothing revolutionary here, but the quality is great. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. They consistently serve excellent sushi. I am a regular here at Bistro Peekaboo for years!! I love the quality and the menu. I love how skinny he cuts the sashimi, and his quality is always good. I don't mind paying a bit more for that great taste and flavor. Sashimi melts in your mouth while at other places I find it has too much grizzle. I always do the bento box because of the value. If your looking for quality, eat here. There is another place in White Rock called Kami Sushi that is really good too. I vacillate between the two, All there ingredients at Kami is home made too from scratch. Give them a go too! read more

Horrible service , we sat in the back and waited forever for any kind of service!! The avocado was rock hard, salmon was not cut properly and found a hair on plate of food. One cone a maki roll and 2 pieces of salmon was 17$$!!! Nothing was even discounted even after pointing out the short black hair on plate of sushi. It's an ok sushi place. I don't go there very often as I find the prices too high for average flavour sushi. The staff are pleasant.

We here in Tsawwassen seem a little spoilt for choice when it comes to sushi, as our tiny little suburb has what, three or four different sushi places? But for my money, Peekaboo's the best of the bunch. Pretty good service, and although I'll echo the sentiments other have of it being small and very busy, the food always come quickly and I've yet to experience an order malfunction. And when it does come, the food's pretty good, too! Definitely come hungry, because this isn't one of those sushi places that gives you a few morsels and sends you on your way... you will be EATING here, not grazing. Being too early for the ferry has its benefits. We detoured into the area looking for sushi and found this as the "Yelpest" in the area. While it was a bit tough to find, it was worth it. Wonderfully fresh sushi, friendly staff and a clean, unpretentious place means next time, we will make time to visit before we sail. read more
