Update: prior to my post below, the restaurant is not Ekoya anymore instead its Sushi Gurume. Its been about six months since my last dine here, though I have been ordering takeouts, was surprise for their additional dishes on their menus but some we're as well removed like the japjae. They updated their menus, added several rolls drinks and sesame cheesecake dessert; their serving became fancier like bigger plates, decorated dessert and better menu book by adding photos which made it easier to decide. I think the price is still the same or maybe had a change but just minimal. So far the goma-ae, chicken nanban and grouse mountain sushi were delicious, it was an nice experience and kinda excited to see try the other rolls. read more

We had a large group of 13 and received a partitioned section just for us. As mentioned by others, it's not much from the outside but once inside, the decor is very standard Japanese restaurant like with shoji walls and ample seating for a strip mall establishment. Our waitress was courteous and knows her menu. We ordered quite a mix of sushi and kitchen items. The sushi combos, especially the one for two people, have generous portions. In fact, most items did. The chirashi don was very nicely presented in an unusual elongated white bowl with fresh sashimi nicely arranged. My seafood tempura was so large with prawns, salmon, squids, and artificial crab. I added a bowl of rice and I was stuffed. The batter was nicely crispy and it tasted like they fried it to order instead of precooked. Yakisoba with beef was tasty with, again, a generous serving of beef. It's slightly different from the traditional Japanese taste but still good. The only hint that this was Korean owned and operated was the small offering of Korean dishes on the menu. Otherwise, given the vicinity, this is an excellent restaurant providing great value. read more

Ekoya Sushi - New sushi restaurant in Tsawwassen! Daily Lunch special - yum - Japanese Near Me - Delta, British Columbia

One of my favourite sushi spots in the Tsawwassen area. Within the last week I've picked up sushi twice and taken it to the beach for a beach picnic. Who knew sushi was such a good beach treat? Over my last two visits, I've gotten an assortment of rolls for sharing: + Dragon Roll + Crunch Roll + Deep Fried California Roll + Tiger Roll + Tsawwassen Roll + Lobster Roll + Yaho Roll All of them were delicious, but I think my top 3 faves were the crunch roll, lobster roll, and yaho roll. I love any kind of sushi that is saucy and flavourful, and all 3 of these hit the spot perfectly. The take out service was quick and easy, and the staff had all of our food ready to go by the time we got there. Next time I'd love to dine in and enjoy some of their miso soup (because this gal always needs her miso soup!). read more

I'm sorry, but finally tried this place after some recommendations. Sushi was okay at best.... waited 45 minutes plus for a simple order in an empty restaurant. It came to the point that I had to walk up to the kitchen and ask if they had started making our order (otherwise I would of straight up cancelled our order and went home) They had just plated our order so we decided to scarf it down in 5 minutes. I absolutely love this restaurant. Great atmosphere, good music, very nice food, and i appreciate that they have some more uncommon selections that other restaurants in Delta don't have, such as Ika nigiri among others. One of the lowest quality sushi I've had. The place is very well designed, beautiful traditional decor. Staff is friendly. The quality of the food is a definate let down. Its also a bit overpriced and the portions are smaller than some of my other favourite spots. They even charge you a $1.50 for green tea. If you're in the area, go to Nikko sushi instead. read more

Wow. This is not Sushi. It is Mooshi. Having eaten Sushi worldwide, lived in Japan as well as my wife being born in Japan we know our Sushi. Yes. We all have variances in taste, ingredients, sauces et al. First time purchase here. (PS Name has changed) Phone order for Party Tray. My wife picked it up on time. That is where the good part ends. This was a joke. The rice was over salted beyond the pale. The mix was pathetic. Who puts shaved meat into Sushi? Maybe but we did not want a series of shaved meat sandwiches. The salad Sushi was a bundle of weeds. Who has salad suchi? The rest was a mish mash of creamed something or another. Yes there were about 5 raw fish Sushi on rice. Honestly this place should be embarassed they provide Sushi. Horrible overall. It was fresh. Yes. After that it sort of took the yellow brick road. NO. Would not ever order again. NO. Would not ever recommend the place. After all our years of fine Sushi almost everywhere on this planet we had to chose this one. Our error. Our lose. If others find the place fantastic they likely need lessons on what Sushi should be. read more

This is my favourite place to take my mom for a nice dinner. The staff (Korean) are super friendly and accomodating. The ambiance is casual and the decor is authentically Japanese. I usually order the dinner combo which consist of miso soup (bland), choice of sunomono salad (sadly no shrimps) or dumpling, california roll (quite good), small veggie and prawn tempura (perhaps the best I've tasted - batter is light and crispy and cooked perfectly) and your choice of chicken, pork, beef and ginger beef terriyaki (i usually order the ginger beef). Price is reasonable and portions are good to satisfy a hungry person. I'm still in search of authentic chicken terriyaki that served with the skin (crispy). My mom loves their prawn tempura and california roll. All in all a very nice, clean and affordable place! read more

Not the best Japanese restaurant in the area, but the food is acceptable. I've had two different dinner boxes and enjoyed them. Service can be slow if the restaurant starts to fill up. Wine selection is poor. read more

Eko-Ya has definitely improved over the last year. In fact, this is one of my favourite sushi restaurants and the best in Tsawwassen right now. They take the time to actually make an awesome teriyaki dish whether it's chicken or beef, it arrives on a super hot iron plate. Very kid friendly for both lunch and dinner. read more

Came here for a quick yummy lunch, and it was just that! Got a chicken teriyaki and California roll combo... The California roll was awesome. Fresh. The chicken teriyaki was good too, doesn't come with rice but on top of sautéed beans and carrots... Which is awesome in my opinion (less carbs and healthier) definitely would come back :) read more

Well, it was sushi, so there's that. I ordered take-out, just an assorted tempura and a california roll, nothing extravagant, but I was stunned to find they were quite expensive! For two things it came to nearly 16$. The tempura, though still crunchy and hot, was very bland. The prawn was sort of chewy on the inside too, like it was a little underdone. The sushi wasn't particularly fresh or remarkable- indeed, I thought there wasn't enough cucumber or avocado. The decor of the place might be nice, but with two other great sushi places in the area, I would give Eko-Ya a pass. read more

I came here for tuna and salmon rolls. The reseraunt looked quite nice and the service was timely. You should be aware the resteraunt uses a call button system, and you won't be asked if you need service, you will need to press the button. The rolls I got was pretty on par for the sushi you can receieve in tsawassen and ladner, but for higher prices. The green tea also isn't complimentry. I fail to see how the resteraunt sets themselves apart in tsawwassen and ladner. read more

The food is good and the prices are reasonable. They have specials all the time, so even if you go here a lot you can get something new... Of course, you rarely have to do that because they have such a comprehensive menu in the first place! read more

Pretty good sushi. Best sushi place in tsawwassen is my personal opinion. Whenever we want sushi we always go there.

Food is yummy and a nice relaxing atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Tofu lunch box was better than expected.

Awesome food. Good service and quality sushi. Have had it quite a few times and am very pleased.
