2 reasons why I love Bistro Peekaboo: 1. Decently priced and good quality sushi. I ordered a few different rolls to try: tempura unagi roll, tempura avocado roll, and the deep fried california roll. You can never go wrong with a deep fried cali roll. The big surprise for me was the tempura unagi roll. But really, all of them were delicious and hit my sushi craving right in the head. The rolls are fairly big and come in an order of 6, so you're not feeling hungry afterwards. For all that and an order of miso soup, I paid a little over $20 not including tip. Not bad, not bad at all. 2. Location, location, location. Living out all the way in Tsawwassen it can be hard to get good sushi out here - even if it's Vancouver. So the fact that this spot is just down the street from my house is awesome for my belly, not so awesome for my bank account. You've got yourself a loyal customer, Bistro Peekaboo. Thanks for being one of the only good sushi spots in close proximity to me.

Greeted by very friendly staff. The menu is simple and has some wonderful variety. I ordered the Peekaboo agedashi which is an order of tofu with a prawn tempura and some string beans deep fried in a light batter. It lacked some flavour. I also ordered a bento box that comes with sockeye salmon and tuna sashimi. Nice flavour and freshly prepared. A little small for my liking. The bento box also came with chicken teriyaki on steamed rice, prawn and veggie tempura, California roll, garden salad, and a couple of orange slices. Overall, the food was ok. Middle of the road average food. Overpriced for what you get. I am a bit upset about this now that i am writing this because although the service was good, the value for the food was not deserving for the price. I can understand if your food is exceptional but it wasn't. I won't be back.

    Scallop, wild salmon, tobiko sushi.

Definitely the best sushi joint in Tsawwassen. A little expensive, but options are limited out here. Service is always warm and friendly!

The atmosphere is strictly lunch casual, and you can't rely on them to open promptly. But the soup and rice dishes are yummy.

It's an ok sushi place. I don't go there very often as I find the prices too high for average flavour sushi. The staff are pleasant.

The menu contains a variety of rice combo dishes that you can select (pork, chicken, beef, fois gras, curry) and a tempura noodle set as well. Occasionally, they also have specials as well. My boyfriend and I ordered the beef set and the tempura noodle set with pork. I love how there are a variety of side dishes that come with the set. This is great for those who like variety and want to have a complete meal with all the food groups. My favourite is definitely the pickled daikon/carrot and the cabbage salad! The food is not too salty and the broth was perfectly seasoned for my palate. My boyfriend also ordered an espresso romano which I had never tried before. The foam on top was surprisingly refreshing with a tart aftertaste of lime. The prices were also very fair with most sets averaging around $19-20 before tax. You order at the counter and pay after you're finished. This is a great place for a quick bite especially if you're in the Ironwood area of Richmond.

All the courses came with their own sides which was great! Salmon course 4.5/5 maybe it was me and I waited too long to eat so my salmon dried out a little bit the flavor was so good that I didn't mind. I normally hate overcooked salmon but I wouldn't say this was overcooked. Beef course 5/5 the egg was beautifully cooked. The beef was plentiful and I love the addition of the ginger. Udon soup 4.5/5 you get your choice of beef, pork or chicken. It comes with a side of tempura. It was good! Hot and fresh. I love that the temprua was not in the soup. Mango soda 3/5. Refreshing yes. But I expected it to be sweeter or have more mango flavour. Also, if you post a photo on social media, you get a free order of prawn tempura which was nice. Overall we had a great experience. Will definitely come back again!

