Great food! Our waitress was lovely and provided great service. It's a nice little restaurant to go for a quick bite!

I was craving for sushi. B and I ended up coming here for sushi. I ordered the Salmon Don and Chopped Scallop. B got the Gomae, Miso, Spicy Salmon Roll and Unagi Roll. The atmosphere here is quite nice. The decor is very Japanese. My chop scallop roll was quiet delicious. The Salmon Don was ok. The salmon was very thinly sliced. It wasn't like very filing. The thinly laid rice sat at the bottom of the bowl and then 8 thin sliced salmon on top. B said his sushi were good. He liked the gomae a lot. I don't think the salmon don was a good deal here. The salmon is too thinly sliced that there were hardly any flavor. B and I both agreed that the rice was too undercooked. Definitely need some improvement there. The restaurant is located in a stripmall so there were plenty of parking when we came. Prices were ok. portion size was ok as well. We really liked the tea here. Service was pretty good. We made a return, dine in trip today and here's the updated experiences: 1. Spicy Agedashi Tofu - It's so clever. They've rolled the tofu in the spicey goodnes and battered on top of that (or made a spicy batter?) - it's extraordinary. And perfection. And I was so happy to eat it. 2. Gyoza - The dipping sauce is crack. 3. Nigiri - Incredibly fresh, delicious, perfectly cut too, bite sized. 4. Dynamite Roll - I liked it more than hubs, but I found the sweetness lovely. It is DEFINITELY our local spot now that we've tried a few others that were lackluster. So stoked. Now to check out their cold sake selection.... read more

A friend took me here for sushi and I was super impressed! I forgot to take a picture of the agedashi tofu, but that was delicious, lightly battered and I liked how the sauce came on the side so none of the tofu got soggy as it would if it were just sitting in the sauce. We ordered a bunch of the special sushi rolls and they were very tasty! The ingredients tasted very fresh. I like how the amount of rice they use in their rolls wasn't too much because sometimes I feel like sushi places have very big rolls but its mainly because they use so much rice. The service was excellent as well, our waitress was super attentive and came back to refill tea often, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is super cute with the way they did their decorations. Not very nice fresh food compare with previous owner since the new owner purchased this restaurant round Sep - Oct 2023. Food cooked very dry, greasy. Portion is much smaller. Also the Teriyaki chicken or Salmon was too salty. For sure never want to go to Todai again. The owner does not like or accept any suggestion or feedback even you try to talk to him. Todai lost their business from us for sure. Too bad we were eating there at least 2 times per week before this new ownership. read more

Todai has been our go to Sushi place for a few years but ordered last night and noticed it is under new management. We were disappointed. Gyoza was not the same at all. Flavorless. Tempura was heavy and greasy. Sashimi was farm salmon and much smaller pcs. The California Roll was so so. Guess we'll be looking for a new place. read more

Didn't expect to find this kind of "traditional" decor in Delta so that's a pleasant surprise. Food quality, however, is pretty close to what i had in mind beforehand. I find it odd that their spicy tuna sashimi is more like a salad with quite a bit of greens mixed in, also the sashimi in the chirashi don is very thinly sliced and the rice definitely too chewy. Their prices also surprised me but not in a good way as I can find better value than here even in Vancouver's west side. read more

This place was really good. It's more of a sushi place sit down place. The place is really good not bad you can order many different type of sushi combo's dinner combo's family platters and the service is really quick. I use to come here a lot in high school, and all I can say is this: A) The pork katsudon is amazing B) The salmon teriyaki is also amazing C) It's a little pricey, but nowhere near as expensive as other places D) It's pricey because of how high quality the meat is Basically, it's totally worth it The only downside is that it is a very small shop, BUT it is very cosey, well-kept, clean and nicely decorated. A bit out of the way for me, however, I really like this spot. I have been here twice with some friends. I love the veggie cones which are a nice presentation and wrapped nice and tight which makes this perfect for a few drops of soy sauce. The service was fast and the prices were really reasonable. A great place for sushi. I've visited several times and never been let down. If you want an explosion of flavours try the Big bang sushi. Also, if you're into spicy, under appetizers they have a great prawn dish I think is spicy ebi. A deep crsipy fried prawns covered in a sweet and spicy sauce, I loved it thoroughly and definitely recommend it. Aside from these two dishes, you still can't go wrong with anything you order. Terrible service, went to pick up and pay for our pre-ordered sushi to find out after paying that they did not receive our order even though we have our call info on our cell phone confirming our call. Was told then to wait another 30 mins after paying without any form of apology. If this was the case we would have gone somewhere else to buy our dinner as we were already late for our dinner. Overall, sushi was average at best, shrimp in the dynamite roll was small and barely noticeable, salmon sashimi was flavourless and paired with a less than stellar customer service made this meal below average. read more

We were regulars since they opened. The last 2 times they messed up our order. The last time I went back immediately to show them that they missed part of our order, they humilated me in front of my daughter and the restaurant calling me a liar. I will never go back. Was not sure what to expect but had a great dinner here with the hubby and teenage son. Food was above average for Surrey /Delta Japanese and we were surprised by the generous portion sizes. Bento boxes were excellent and the food was hot and the sushi was fresh. I am a bit of a tempura snob and was impressed by variety of veggies offered and how crispy and light the batter was. Three of us shared a variety of items and left stuffed for under $40. We tried delivery a month or so later and was equally impressed..we will be back. read more

Their rolls are sooooo delicious!! My fave is the Pinky roll, it isn't on the menu but they can still make it, also their lobster roll and just all their rolls are the best I've had in the delta surrey area! My new go to sushi spot that's close by :) read more

This is one of my all time favourite sushi places, everything from here is very tasty and the service is fast and friendly. Ive only encountered a couple of negative times here which involved Seating placement however it was resolved by the owner. Love it here! My local sushi spot. I frequent this place and it's great every time. Prices are fair and all of the food is well made. Rolls never fall apart and aren't too huge that you need to bite them in half. I hate that. Probably be back here next weekend. read more