WOW. 'Nuff said…read more The real question here is what did I NOT love about Akari? I was in the area with a friend and since I'm not too familiar with the sushi options in this area, I hopped on Yelp and Akari was the first one listed. After looking through their menu, we popped on over. They have officially re-opened for dine in, which is what we did. The tables have all been spaced to respect social distancing, there is a takeout/pick up area towards the front, and all the staff are wearing masks. They have an assortment of specialty rolls, nigiris, and other Japanese dishes on their menu. Honestly, everything looked delicious; I had such a hard time deciding what to get! I decided to go for the yam crunch roll (prawn, yam, tempura, cucumber, avocado, topped with yam tempura, sprinkled with spicy flakes) and hot night roll (prawn, yam tempura, avocado, cucumber topped with spicy tuna & tobiko). I LOVED both rolls so much. Each bite was jam packed with spice, sauce, and flavour. The rolls were only around $11-$13, which for what we got is extremely affordable. Rolls this size are usually $15+ at other restaurants. Between the prices, sushi quality, and friendly and great service, this place is one of my new favourite sushi spots. There's a reason that they've been voted best Japanese restaurant in this area. Definitely worth the trip out here. If you live in this area and have never been here - well here's your new neighbourhood sushi spot! Thanks for the awesome dining experience, Akari!

There's really no place to eat or no place to go in Point Roberts Washington. This was my first day trip into Canada and I decided to go get some food. I love sushi and Japanese food in general. I'm so glad I found this place. It is centrally located with lots of parking. And seats for hundred people. When I came in there was only a couple of of people. A table of two. As soon as I came in I was greeted by the chefs behind the bar. Immediately seated by a very lovely pleasant waitress who had a lot of patience as I asked a bunch of questions about the menu. I needed to get on Wi-Fi also and immediately she came back with the information to get on Wi-Fi. I don't think she spoke much English as I sensed she was a true Japanese waitress. She understood every question and answered it. So she probably speaks much more English than I may gather. But she was very kind and willing to answer any questions. I ordered Lunch C. Which was extremely delicious. The chicken teriyaki came with perfectly cooked and flavorful vegetables. The rolls and the tempura were also extremely delicious. The price seemed very affordable and reasonable also. The prices are in Canadian dollars. The ambience in the setting is marvelous. I can see if it's crowded it could get noisy and Service could at that point be a little slow. Although I ordered my lunch special and it came so fast I was amazed. I will not hesitate coming here again. Personally to me it's the top end of five stars. I'll give them an A+. And I was wrong about the waitress. She's from Korea and her name is Ciao. I'm not sure if I'm spelling it right. But I thought it was really interesting that I ordered lunch C from her. Pronounced C-O. I asked to take her picture but she was a little too shy I also asked a couple as they left. And left me alone in this lovely restaurant. If they enjoyed their food? And they said definitely and I found out that they're locals and they come here often. In fact the wife suggested I order exactly what I did. A great experience. And I did not finish all my food. I also complemented the chefs on the way out. And the bathroom was immaculate.

The ambiance felt warm and well organized with comfortable seating and a nice setup that made it a pleasant place to relax and enjoy a meal. The food was good as well. I especially loved the mango avocado tempura rolls because they were light, crispy, and refreshing. The miso soup tasted comforting and flavorful, and the beef tataki bowl was also good. We ended up ordering quite a bit of food along with some sake and everything was served nicely. The only thing I did not enjoy as much was the veggie gyoza because the filling tasted a bit unusual to me. Overall, we had a pleasant experience dining here. It is very important for restaurants to maintain genuine pricing while continuing to serve quality food that makes customers want to come back again, and I hope they continue to maintain both their pricing and quality.

The place looks spacious on the outside as it shares the building and is adjacent joining to the Browns Social House. But once inside you realize it's pretty small with only 6 dine in tables and more suitable as a takeout joint. We wanted to keep it simple and ordered a Sashimi Box and a Karaage Don. The Karaage Don's chicken didn't taste like it had really any solid chicken pieces in it and just comprised of mushed up pieces of chicken parts. Furthermore, it was paired up with a honey mustard sauce on the side which was odd and did not compliment the dish well, definitely had better. The Sashimi Box's contents were pretty big portions, but the Tuna Sashimi was not thawed properly before being served and it had a really strong fishy smell to it. At $26.95, it's overpriced by around $4.00 compared to it's competitors around town in addition to the subpar quality was a real downer. Plenty of free parking with 4 stalls right in front of the restaurant and throughout the strip mall.
